Well, it worked for the first month before having some issues. Just would not power on. This might seem silly but it felt cold due to the AC being on in the truck, I turned the heater on and next thing I knew it started working again. Wild. Surely a coincidence. Well, 2 weeks later won’t power on. Tested the power cord and it wasn’t working. I purchased another power cord, POP! the computer seems to be killing the power cords that come with it. I’ll let Geek Squad deal with it. Overall it’s a great computer, I imagine the issues I have with it can be chalked up to me being a caveman and noting being in touch with proper problem solving skills for this mater.

      Dear EricJ,

If the laptop will no longer boot up or it's just black screen, please do the following.

Verify if the AC adapter is connected properly from the laptop to a known good power outlet or AC source. Try another power source and use a surge protector just in case your power source is generating uncleaned power since this may trip or damaged the AC adapter or the laptop itself. Try to press and hold down the power button to shut it down completely, just in case laptop is not in hibernate mode, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until the battery was charged.

    ASUS dumpster fire

I purchased this laptop to replace a very reliable ASUS Q524UK from like 2015-2016. The Best Buy sales people were pushing this model hard around Black Friday, the specs are impressive and the unit itself looks really slick. I assumed with my excellent experience using the previous ASUS this was a sure bet and boy was I wrong. The system lasted (and struggled) for about a month before the motherboard died and I had to do a BB exchange for the same unit, once I got the 2nd unit setup and all of my data transferred over the 2nd unit was giving me startup errors, spinning cursors, driver failures, BIOS install failures and several freezes before I gave up and exchanged it for a much better HP Omen system. PROS: - Nice screen - Really cool enclosure - Armory crate software is excellent (in theory) CONS: - Air flow design -its loud loud and trash, when the lid is closed the rear fan is literally blowing right on onto the enclosed screen! The fans underneath are so large yet the system was always hot even - Port location and design - trash: Almost everything is on the left hand side of the unit, extremely clunky -You can only connect to a dock via USB-C only- except don't power it with USB-C (because supposedly that's not enough) I should mention - I contacted ASUS support multiple times to get clarification on using this with a Dock that provides USB-C power delivery and what the best way to go about that was (is running the power adapter + USB-C dock simultaneously safe?) and could not get an answer from multiple support "reps" about using a dock with power delivery, its not in the manual or specs and even "escalating" my question got me nowhere. Needless to say I couldn't return this thing fast enough, after 1 burned Motherboard and another system struggling from Day 1 - I will not be messing around with ASUS units ever again.

      Dear Cobrasandfire,

Undoubtedly, it has an impressive specifications with a slick look or aesthetics.

We certainly understand your disappointment with the quality of the teo laptop you received and the inconvenience this may have caused. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are random problems.
It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications, processes and services are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. The USB-C port supports a Hub with power delivery. However, this hub doesn't provide enough power to the laptop, it requires the AC adapter that came with it.

Amazing laptop and cooling system. Just that, since the heat vents are placed infront of the screen, the bottom part of the screen gets heated up. That's the only con. Everything else is amazing.

My daughter loved this for Christmas!! My only complaint was finding out the hard way that this unit does not have AniMe Matrix on it, where the back panel lights up and can be customized. I asked Best Buy employees and they said "sure". I wish they would just say I don't know or let me go dig. Plus to find out whether the unit actually has it installed, is not an easy task either.

Firstly the design of this laptop is amazing. Its extremely solid and well built with great attention to detail. The hinge is very solid and smooth. The buttons have a great feel with a perfect click. Typing is a cinch, and I can almost type as fast on this as I do my main keyboard. The screen is very bright with clear graphics, although it does not have a touch screen. But this is no big deal for me since I never use that on laptops. The resolution of 1900x1200 makes games not only look awesome, but everything is very crisp. Videos, games, documents, etc. are all look great. The track pad is very accurate and easy to use. I also really appreciate the amount of ports this laptop has. Some companies have tried to narrow ports down to allow for sleeker, slimmer designs. But this has every port I need and then some. The initial set up is fairly easy with Windows 11 Home. I am getting a lot better at navigating and using 11 being a long time 10 user. Set up and the initial update process took a little over an hour. But I didnt run into any issues. Performance wise this thing is awesome. Running multiple tasks, playing games, watching videos, etc. was a breeze. It does have a 512GB SSD which seems like it might be enough, and would have been in the past, but with some games coming in at over 100GB's you will probably want an external drive to store some stuff. Otherwise you are going to be constantly deleting and re-installing games for space. Thankfully it has Wi-Fi 6 so downloading games at high speed makes this a lot less of an issue. It does stay cool, but the fans can get a bit loud when they need to ramp up during heavy use. (Usually while gaming). But Id rather have the fans a bit loud then have super quiet fans that just dont have enough cooling causing lag and other issues. Speaking of cool, another cool feature is the back lit keyboard that is customiseable. The Dolby Atmos sound is also great. It surprised me just how good small built in speakers can sound. And of course this being a gaming laptop it does this and does it well. The intel i7 and RTX 3060 graphics combine for powerful gaming. Games play smooth and at high frame rates with no lag that I saw anywhere. And I was also pleasantly surprised at the battery life. In the past getting over 3 hours was great, but with this I was consistently getting about 5 hours which is amazing. Overall I am very pleased with the Asus ROG Zephyrus laptop. Beautiful solid design, plenty of ports, Windows 11, Intel i7, and RTX 3060 graphics all come together to create an awesome gaming laptop package. As well as 5 hours of battery life to game on the go. Looks like Ill be taking this with me and my Switch might just get some shelf time.

I’m not into fancy lighting or gimmicky animation. The laptop itself is very capable and sleek. I would have to sing it on its design flaws. 1. Why put the power in the middle of the side panel? That gets in the way of the other ports. 2. Why have a screen that comes down and blocks the airflow from the exhaust vents? The specs in this is pretty good for if you get it when it is on sale for several hundreds of dollars off. Otherwise this would have been a pass for. I also like that this isn’t bogged down with bloatware. Just MS Office and McAfee both of which can be removed.

Really like the laptop, but the battery only lasted two months, now i am with a good laptop that only works plugged, to make matters worse, i am not going to be in the us for work and i cannot make a change... it was weird, at the start the battery got discharged with the laptop off, don't know if it is the battery or something worst.
