    Not sure why but after a windows update on 1/13/21 the computer became a bit glitchy. After a few days it full on would not boot, it was not even able to restore to original. I had only used the computer a couple times by this point. I had to return it. I am sure this is a great computer, but it being a windows product that downloads updates withought informing you.

    Stuck with unupgradable 16GB RAM

    this is a really small laptop, not really fit for gaming. no number pad, that was my fault for not checking pictures not sure they had any. what really takes the cake is the on board unupgradable 8GB ram they have with another upgradeable 8GB....what are you going to upgrade it with? nothing that's what. you can't, windows will read the lowest speed, size ram, so.... so you're stuck with max 16gb ram

    Defective out of the box! Asus needs a good Quality control. I have to bring this laptop to my son's college dorm only to find out that it's defective. Now we have go travel back there to get it and return it to bestbuy. Plan of buying an Asus PC? Do some research first. So frustrating. .

      To resolve the speaker problem, please check the Volume Control properties and verify if the volume level was set to the correct listening level and the correct output device, internal spekaers, were selected. Ensure Windows and the audio driver are up to date, also.



      Regarding the Bluetooth connection related issue, please ensure xBox contoller is working properly, the battery are ok and device is powered on. To setup, please select the button > type > select from the list. Turn on > select the device > . Please follow instructions in order to connect successfully. Also, please verify if WINDOWS is current with cumulative updates.

    Screen Issues

    Arrived nicely and worked great for a few days. My screen then began to glitch and after a few days, it didn’t even turn on, which is very unfortunate because I would recommend this laptop, but I just got a bad model.

      This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.


      If the above-mentioned steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application.     BAD QC like other reviews say. Mine came with a dead black pixel. Cannot get an exchange since item is constantly out of stock. NO, ASUS I DO NOT WANT A REFURBISHED REPLACEMENT. I just bought this days ago, and want brand new working laptop.

    Another disappointment. After this was set up by the Geek Squad - errors! I had my fill of the new ASUS laptops. 2 computers and both died after a few days. Terrible to invest that much money and then have so much trouble. I decided to get a different brand!

    Purchased the unit got it home whenever the unit was placed in turbo mode any game i tried to play would crash. Returned the unit to my local best but got a second unit, the second unit has a blown speaker

    The service of Santana row store is bad.

    It was a very bad experience, when I was trying to pick-up my laptops, the order showed my sister’s name, and she is in Europe right now. The staffs decided to stop me from claiming my items and didn’t give me any solutions to fix the situation. They left me to figure it out myself.

    I’ve owned a ton of high end gaming laptops, from Razer, MSI, Alienware etc. I had a G14 prior to this and thoroughly enjoyed it, but found the RTX2060 lacking a bit and caught a phenomenal deal on an open box G15 (I buy all of my laptops Open Box when they’re running specials at BB, use them for a year or so, sell them for what I have in them and upgrade) Pros: Screen is phenomenal, 2k with vibrant colors and high SRGB accuracy. Settings can be tweaked for optimal battery life if you’re using this as a dual purpose unit, crank out some spreadsheets and then easily hop into your favorite game. Keyboard feels wonderful, tactile feel and the trackpad is glassy smooth. I have not experienced wear like some have reported, but I use this to casually game when on the road. Temps stay low and the performance doesn’t decrease due to impressive thermal engineering, the vapor chambers seem superior in routing in comparison to other high end units. Build quality is excellent, I still prefer the aluminum unibody of the Razer laptops, but this is a VERY close second with the magnesium body. It has been able to handle every single game thrown at it with max settings with ease. Cyberpunk plays flawless, COD, Apex, all run max settings with ease. This will run whatever you need it to and the 3070 is more than capable with the delta in performance to the mobile 3080 being minuscule, I would definitely save the money and opt for the 3070. Cons: No webcam (This is not a work PC for me and I can always use my phone for meeting is needed, so not a real con for me) Expandability is incredibly limited and disappointing. I love Razer Blades for their ease of disassembly and just how easy they are to swap out RAM, M.2 drives, even the battery is a 15 minute swap if needed. The Zephyrus on the other hand is a nightmare to work on in comparison, RAM is soldered and most of the components require a steady hand, finesse and patience to properly replace, I would give this a 3/10 for end user serviceability. All in all, this is an excellent machine out of the box and the pinnacle of Asus’ gaming machines. If user serviceability doesn’t matter to you and you have no need for a webcam, you would be hard pressed even today to find a better performing system for the money (Open box is sub $1k which is insane for the performance you’re getting).

    Returning due to cluster of dead pixels

    Out of the box I noticed a black dot in the center of the screen. Cluster of dead pixels the size of a medium point sharpie. Very disappointing that this screen was not disqualified by quality control at Asus. Returning to store.

    GPU bad from day 1

    Bought the laptop new, the GPU malfunction from the first power on. I do not even need to be playing a game for the GPU to malfunction, very sad. I ordered a different brand for the quality, after reading about how many people have had quality problem with the Rog Zephyrus.

    Good laptop - better used as a desktop

    + Good specs + very reliable so far(3 years out) - runs HOT This is best designed as a desktop replacement, and used with an external monitor and keyboard. The laptop runs VERY hot when gaming, so much that the laptop surface(area between the keys) gets uncomfortably hot to the touch. When used as a desktop, you'll need to store it vertically and cracked open somewhat /\ so that it can cool, but I think that's just due to the power requirements of modern laptops. For any prospective buyers, be aware that running HDMI goes through the CPU and will result in a performance hit. Make sure to route displayport through the USB-c ports for the GPU to kick in.

    Garbage. Screen wouldn’t stop flickering black the moment I bought it. Tried everything from updating drivers to losing my refresh rate. Nothing did the trick. I see this is a common problem with this brand and I should’ve listened to the reviews.
