Can even be heard with headphones on. It's not coil whine, as the sound gets louder with the fans. Its just a bad design that pushes the air flow through small holes causing the worst noise you can ever imagine.

We're sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you're having with this model. The noise that is emitting from the computer is known as coil whine. When the electrical current is increased to a certain point, the magnetic field around the coil can cause it to vibrate, which produces the whiny sound. After a short amount of time the noise should go away as the components regulates. However, if it is that the sound is too much for you, then we would recommend that you have this device sent in for servicing.

In mine it was already stripped, making it virtually impossible to remove. Asus has apparently also been known to use loctite on these screws, which is probably why it won't budge with pliers either. Not very consumer friendly. Mine is going back.

I opened up the box and everything looked great. The laptop has a very premium feel, looks amazing, and I was beyond excited. I haven’t invested in a gaming PC or laptop since 2009 so this is state of the art compared to what I used to use. I booted it up and went to type in my Microsoft account info. My 4th keystroke was an audible crunch. The “E” was completely broken. Light press, hard press, it didn’t matter. It was like a piece of gravel was underneath it. Then, it started sticking after pressing it down more. I’m sure I would have loved it but to drop over $1900 (with tax) and get something defective right out of the box is so far from acceptable. How hard is it to check the keys of a laptop? On top of all this, it’s sold out again so I’m back to waiting until who knows when plus new shipping times. But before that, I have to wait until my credit card is fully refunded before I can buy anything again. Judging by other reviews of people having to return multiple laptops for various reasons, I’d rather not take a chance that my keyboard works on the next one but now I have a blown speaker. I’ll probably look somewhere other than Asus.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.its a good laptop but a few problem. its suppose to be 80w on gpu and with dynamic boost its 100w but mine has no option and ive contacted nvidia and bestbuy geek squad with no luck. now the laptop feels nice but playing apex legends it feels like it thermal throttles .. i get a little skippy at times and cpu runs hot. ive updated all the drivers listed on all companys site and still get the same problems.
