||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros -slick,nice feel ,durable, handles most games escape from tarkov , pal world , warzone , battlefield 2042 very good not much fps drops Now the bad- very loud fans will max right out not even fully loading up a game ,and i mean extremely loud , the battery plug is in the middle of the keyboard on the side so makes it weird typing if you have big hands also seems to be very loose and will break easy the back lit keys are dim you can hardly see them after about 5 mins of game play you get a weird burnt plastic smell coming from the laptop which made me look into the thermals more this thing runs stupid hot cpu sits about 75c to 80c doing nothing the gpu will shut off if just sitting and the cpu will take over handling your display but during game play the gpu will take back over and will go from 73c to 80c in about 20 to 30 mins of game play i would recommend a cooling pad If you dont mind noise and can upgrade the storage and possibly add better cooling to it this thing would be great but i am gonna return mine

Could be better for 2 Grand
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did take some time before deciding to purchase this product. I realized I was never going to get ahold of a black shell version of this with a 4070. My Best buy location only had this version available which decided for me to cough up $1700 for a 4060. Don't get me wrong the AMD processor is good! The way I see this is it will be good for 1080p gaming - nothing more. I purchased this laptop for the slim design and hardware specifications it came with it. I have been using it for work which is reliable and during my downtime - I can play Street Fighter 6 on the highest settings. Although once joining a server that is crowded, you will see frames drop. The only reason I have minus three stars was the availability and limited selection at my Las Cruces, NM Best Buy. Most of the Sales Associates were hesitate to answer my questions about how will the machine will hold up. I didnt feel reassured about the requirements I needed in a Laptop - the only thing I would have to fall back on is the 13 day return policy; which is over now and currently I'm typing this review on the machine. My advice - hold off on this machine , buy I believe which is the 2022 version. Yes you will not have the 165 hz that this machine displays due to the previous having 120 hz.....BUT you will see how you get a 3070 ti or higher for about 900$ or more. Instead of paying - from what I personally think is overpriced for a 4060 Laptop with a 512gb SSD and a battery that probaly lasts less than two hours while gaming. I have invested into a 256gb Micro SD card for additional Storage but I have already looked into replacing the built in NvME 512gb SSD, buying additional DDR5 4800 mhz 16gb RAM, and a 1TB Micro SD Card which is about another $200+

Completely died within 2 weeks.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked pretty great for a couple weeks. Then, all the sudden no power, no lights, completely dead after charging overnight. I took it to Best Buy and they told me they can't replace it, they directed me over to geek squad who then told me "in order for us to send your machine to the factory for the warranty, you have to set up an appointment.. Is there anything else we can help you with??..." I was completely shocked by this, I said ".... Yeah.. can I set up an appointment....???" Really bad customer service and really unprofessional and inconvenient process. My "appointment" is tomorrow so we'll then see how long it takes for the laptop to get serviced.

Great Laptop, Bad Service
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The actual laptop is a beast, bought it on a deal and I handles anything I throw at it. However, I bought mine on open box excellent which meant that it should have no cosmetic signs of damage. It arrived with a chip in the screen. I took it in to my local best buy where I had picked it up from but they said they couldn’t do anything about it, nore could they give me any money back for the difference in open box qualities I received. Good laptop, bad service

Not the most reliable, pray to the build gods
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing screen, great aesthetics, horrible stability. I really dig the design of this, compact, sleek, looks good. Had it for a week and returned it. Constantly crashing (at least once an hour) playing helldivers 2. Drivers were up-to-date, 3 clean windows installs, ghelper app (armory crate would causes crash just browsing). Thing runs hot, I was at one point, running the game at it's lowest setting and keeping the temps at bay but it still crashed. Crashed in other games too so I gave up. Not worth the headache. This sat on a laptop cooling pad too. My 6 yr old dell that it was supposed to replace doesn't crash. I've built most of my desktops with ASUS products and that's not likely to change, but their laptops need better QC. Doing factory resets was pretty easy to do. Cloud installs is a blessing. keyboard was okie, the trackpad is huge and kinda weird to find the right click. if you get a stable build, totally worth it when it's on sale. But counting on a build lottery is iffy for a 1.5k laptop (msrp)

Wanted to like it, but had too many issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, if it weren’t for some issues I couldn’t ignore, I would’ve really liked this machine. The portability, performance, build, and sound quality ate some of the best for the 14 in gaming laptop category. However I kept having issues where it wouldn’t boot or it appeared it was trying to boot for more than 5 min. Second error was it would randomly restart on its own, especially if it went to sleep.

QC issues still present in 2023 model
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop performs very well and scores high on benchmarks. The only problem are the QC issues that I've experienced so far. There are dead spots on the trackpad that stop me from scrolling, clicking, dragging etc. as it often glitches out or stops working as I try to use these functionalities. Other than this, when playing the laptop speakers for the first time, I experienced crackling on the left speaker. I really wanted to love this laptop, but the QC issues really stop me from being able to. They should have been improved upon ever since the 2022 g14 was released and deemed notorious for their qc issues... to me it seems ASUS is really capitalizing on their popularity instead of fixing previously known problems...

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is incredibly powerful however, the bottom of the laptop is always extremely hot. Even when plugged the battery charger feels like its almost left in a sauna. Also, this battery drains fast. The fan is loud and you can hear it especially if the room is silent. I would've kept this laptop if only the heating wasn't the issue; however, its very worrisome when your just googling and the top of the keyboard panel feels like it was its been left outside on a sunny hot day.

Good laptop but has its own issues
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a decent laptop, specs were fair for the price and it did everything I needed it to, aside from the not as great as expected battery life from a 14" laptop, which was one of the reasons I purchased it. The biggest issue is a 2-part thing: First, ASUS's software isn't great, replace it with g-helper if you can if you want to resolve a lot of potential issues (which you really shouldn't have to do on a new laptop), and secondly, a somewhat common issue I only found out about recently had begun occuring where the keyboard would just disconnect and would only work after waiting for ~5 minutes or restarting the computer, which is beyond frustrating. I tried checking all the forums and trying different settings in the ADUS software/BIOS (with the laptop and Windows both being up-to-date), and decided my time would be better spent with a newer laptop anyways, which hopefully wouldn't have this issue. I still like ASUS and would still suggest them, but would recommend against this laptop unless there is a screaming deal or am easy solution is found.

heats even in sleep, only 1 main slot and 1 ram
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overheats easily don't let it sleep without good airflow. Can't just sit it anywhere for a trip without making sure it's off even if plan on using in 10 minutes. Even when using go Manual in Armour crate and turn fans on high. Already out of date for current market. 1 SSD slot and 1 RAM DDR5 slot hitting 4800 MHZ only fully up to date. Trackpads are off and many reviews on it that they didn't pay attention until too late. Ends up being warranty to where many ended up with same issue same with the Main SSD if it goes down there's only 1 so you're out unless you have a spare that can get bootable. Running even on a knee be prepared for nearly burning your leg and laptop running hot. Was given that advice actually by an employee after buying it. Works well as a browsing light use with cooling pad or airflow ready desk holes platform. Newer version from what I read and saw is less upgradeable no ram slot if I remember correctly so get at least a 32GB now a days in my opinion and experience. I upgraded and let my wife use it switched to upgradeable ddr5 that's a little better 5200mhz. Hoping for some chipset or bios upgrades to open 5600mhz on mine but. Lastly is screen! As I said it gets hot and as I'm disabled on one leg that's good but hard to see. Chest or stomach going to need a cooling pad but about the only way to really get view unless you want emblems and font Large. Definitely wasn't for me and it's only a 4060 atleast can get some decent power but 4070 with power in other models for same amount would make more sense. Laptops are getting lighter and smaller as they do onboard systems for a lot unfortunately.. Smaller it gets less likely for upgradeable or quick fix without a send in. Battery life is actually not bad mY Asus likes to use battery Saver keeping it at 80% instead of 100 when plugged in so if about to leave make sure to enable instant 100 before leaving and would bring charger as it's not amazing it still drains faster than others less than some others in it's same class. Lastly unfortunately as many are following suit they don't run a SD slot and less USB and connection options not terrible compared to others in that but still disappointing. Add all to the cost and can end up with e better cooled, better specs more ports add little weight and space though so all in all it's ok for light use and display is light compared to a 240hz or better type of display with higher nitts if needed. However if on a desk and running external cooled mostly and small trips. Then sure can look at as an option but SSD only 1 and 1 slot for ram. As all games, files, pictures and videos increase it's buy space and store online or have some drives ready. The Good: Micro SD slot can be used as a second drive / storage good for desktop and external picture and video in that aspect. Just going to make sure you buy for the right options and be prepped for a lot of negatives that some don't have. POWER- check the power ratio to the video cards and it's better and can pull more than some 4070 and 4080 etc It does get power to that 4060 while is running warm it's still performing better than some so called better cards due to power output which is important to pay attention to. Reason to buy- For me it was power to card it was a better option than many 4070 getting about half the power input and delegation. So if editing, doing websites and gaming it can still outperform other systems that look better on paper Take a look at power cord wattage and percentage sent to the graphics is something I had to learn after wasting time and money on a couple 4070 that were half the bank and half or less making it to the graphics. SO THIS OUTPERFORMED HIGHER GRAPHICS 4070 or better.. a 4080 or better now still won't really matter if getting 30watts to it. SMALL AND SLIM LIGHT it is and POWER is there but it does mean heat however compared to other options it'll out perform "better cards" "better screens" if the power isn't there from not only the power bank. but not delegated and sent to the proper aspects Based on the trackpad being off, overheating for me, small and hard to see than a 15-16 on knee or chest and getting toasty nearly burning melting.. Just can't say it fits a large group of what portable aspects, lightweight, or laying down with it. Heat issues destroy a lot of reasons I wanted it wife loves it to use canva for maybe an hour but has accidently let it overheat in sleep as it still runs especially on pillow, blanket, non breathable surface while you expect no to minimum heat it's there!

A big Asus Disappoinment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping I would be able to game when I am traveling for business, but it didn't work out. The laptop was a bit heavy, plus it would get hot while on my lap. Asus disappointed me yet again with their ROG Laptops, battery life was horrible while doing basic web surfing. The gaming performance was good, but I rather game on a Desktop. Another drawback was while the laptop was on your lap the monitor would stick out and would bother my knees. I didn't like that this laptop would not charge via USB C, but would only charge by barrel charger.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It seems that the 2023 version of the G14 had more QoL issues than the last 2 years. During my time with the device, I had exchange it 2 times and I had to deal with many issues. 1. Webcam don't work, gives an error even though W11 detects it. 2. Charger failed during the 1st day. 3. Dead pixels right out of the box. 4. WiFi not working. (had to manually download drivers from another PC) Which sucks because I loved this laptop a lot, from its design to its combination of specs. When it didn't have any issues, it ran like a dream (after the usual G14 debloat/tuning). So, it makes me sad that the G14 is going downhill, since I really loved this line from ASUS. Now, it's like playing the lottery with this device. If you get a good one, it lasts you years (my 2021 G14 still runs like a champ, just needed a repaste for the CPU and GPU); but if not, you get a random QoL issue. At least Asus support was nice and understanding, they really did try to help troubleshoot any issues.

Thermal issues and a boot loop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a NICE looking laptop. But even just surfing chrome the laptop felt warmer than it should hve, or at least what i would expect. But running a game, thats something else. WASD so hot that it was uncomfortable to hold ypur hand to it. BIOS update (standard part of windows ypdates) les to a boot loop issue. Allost feels like this small of a chassis is too keeps the high end components cool

Avoid
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Costs $1,600, but runs like it cost $400. Bloated right out of the box and requires lots of tweaking to get it to even function somewhat normally. Gets super hot and has poor battery life. Transitioning between plugged in and laptop mode is slow and shifts my desktop icons everywhere. Sometimes this thing takes a long time to even turn on and show a display. Programs take a long time to open and often run buggy. Touchpad is way too sensitive and the gestures are constantly triggered, causing windows to close and scrolling to jump all over the place to the point I can barely use it as a non-plugged in laptop. I would not get this again and am very disappointed since it's supposed to be a high-end laptop.
