Cool laptop for what I need and want.

Possible 3rd exchange

My current laptop has a dent and on its display that could possibly be the cause of before being placed inside the box. But besides that, after a windows update I get dog water audio internal speakers in my current laptop.

Amazing laptop

The power in this laptop is amazing, and it runs extremely smooth. Additionally this is one of the lightest gaming laptops I've ever had, its lighter than my older acer 15.5 inch that houses a AMD Ryzen 7. When you start playing games it does run hot naturally, and it can get pretty loud when the fan kicks in, but it has great ventilation. While I was playing some games the CPU temperature was consistently at 64°

Maybe I’m just unlucky

Tried update drive, went into BIOS to change battery settings, nothing worked. Now I have to bookmark every tabs before I even go to the fricking bathroom! Don’t get me started on throttling, my old laptop with 1660 ti make less noise and heat than this, while playing the same game with same settings! (Granted the performance is better on every games on this laptop).

Speaker is defective! Don’t buy!!!!

My right speaker is defective as is so many other peoples that I’ve read on this review. Asus must know of this problem and just doesn’t care. When you first start up your laptop Cortana comes and and you can clearly hear the pop defect when she talks. Best Buy needs to set up and quit selling this laptop!

3 defective laptops in 24hrs.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through 3 of these in 24hrs. all defective. 1st one had really bad screen backlight bleed. 2nd one the bottom screen bezel warped and lifted after 15mins of gaming, I assume from heat. The 3rd was opened at the customer service counter, it had horrible screen bleed and the lid didn't sit flush with the body when closed. I usually love Asus laptops, but it is obvious this model/generation needs to go back to the drawing board.

Well, not a happy purchase

Comes with 8GB of soldered RAM. I looked over the ASUS's web page and i saw all of the variants listed there have 16GB of soldered RAM and i thought that i can safely purchase it from BestBuy. Unfortunately, BestBuy seems to have made a deal with ASUS to source a gimped version that has less RAM. I wish that BestBuy was upfront about this gimped version. So, i returned. I am not OK with vendors soldering RAM on this kind of models, but i was gonna keep the laptop had it been with 16GB RAM soldered.

Do Not Buy ASUS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!. ASUS is a garbage company with garbage support. Laptop broke, I sent it back to them, they sent it back to me unfixed after having to deal with their rude and uncooperative customer support. Within less than a year a gaming laptop shouldn't break. All I did was game on it about 4 hours a night, but that seemed to break the dang thing after 11 months. Keyboard stopped working, display went black periodically, games started crashing my computer when using it while all my friends I was playing with were curious what happened to me, and also the power supply charger stopped working. I sent it back to them as it was within the 12 month warranty. They were unhelpful on the phone call and I had to be assertive just to get them to take back their dang product that basically broke within a year. It took about a month for them to "fix" it and send it back to me. It was supposed to be fixed, and lucky for them it was outside of the 12 month warranty because they basically didn't fix much. The key board still stops working, and when I play cold war my game continually crashes while all my friends continually play fine. laterally all they did is swap out my power supply. Total piece of junk with total piece of junk support who can give a crap about their product once some sucker buys it. I will never in my life buy another ASUS again! Shame on Best Buy for selling such a junk product and I'm telling the world about ASUS and their failure as a company.

12-hour window

The window of arrival is anywhere between 9 am and 9 pm. There is no tracking number and no way to get a rough time frame. You have to sign for it, so be prepared to call in sick to work or school so you can sit home. That's just ridiculous.

Bricked after 5 days

Best Buy couldn’t fix it, had no other device to exchange, and wouldn’t honor discount on similar product. All in all a bad experience with the product and the pretty terrible customer service at Best Buy. Looking online this appears to be a common problem with the model. I wouldn’t recommend this product or shopping at Best Buy.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, the wireless device not working after a few days of usage is a random problem. If a recent Windows update was installed, please try to uninstall the update to resolve the issue. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.

Bad batch?

This is bad. 2 units were dead on arrival: 3rd unit has driver issues. Specifically, the wifi adapter just disappears randomly--as if it goes to airplane mode. Undetectable, and can only be repaird after multiple restarts. Screen goes to sleep (audio still on) and wont wake up--hard power off required.
