Great start, but very short lived.

It is now coming up a year later and I am having frequent issues with the battery causing my laptop to randomly go into sleep mode even when it's full. The newest issue is now the graphics card giving me an error as it just stops working for no reason. I take the utmost care of my things and keep them nice and clean. This is the fastest any laptop I have had has ever started giving me issues. I regret this purchase now and do not recommend this brand to anybody.

Broken Straight Out of the Box

I was stuck between choosing one from Newegg and this one, but ultimately went for this one as I could go by the store to pick it up the same day. Unfortunately, I brought it all the way back home, only to find that while the laptop started, the keys began to glow, and Cortana began narrating... But the screen wouldn't come on. YAY! Had to drive 40 minutes back to the store to return it, and they're sending me a new one, which will be arriving later than the other laptop I had been considering from Newegg. Nice.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.

It’s not worth it

Gamers BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not buy this laptop.

I've had it for one year and 8 days. 8 days passed warranty and now the laptop won't boot. Black screen and can't even launch bios, which seems like MB failure. Contacted Asus support and they want me send in the laptop to them and to pay to diagnosis and fix the issue. For $1500 this is a terrible laptop that will only last you one year. This is my first and last Asus laptop. The company does not stand behind their product at all.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are built to last. If the laptop will no longer boot up or it's just black screen, please do the following.
Verify if the AC adapter is connected properly from the laptop to a known good power outlet or AC source. Try another power source.
Try to press and hold down the power button to shut it down completely, just in case laptop is not in hibernate mode, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit.

Poor screen quality

Asus QC & Bestbuy Sales

Any time there was pressure on the backplate of the laptop chassis it would recognize a spacebar touch. So if I had my hands on the top, it would put pressure on the back and register a spacebar touch. Bestbuy wouldn't guarantee me another of the same model, and Asus told me to return it to Bestbuy. I'm waiting for it to be back in stock so I can give it another shot, and I'll update the review then. Not pleased with Bestbuy's options on returning it, as I wanted a replacement.

QC issues: Backlight Bleed and Dead Pixels

Rip-Off

Cost me about $1500 for only one year's use. Computer repair shop said the motherboard was burnt out and would cost roughly that much to replace.

Aweful Screen Bleed!

Usb ports are very tight for my devices. I have to put too much force to plug anything into it. The worst screen bleed I've seen. Ordered another one, hopefully I won't have to play the lottery again.

BROKEN KEYBOARD AND DEAD PIXELS

I did a bit of research and it seems to be happening with quite a few ROG computers. For a $2000 laptop, you'd think it would last longer. I also had 2 dead pixels within the first 2 months. There is a 3 dead pixel policy if I remember correctly.

I love the Laptop, but it’s definitely glitchy

Lot of compromises needs to be made

The brightness and other characteristics of the screen make it very hard to read the text. You have to use very high magnification in windows settings in order to read comfortably. The fan makes a very high-pitched sound and is very noisy. The top of the keyboard especially the number keys gets uncomfortably hot even with fan at full speed.
