Ol’ Reliable
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted something more reliable than a basic mac so I could work on college assignments and play games while saving money since I don’t play console. I went ahead and splurged on this laptop a while back. Great performance on the laptop so far. I downloaded RDR2, Sea of Thieves, Subnautica, Diablo4, Overwatch, LOL, VAL, Fortnite, and other smaller games (only have OW, SoT, and Diablo4, and Roblox as of this moment). Fan gets really loud when in turbo/high performance mode which makes sense, majority of the stuff I play takes heavy storage space and the battery isn’t late, but it’s always plugged in so I don’t have much of an issue on that part. Bit of a slow startup when loading bigger games but I’m more than patient to play my favorites. This things pretty awesome.

Very good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good machine, it has great power and can run anything the only cons of this machine is that it comes with 512gb is you buy this for gaming it will eventually end up with no space i bought an extra 16gb ram to add and will swap out the ssd.Adding ram can increase its efficiency in editing.Overall great machine.

This laptop crushes it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is incredibly nice for the price. Everybody I have showed is impressed with how good it looks and how well everything runs on it. Been playing Apex, Warzone, Baldurs Gate III. Only thing is it could use more space but for a lot of games I can use external storage.

Still the gaming laptop to beat
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus has been on a roll lately with their products, and this latest version of the G14 with the Ryzen 9 and RTX 4060 is very powerful while keeping the same compact form factor. That being said, it would have been cool if Asus updated the design of the hardware. If you look at this laptop and the one from the last two years, it’s hard to tell them apart. This new version has a Matte feeling texture coating on the inside. It was a welcome change. It feels comfortable against my Palms and it doesn’t absorb your hands oils. The 4060 comes with 8gb of VRAM. It has performed very good with every game I have installed. I play Fortnite, Rocket League, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland and Destiny 2. Not the most demanding titles, but they all run great at their highest settings with this laptop. They all managed to run at 120fps while plugged in. The screen on this skew looks like an IPS monitor to my eyes, there is some IPS type blooming when looking at dark screens. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me. But it is a very beautiful screen though. It is bright and very vibrant. The colors pop and look saturated. It has 165hz refresh rate and I could not notice any ghosting or input lag. I like the aspect ratio of the screen, it takes advantage of every inch. There is hardly any bezel so when you play a game in full screen, the game pretty much fills all the screen real estate. I really like the screen. It makes it feel a little larger than 14”. If you really plan on taking a gaming laptop with you everywhere, I definitely recommend this 14” over 15.6” or larger. It is so lightweight and hardly takes up any space in my backpack. The keyboard is very responsive and tactile, I’m still not a huge fan of the RGB lighting on this keyboard. It’s hard to tell what keys you’re looking at sometimes with the backlights on. I usually turn them off or choose a blue or green color so that I can see the keys better against the white chiclet keys. There is plenty of ports on this laptop 2 of which are USB C ports which support USB 3.2. I immediately purchased an external 1 TB SSD for this laptop because frankly the 512gb of internal space just isn’t sufficient. I have 4 games installed and I only have about 127gb of free storage available now. So I would highly recommend that you either get an external SSD or upgrade it internally. I personally don’t plan on upgrading the drive internally because the games load just as fast off the external SSD I purchased for it. Battery life is decent when not gaming on the battery. Performance is surprisingly good while on battery. I was able to play rocket league and Destiny 2 at 120fps for about 3 hours before I had to plug it in to charge. I prefer to keep the laptop plugged in when gaming because you’ll get much better performance from the processor and GPU when plugged in, but the battery should get you through a full day if you just do some light web browsing or work / media consumption on it. Would I recommend this laptop? I’m going to go ahead and say yes.. definitely. The Ryzen 9 chip is very fast while and sips battery power and the Nvidia 4060 will probably be able to run most games coming in the next 5 years. I just really wish Asus would have included at least a 1TB internal drive. Game files are massive now, and 512gb just isn’t enough. If you plan on playing call of Duty on this, you’ll easily fill almost 1/3 of its capacity. I still have to give it a 5 star rating though, this little laptop is very impressive for its size and weight and it is probably the best gaming laptop money can buy in this form factor.

Excellent gaming laptop with few downsides
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ROG (Republic of Gamers) is a brand which ASUS introduced in 2006 that is geared towards gamers. ROG Gaming laptops have always been top notch in terms of build quality, hardware and performance. G14 in the recent times has been the most hyped ROG laptop. Between 2022 and 2023 the design and overall exterior has not changed much. ASUS has mainly focussed on the internal specs to create something spectacular and I would say ASUS has finished this in style. Some of the most significant and noticeable changes are ditching the AMD GPUs for Nvidia's latest RTX 4000 chipset, Vapor-chamber cooling module to name a few. First impression: ASUS has put lot of thought process in creating this Moonlight White beauty. The box was big from outside. It made me think that the Laptop is going to be heavy but i was wrong. This laptop weighs only 3.64 pounds. The laptop was very neatly packed. While I opened the box, the laptop was getting elevated. It changed my entire initial perception about this laptop. ASUS has nailed almost every single thing. Let it be the box design or Laptop exterior or Internal specs you name it. The laptop is aesthetically designed to give a premium look as well as there are lots of vents to cool the laptop down. The case is made out of Aluminum, Magnesium alloy and plastic. Even though the laptop is light weight the build quality is excellent. There is no cheap plastic of whatsoever. The laptop looks sturdy. The charger is a little bigger in size as it is 280 W when compared to the 2022 model which was just 240 W. Upon opening the lid the ROG logo is displayed with an impressive sound greeting makes it feel more welcoming. As we continue opening the lid due to the 180 degree Ergolift display the keypad starts tilting upwards which gives a wonderful feel. We can almost slide the lid down a little more than 180 degrees. Pros: 1. Processor - This laptop comes with the most powerful AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU and RTX 4060 GPU featuring AMD Smartshift and Smart Access Memory technology with 8 cores and 16 threads to handle the most latest games. AMD SmartShift technology dynamically shifts power in the laptop to help boost performance for gaming, video editing, 3D rendering, content creation and productivity. This helps increase the performance by upto 14% especially for gamers and while editing videos. The laptop features a hardware boosting interface between the Processor and Graphics with machine learning algorithms to automatically boost performance where workloads demand it. Smart Access Memory technology - With this technology, a CPU can now utilize a much larger portion of memory from the GPU when needed. That means Smart Access Memory can help fix slowdowns and other problems that resulted from the CPU not being able to handle all the operations that the GPU threw its way. 2. Display - This laptop features a Nebula QHD 165 Hz ultra bright 500 nits display. This a huge improvement in the refresh rate which improves the overall quality of the games. Gamers will be able to experience a mind blowing gaming experience with greater refresh rates. 3. MUX Switch for intense gamers - MUX Switch can be turned on from inside the Armoury Crate. For the first time users, installation and initialization of Armoury crate will take about 5 to 10 min and we will have to restart the laptop upon installation. Once installed and after restarting the computer it will be possible to turn the MUX switch on to switch to Direct GPU mode to reduce any latency and boost the performance by upto 9%. 4. Memory - This laptop comes with a 16 GB of next generation Dual channel DDR5 RAM which can be expanded upto 32 GB. Dual channel memory (8 GB + 8 GB) helps to increase the performance of gaming or video editing or content creation. 4800 Mhz DDR5 memory standard allows this laptop to do multi tasking as well. 5. Wifi connectivity - Wifi 6E standard helps to connect to the 6 GHz frequency band other than the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Even though this technology has been there for few years now, it will take few more years before the router manufacturers start providing the 6 GHz bands as a standard in the mid range routers. 6 GHz band will be like a fast lane especially helpful to avoid any slowness or latency issues. 6. ROG Intelligent cooling - Depending on how demanding the tasks are the system will automatically choose between different cooling modes intelligently. The laptop never got overheated so far. 7. RGB keyboard - This keyboard is so stylish. The keys are clearly visible when backlit in RGB color. Also the keys are quite and very soft. The keys are spaced correctly and makes it very easier to use. 8. Ports - 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C Ports on each sides, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports and 1 Micro USB port on the right, Charging, HDMI and Headphone jack gives us lots of ports to connect various devices and to transfer the files quickly. USB 4.0 port is still not there. 9. Battery - So far the battery has lasted over 3.5 hours with not too much of stress. Even with intense gaming i think the laptop will last over 3 hours. Cons: 1. Storage - The major downside of this laptop is the storage. ASUS should have atleast provided a 1 TB storage for this price point. I am little disappointed because 512 GB of space is too little especially on a Gaming laptop as the installation of games or video editing softwares and storing the videos for content creators will easily occupy more than 512 GB. ASUS should seriously consider upgrading the storage to 1 TB for all the Gaming laptops. 2. No SD Card slot - Though there is a micro SD card slot, this laptop does not have the SD Card slot. Being a content creator i rely on SD Card slot which is missing on this laptop. It would have been nice if there was a SD Card slot too. Overall this is a wonderful laptop for anyone who wants a powerful laptop with plethora of options. This laptop is a strong contender for Acer predator Triton 300, Razer Blade 14 and Alienware X14. But i strongly feel ASUS has that all that it needs to be a worthy contender. You will not regret for buying this laptop.

Sleek and Minimalistic
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the sleek, minimalistic design and am a big fan of the matte white finish. The performance is great for the price, especially if you can pick it up during a sale. The screen is beautiful and vibrant, making watching YouTube and browsing the web a treat. It runs smoothly when using editing software (in my case, SolidWorks 2023). It's a great choice if you're looking for something that looks like a Mac but is running windows, considering the branding of ROG (Republic of Gamers). This PC doesn't scream 'gamer,' which I like. The only downside I have with it is the facial recognition to sign in isn't the best and only really works when you're looking at the camera from a certain angle; even then, it doesn't work most of the time. My second complaint is the mousepad. It isn't as responsive as I would like, and its size makes it hard to navigate basic tasks. The Storage capacity in this model is absurd. A 1TB SSD is what it should be rather than 512GB. Keep in mind, windows 11 takes up a chunk of that space. The laptop does get a little hot if you're doing demanding tasks, such as playing video games. I would recommend getting a laptop stand to address the heat issue. I give this laptop an 7/10.

Great system (uninstall armour crate)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this item for close to a month now and it’s amazing. I’m not a huge laptop/pc person but I am a gamer so here’s my overall thoughts Most AAA games run great on this with most of the games I’ve played running high on its quality settings, that being said though it’s important to keep note of the temperature of your CPU and GPU as overheating is not that uncommon, all it takes is a bit of tweaking (and maybe even uninstalling armour crate) for some good consistent temps. The 16gb of ram is okay, it’s kinda what you expect. I rarely ever cap it out outside of a minecraft server with a ton of mods lol. But the available ram slot is definitely awesome and I do see myself upgrading in the future. The SSD is a pain tho. Being only around 500gb it doesn’t hold much especially with how much space new games require, but thankfully that is upgradable as well. If you’re getting this for school and like gaming on the side, this is amazing. Like I mentioned earlier uninstalling armour crate is useful for your temps, you don’t need half the stuff there and I wish I knew that because I’ve had to lower my graphics a lot just because of the temps. Anyways that being said, it’s a great system, good size, enough ports for everything you need, overall a good product.

Incredible first time experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only issues I have with this is not enough storage and that 16G of Ram doesn't feel enough. Despite that, after a year+ of use, it still runs pretty good and does what I need it to do, although there were times where I felt as though it was running too hot. Was worth getting as my introduction to PC gaming.

Great Laptop and Value When on Sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very solid product for price. Bought the 4060 version, and has run very well. I enjoy the bigger trackpad and 1080p webcam on this model. Like any other laptop, just be careful when handling the internals such as upgrading hard drive or RAM. You don't want to discharge anything. The storage could have been double, but I am not being picky when the discounted price was $1100. Other than that runs very smooth and especially quiet when you undervolt and adjust fan settings.

Powerful Laptop in a Small Package
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a powerful laptop for the price. It's a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be for what's inside. That being said, make sure you invest in a proper cooling mat as this thing generates a fair amount of heat. Would have liked a larger screen and a larger storage drive. It only has one hdmi port off the RTX card for extending screens and you have to use the other display ports on the embedded graphics. There is only one m.2 slot but the storage and ram is easily accessible.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is good, but need to have extra add ons so price is higher than it shows.
