Great value when it's on sale

I got this for gaming online and it runs great! It does have very loud fans. Like an airplane taking off. But if you plan on getting a laptop cooling pad, it mitigates the noise level. If you just want to use this for browsing the internet, you can change the settings to "quiet mode" to keep the fan low but this laptop generates a lot of heat. I think it's a good deal when it's on sale. Also, the built in camera sucks.

Overall: excellent laptop for gaming, schoolwork, and anything else.
Pros: AMD Ryzen 9, RTX 3060, and DDR5 RAM
Cons: short battery life buts that’s to be expected because of how power hungry the CPU and GPU are. Recently, I’ve been playing Assasins Creed Origins at 1440p and I get incositent frames anywhere from 60-80.
I would recommed this laptop to anyone that needs a powerful laptop capable of gaming, content creation, and video editing.

This is my first high end gaming laptop. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this seemed like the best bang for your buck especially when it’s on sale. Runs every game I play without any problems. Also great for work. I did end up purchasing a cooling pad for it because it does run a little hot while gaming. Other than that no issues! If you’re looking for a great gaming laptop this is it!

Great gaming laptop with 1 big FLAW!!

Great gaming laptop with 1 big FLAW!! lets jump into it!
So let start with the spec sheet - It checks all the lists
AMD Ryzen 9 -
16GB DDR5 Memory -
NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti -
1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
15.6" WQHD 165Hz
Very nice setup - works smooth and gaming performance was top notch. I played several games from Gamepass and they ran great!
Out of the box was a bit of setup though - nothing technical. Just a lot of downloads to get Windows 11 setup and then the adjustment of learning how to run that OS. Nothing against the machine - it is what it is! Got the machine up and running and it was smooth sailing from there.
As for the machine itselt - Very study build - feels solid! Has all the ports you want - HDMI, USB-C, SS USB, even has a MicroSD card slot(really used this alot for my GoPRo and Drone file transfers) and a Full Network Jack. So for me - I didn't have to throw those adapters in the bag!
Sound is nice and loud if you prefer this over headphones - Got a fairly nice sound stage that seemed to carry beyond the laptop space.
Once loaded up - I LOVED the armory Crate app - I was able to GEEK out on all the specs here
CPU speed/Temp/Usage,, GPU usage, Memory and Storage usage and freespace, its all here. No need for several 3rd party apps. Several customization options here as well - KBD color, startup animation/sounds, key mapping, etc. Lots of things to setup the machine the way you want.
Physical keyboard layout is simple and clean - standard keyboard with only 5 extra keys atop - volume up, volume down, Volume Mute, and AURA key - these can be mapped with macros as well. Then the power on/off button.
So now lets discuss this Flaw. I hate the screen hinges. I think this is big deal for me. You can check the pics I added but I will try to explain. So when you open the laptop, the screen goes BELOW the base of the laptop essentially sitting on the screen lid itself. It is my opinion that ASUS was aware as they molded fins to rub! This puts so much on the hinges. (I will say the hinges do feel solid, but i didn't have enough time to test the resiliency of them over a period of time. If you use the laptop with the screen at a 90 degree angle, it rests fully on the feet. Beyond that and tilting up - its on the screen lid.
I did have to knock 2 stars off for this design. As I think if you are on the go - this may be a deal breaker. As it is for me a HUGE concern.

The laptop is a beast and has super build quality. The performance on the QHD panel maximizes your game play when using the laptop to play heavy gaming.
I also used it for some machine learning programs and it performed expecpitionall well on the gpu.

I was skeptical when I initially purchased this laptop, but I am happy I did. I purchased this laptop for my son who is learning animation with Adobe Creative Cloud. I needed a laptop with excellent graphics, resolution, but could;d also be used for productivity. This gaming laptop is perfect for his needs.

Excellent build. Fairly easy to use performance interface. Good ventilation and fan control options. Battery capacity leaves something to be desired but i dont know of a performance laptop that doesnt. Used for casual gaming, audio and video editing.

This is my first gaming laptop, so most people may say "du" to my comments. 1) performance when gaming is very good, but it does heat up. After 90 minutes, my fingers felt like they were almost burning. Either a cooling pad or a separate game controller is required. 2) as a laptop, it is excellent. Good keyboard, solid construction, adequate camera. 3) Not too much in the way of bloatware, though the ASUS app and signup is a tad annoying. 4) the only annoyance is getting the backlighting for the keyboard to stay (probably me not understanding the settings, but it should not be this hard). I will update the review if there are any reliability issues later.

When i first got this laptop it wouldnt turn on which was a slight issue but after some time of constantly using almost everyday. I use it for everything school work, gaming, the whole thing. It does tend to get hot but that bound to happen in a gaming laptop you might want to get a storage upgrade and better RAM but overall a great laptop and was a great buy

Great Performance at an Affordable Price

The laptop being reviewed is a good choice for its price point of $1099 USD. The screen is satisfactory for both indoor and outdoor use but requires adjusting the angle when in direct sunlight. The speakers produce good sound quality but lack bass. The battery life is reasonable, lasting up to 7-8 hours with minimal usage in eco mode, silent mode, and battery saver mode. The laptop gets warm while in use but is tolerable. While gaming, the laptop should be placed on a flat surface and set to turbo mode to prevent heating. The laptop has an additional slot for a new SSD, but the current 512 GB SSD may not be enough for some users. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, with minimal flex, and the trackpad is responsive. However, it may take some time to adjust to the smaller keyboard size. It is important to adjust the settings in the Windows control panel and ASUS apps such as Armory Crate and update everything for optimal performance. One downside is that the screen colors may fade at random times due to an ASUS app, but this can be uninstalled. Overall, this laptop is a great option for its price point with good features and good build quality.

I have owned many laptops over the years but this one is by far the best. Has plenty of power for games and any other purpose you may need. It was super easy to get setup and started the new windows os is taking a little getting used to. I do however recommend a cooling pad because it will get super hot on you if not.

Great gaming laptop. I mostly use it for video editing and photoshop, but it runs most modern games at 1440p med-high settings at 60fps or above. It has a real slick design and its light as well. Only wish that it had a better looking screen for what it costs but overall I recommend it.

I like how compact and light this laptop is. I've been able to play GTA5 and The Sims 2 without any crashes. I'm able to use photoshop, OBS, Microsoft Word and play YouTube videos at the same time, so it's pretty powerful. I especially also like the illumination in the keyboard. The one thing I would have liked is a number pad, but I don't necessarily think it would fit in this compact laptop anyway. This is definitely something you might want if you commute or travel and still want to game! It is perfect!

Blazing fast! I do not know how they packed so much performance and large screen into such a light weight package. The price for all the features is good, too.

For being a gaming laptop, I'm impressed with the performance. Great screen when not using a monitor. My only criticism is how hot it gets when gaming, but that is expected with laptops using higher end GPUs.
