He's a mechanical engineering student & avid gamer. He LOVES this awesome laptop. Very responsive in gaming and still has enough power for what he needs in classes.

But, after a few weeks, I noticed the device was running very hot. The cooling fans were operating on full speed and the charger became too hot to touch. I brought the laptop back to Best Buy, and they were able to help me in the search for a different laptop. So far, so good.

We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications, processes and services are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Bought Twice, went with another Asus Instead

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Feel, Power, Battery life and ergonomics is great and amazing. first one I bought had a creaking sound around the screen and a great amount of Backlight bleed, 2nd(same exact model) had a more worse issue. I assume it's just a bad batch or me just noticing the backlight bleed. The Zephyrus M16 has a better screen and the same ergonomics and feel if any of you out there want the same without the annoying problems.

The aniME matrix doesn't appear to be available on this laptop, but it looks like a similar display backplate. The display is actually built in such a way that when you push it back, it brings the keyboard up to an ergonomic angle and allows more airflow for the fans. It has a super simple appearance other than the led keyboard(which can be synced to the wallpaper"live wallpaper". It also compiles code faster than anything I've used.

The laptop is very fast and powerful; however in just a few months, the display no longer works. When I turn "On" the laptop, The display is backlit, but nothing else. Very disappointed with this purchase. My older laptop is 12 years old and still works perfectly. The battery life is great; about 15 hours.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.very nice and pleased overall, my 2 issues are, a) during boot up, the bios loads and then you are prompted with a loud sound "republic of gamers", it is way to loud and will definitely effect the speakers in time, i tried to make adjustments in the setting, but could not figure it out.b) the fan is very loud when your FPS is in full swing, my wife was like "take it back" lol, imo, its not that bad, its a keeper

USB stopped working, key presses don't register. All the 3rd party add on apps don't stop bugging you.

I typically use laptops for several years and this one has exceeded all of my expectations so far. Its a fantastic workhorse when plugged in, and gets great battery life. Great performance on all benchmarks so far. Also, this beast has one of the best screens I have ever worked with, (DCI-P3 100%) and is color calibrated from the factory.

Only complaint is heat - I know its a laptop and AMD runs hot to begin with but this one has has some odd heat distribution property and can rev up fast, or get really hot, take the time to tailor the fan speeds to your liking for an ideal experience
