Gaming and Editing Beast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--- SETUP --- The ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptop is quick and easy to set up. Upon turning it on, choose your language and follow the on-screen prompts to set your computer up. --- SPECS--- Device name Asus2 Processor AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 w/ Radeon 890M 2.00 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.1 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display Graphics Card RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU --- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS --- This laptop is a powerful performer for gamers and content creators alike. After updates, I installed some of my favorite games: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered, Hogwarts Legacy, Clair Obscur, and Expedition 33. Playing these games on the go feels fantastic. The visuals that this computer offers are amazing for a portable device. I quickly paired one of my Xbox controllers and it worked as expected. I played my games with the laptop plugged into an outlet at all times, so battery was never an issue. When playing I first tried to game without headphones and just used the audio from the laptop itself. The audio is very good, within the limitations of laptop speakers. If playing in a quiet hotel room, like I was, then this is an ideal way for downtime just before bed during your vacation. If you’re going to use this laptop to game while at work, it is also a good laptop to get some matches in during lunchtime. For this occasion, I played a couple of games without being plugged into an outlet. The battery lasted me almost 2 hours before I got a notification that I needed to plug back in. As far as storage goes, 1TB isn’t enough if this is the only dedicated gaming machine you have and you are an avid gamer. However, if this is your gaming machine you use when traveling, then 1TB is more than enough to install your favorite 3-4 games for on-the-go gaming. Some quality-of-life features that I enjoy are logging in with face-recognition. After you turn on your computers, if you’ve set up face recognition log in, you don’t have to enter your password anymore. It’ll be like unlocking your iPhone, and it works well. The keyboard lighting is also fantastic for in-the-dark gaming. The mousepad is sizable and that is appreciated. The lightness of the laptop makes it ideal to carry around in a backpack. Some things to know: This laptop doesn’t have a number pad, when gaming, the fan can be noisy and the laptop can get hot. Additionally, if you’re used to gaming on a bigger screen, then the screen for this laptop, at 14”, will feel smaller, but that doesn’t take away from how awesome the visuals look. Lastly, I tried this laptop for my content creation needs. Specifically, I used CapCut Desktop pro to edit my 4K footage of my weekend business (Dance Company). The laptop was able to handle my 4K video footage running it from an external USB-C drive. The rendering preview of the footage didn’t skip, and adding transitions and effects didn’t slow down the software. --- APPROVAL --- Overall, this laptop is a powerbeast and it is great for gaming and editing on the go. I highly recommend this laptop.

Sleek Laptop, Superior Gameplay
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While not a 'high-end' gaming laptop, this ASUS RoG Zephyrus G14 is hands down twice the computer that I'm currently using as my main gaming laptop. As always, unboxing was a delight. The laptop was packaged extremely well. Setup was a seamless procedure, and all the usual Windows updates installed lightning fast. This ASUS RoG gaming laptop looks modern and sleek, with clean lines and subtle "special touches," such as the unusually shaped power button, stylized 'sci-fi' keyboard font, backlit keys, and the customizable lighted slash across the lid. In recent years, I've become a real fan of AMD processors. Gone are the days when they were considered "inferior" to Intel. The Ryzen AI 9 HX really shines. As for the graphics card, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti performs above and beyond my expectations. Plus, the 32gb RAM is double what I have now, and I can definitely tell the difference! Yet while it would have been preferable for this gaming laptop to have a 2 Tb SSD, the 1 Tb SSD is enough for my purposes, at least for now, and there's always the option to supplement that with an external HD for more storage if necessary. The 3K resolution OLED display is beautiful! Graphics are bright, clear and crisp, and game cinematics look so realistic! Even though the screen is only 14", this is actually just right for me, but it's worth keeping in mind if you prefer a larger size screen. Perhaps it is because of the awesomeness of the picture quality, but the screen appears bigger than it is, in my opinion. The sound coming from this ASUS laptop is better than expected. Unlike many of the previous laptops I've owned, I didn't have to turn the volume all the way up to achieve good audio quality, thanks to the 6 onboard speakers and Dolby Atmos. The position of the speakers is good, placed along each side of the keyboard. Airflow seems good enough to handle the heat output with the entire underside of the laptop being grated for fan cooling, with two long "rubberized" 'feet' along the bottom which not only holds the laptop up off the surface but also allows heat to flow out and away. As for ports, there never seem to be enough of those on newer laptops. I usually have to make use of a plug-in port adapter to give me more. However, many peripherals are able to connect via Bluetooth, so this may not be an issue. So all that's great, but how does it perform? The benchmark test I did for FFXIV rated 'Very High,' and while running the test the graphics were vivid and the audio was full and rich. During my World of Warcraft gameplay, in-game graphics looked great; framerates were for the most part within an acceptable range with no stuttering or pixelization, with no noticable lag or input delay. Additionally, there's no pre-installed bloatware. The MyAsus, Armory Crate, Nvidia software are what I deem helpful, as they let you keep track of any necessary system and driver updates to keep your gaming laptop running smoothly, along with monitoring computer functions, and setting game-related personalizations. My thoughts - I'm beyond impressed by this ASUS RoG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop. It's certain to serve me well for the foreseeable future for the types of games I like to play.

Powerful and Portable!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom Line: The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 packs power and performance into a sleek, lightweight design with few compromises. Pros: premium feel and finish; great keyboard and trackpad; excellent OLED screen; powerful gaming hardware Cons: fan noise; just adequate audio Review (Hardware): The G14 has a sleek, modern design that looks more like a premium laptop than a gaming machine. It also feels solid in the hand despite being fairly light (under 3.5 pounds). This makes it great for gaming and for at work, since it’s easy to carry around and blends in well in meetings. The keys are really stable (compared to others where you can feel a little of the wobble when you press them), which offers a noticeable smooth typing experience. Similarly, the large trackpad is great to use. The 3K OLED screen is one of the standout features, and, with its small bezels, offers an excellent and immersive HDR video and gaming experience. It also houses the camera system, and the IR camera does a great and fast job at facial recognition for unlocking the system. The audio experience, unfortunately, isn’t as great. On the one hand, the speakers do a good job of creating a spatial audio experience, and the sound is quite loud. On the other, the sound quality is mediocre. Mids come across well, but the highs get muffled. Bass/lows also don’t come across super well, with, perhaps, the exception of the snare drum which has decent punch. Review (Performance): Although the G14 is a capable productivity and content creation machine, I’ll focus on gaming. The machine boasts an AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor, 32GB RAM, and a 12GB Nvidia 5070 Ti graphics card, which really delivers on gaming performance. Since I got the machine, I’ve mostly been playing Robocop: Rogue City (2023). Auto detect sets the graphics to max resolution (2800x1800) and highest quality (epic) for all but two settings (which auto set to high) . With these settings, the game runs perfectly, and I haven’t noticed any performance drops even after hour+ play sessions. I’ve also spent a little bit of time replaying Gotham Knights (2023), which also auto detects to max resolution and highest quality for all but one setting (with ray tracing turned off). Overall, game performance is fantastic. That said, I have noticed two issues. The first, which is very minor, is that the system seems to freeze for second when the Nvidia software controller switches from integrated graphics to dedicated graphics and vice versa. It’s not really problematic, but the freeze is definitely noticeable. Perhaps this is something that will be addressed in a software update. The second is related to the cooling system. Perhaps because it is a 14 inch laptop, the fan/exhaust system tends to be higher pitched and noisier when compared to my other, 16” gaming machine. During gaming sessions on the G14, the fans run at max speed all of the time. I tried turning the settings down (1080p, low quality), but it doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve also noticed the sound of the fan under minimal load such as just downloading files off the internet, and so I end up setting the computer to silent mode in Armory Crate when in meetings.

High Performance Machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is an absolute beast packed into a surprisingly compact 14-inch frame. With the AMD Ryzen 9 HX processor, 32GB RAM, and NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, it handles gaming, content creation, and multitasking effortlessly. I’ve played graphically intense games at high settings, and the 3K OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate delivers stunning visuals—vibrant colors, deep blacks, and smooth motion. The laptop stays relatively cool even under heavy load, thanks to ASUS’s advanced cooling system. Storage is generous with a 1TB SSD, and the build quality feels premium, especially in the sleek Platinum White finish. Battery life is decent for a gaming laptop, and the keyboard is comfortable for both gaming and typing sessions. Overall, this laptop is perfect for gamers, creatives, or anyone who wants a high-performance machine in a portable, stylish form factor. Truly worth every penny.

Best Dual Purpose Windows Laptop (gaming + togo)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a big step up from my 2021 model with a 3060. It's sleek, powerful, and feels very well built. The speakers and display are much improved, especially with the 14'' form factor. For most users, the 120Hz screen is plenty; if you're into competitive shooters, you'll still want an external monitor. On the downside, the pre-installed Windows is full of bloatware, and I had some crashes both in games and at login. Swapping to a 4TB SSD and doing a clean install (without Armoury Crate) made a big difference. G-Helper is a great lightweight tool for managing GPU selection, display settings, and CPU boost—plus it keeps track of your driver status. I have yet to boot and install Linux, so will update once I try. Performance-wise, the 5070Ti is strong for the size, even with a slightly limited TDP (110W standard boost, 120W via G-Helper). However, 16GB VRAM would have been better for modern AAA titles; some games like Indiana Jones already show issues with the 12GB buffer. The AMD HX Chip feels similar to the 2021 gen as it is very efficient, but has considerable improvement in compute. The 32GB of Dram is soldered... but it's LPDDR5X 8000MT/s. For everything else, performance has been excellent so far—I’ll update once I’ve tested more titles, especially on an external monitor. Battery life is solid for Windows (not quite Apple Silicon levels, but good enough for a full day at school). When gaming, though, this laptop runs hot—definitely consider a cooling pad for longer sessions. I enjoy using the keyboard a lot, it feels even better than the 2021 version. Probably the best laptop keyboard even comparing to Macbook Pro. I think windows hello is okay, after a clean OS install it was not that slow. An improved fingerprint scanner would have been the better option. The webcam is okay but nothing to write home about. Overall, if ASUS can fix some software/driver issues, this might be the best dual-duty lightweight Windows laptop out there. Lightbar needs to go. I turned it off the first day and I think it would look more sleek without it.

Best Gaming Laptop I Have Owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly one of the best laptops I’ve ever owned. From the moment you power it on, you can feel the premium quality and performance this machine delivers. First off, the 3K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate is breathtaking — colors are rich, contrast is sharp, and gaming feels incredibly smooth. Whether I’m diving into fast-paced shooters or exploring open-world titles, the visuals are crisp and immersive. Performance is where this laptop truly shines. Thanks to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX processor, 32 GB of RAM, and NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, everything from AAA games to creative workflows runs fluidly with plenty of power to spare. It handles high settings like a champ without breaking a sweat. I also love how portable it is. It strikes an excellent balance between beast-level performance and everyday usability — perfect for both gaming nights and productivity on the go. The premium build quality and sleek platinum white finish make it feel as good as it performs. Overall, this laptop has exceeded my expectations in every way. If you want a high-end gaming laptop that doesn’t compromise on power, display quality, or style, this is a fantastic choice!

Workhorse of a computer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new laptop that was powerful enough to run Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, and Rhino. This machine has been 100% up to the task and I'm very happy with it so far. It's fast, the display is vibrant and crisp, the overall size and weight are great for shlepping around. I do have a few criticisms: it gets very hot, the battery doesn't last very long, and the physical body of the computer is far too delicate--I had little dings on the corners within a couple of days just from carrying it in the laptop pocket of my backpack. (I bought a padded sleeve for added protection.) But on balance, I think I got an excellent computer that looks slick and performs well for about $2,500, which is certainly a decent price.

G14, awesome 3k display and portability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent and very powerful machine. I loved the portability of it but the only complaint is the screen is a little too small, but if you’re willing to sacrifice portability over display size then go with the G16. 3k is amazing. After all updates I will recommend uninstalling all Asus app and go with G-helper. It’s a more user friendly version to run all the bells and whistles of this little power house. I also recommend a cooling pad. This thing gets really hot and on too of keyboard is where the heat concentrates but GPU and CPU runs cool. Other than that everything is running absolutely smooth and cool.

Powerful, Portable, and Actually Worth It
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the ROG Zephyrus G14 for a bit now and it’s honestly one of the most balanced laptops I’ve owned. The 3K OLED screen is stunning. Colors pop, text is razor sharp, and the 120 Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smooth, especially in games. Performance has been excellent. The Ryzen AI 9 HX and RTX 5070 Ti handle demanding titles at high settings without breaking a sweat, and 32 GB of RAM keeps multitasking effortless. It feels just as strong for productivity as it does for gaming. For a powerful laptop, it stays reasonably cool and the build quality feels premium. The Platinum White finish gives it a clean look that stands out from typical gaming designs. Battery life is decent for everyday use, though like most gaming laptops you’ll want it plugged in for full performance. Fans are noticeable under load but not distracting. Overall, this is a great option if you want serious performance in a compact, well built machine. I’m very happy with it.

Ultimately decided on this one given the easy of portability and weight. I’ve had it for about 2 months now and could not be happier. I took it on a few flights and take it to work daily. It’s able to run any game I’ve thrown at it. Amazing display. Im getting about 10-12 hours use with my daily work for charting and spreadsheets. Easily lasts all day.

Great for working, creating, and playing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My review is based on using the ASUS G14 for about two weeks. I bought it to replace my Framework 13 as a travel laptop. I also have a three year old ASUS M16, which serves as my main gaming computer at home, but is too large to travel with comfortably. I am very familiar with Macs and the main alternatives I considered were the MacBook Air 15" and MacBook Pro 14". I love the ASUS G14. The OLED screen is incredibly, easily better than the MBA 15 and close to the MBP 14. The fit and finish make this feel like a very high-quality laptop (which it is), similar to the MBP 14. While the G14 has a mild gamer aesthetic, it would easily fit in a business environment (e.g., by turning off the graphic "slash" on the lid). The keyboard is excellent and I was very pleasantly surprised by the trackpad (especially after the buggy FW 13 trackpad). Battery life was important to me: while not as good as the MBA 15 or MBP 14, it is way better than any other Windows laptop I've used. The selection of ports is good, though I wish it had an SD card reader instead of micro-SD for importing photos without a dongle. The fans have run quietly, though to be fair I haven't really pushed the machine yet. The speakers are very impressive for a device this small. The laptop charges rapidly with the bespoke charger, slowly via USB-C (as expected, but useful in a pinch). How about using it? A delight. It easily handles work (email, Word/Excel/PPT) and casual use (web, video, audio). I use Lightroom for photography: the color accuracy of the display is high, photos import quickly, editing is responsive. I've had two BSODs in two weeks - once with many, many Chrome windows open, the other with unclear cause - but otherwise the G14 has been stable and zippy. I have not done much gaming yet (a bit of Goat Simulator 3), but so far, so good. I had read users recommending G-Helper instead of Armoury Crate (which I use on the M16), so I installed the former and disabled the latter. G-Helper has been an excellent tool for managing CPU/GPU, fan curves, and battery life. Its interface is much easier to navigate than Armoury Crate's. This laptop makes me smile. It looks great, functions very well, and will be great to travel with. I love being able to work, create, and game all on one device. I would also have been very happy with the MBP 14 but, for those who want to game, the G14 is the better choice. The MBA 15 has the advantage of more screen real estate, better battery life, and being cheaper, but I think the G14 is overall a better device.

Replacing my heavy brick Lenovo P53
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tiny and compact device was easily able to replace my bulky old Lenovo P53. That behemoth, weighing 7.9 lbs, was simply unbearable in my backpack. The ROG Zephyrus G14 is excellent for playing AAA titles and also well-suited for running local LLMs, considering its size and weight. The display is one of the best I’ve ever seen, and the speakers are fantastic. However, you shouldn't expect a whisper-quiet experience while gaming. But I don’t find the fan noise disruptive at all.

Looking for the laptop that can do it all?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the Rog Zephyrus for almost a month now, and the experience has been amazing. If you want a macbook like form factor but still want to game, then look no further. I’ve been able to enjoy watching shows and movies on the amazing Oled display and game for hours without ever being left with the desire of a “better screen or needing more performance”. The oled display paired with the 5070 ti are a killer combo and must I remind you that the form factor is absolutely PERFECT. I have to also mention that battery life has also been amazing when not using the laptop for gaming. I recommend you buy this either when on sale or try finding it on open boxed condition if the price has made you want to look into other options, but all I can say is trust that this laptop will blow you away with its build quality, form factor and performance. 10/10 experience owning it.

Good laptop for portability and versatility
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very powerful portable gaming laptop. If you are looking to use it strictly for gaming I would go with the 16in version as 14 is a bit small however if you are a student and use it for school as well this is your go to. Out of the box it runs very hot and very loud. I recommend getting ghelper and setting gpu and cpu temperature limits as well as turning off cpu boost and when using it in public id set the cpu power limit down also. Gaming wise very powerful especially when you dont have power limits on. I get about 60-70 fps in arc raiders but it could go higher, only downside is that it gets very got and the fans get very loud. Cpu can get to high 90s without limits. I can usually get through a regular school day off the battery alone but I bring a charger just in case.

Its not what you think, whether good or bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are often sold as gaming laptops. they are NOT gaming laptops. They are mixed use/creator laptops Firstly, they come pre-installed with studio drivers, not game ready drivers. Secondly, they prioritize looking like a macbook, and being portable over performance or thermals. Positives: - excellent speakers, - excellent screen - Good performance for pro work (editing) - generally feels premium Negatives: - runs absurdly hot - throttles, despite very low gpu and cpu wattage offering - fans are legitimately the most annoying fans i have ever heard on a laptop Conclusions: If you NEED a relatively premium laptop that can offer a reasonably powerful gpu, while prioritizing portability over performance, this works. Just be aware of the heat and fain noise even in basic windows tasks

Works Great with CachyOS
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing I did when I got this home was put CachyOS on it so have no idea what the windows experience is on it but so far everything works great on Linux, All the lighting and everything works and can be adjusted as well. Haven't had any real issue with it but share the common sentiment that this thing is LOUD while playing anything. Only time will tell how it stands up over use but so far I have been enjoying it and been using it between work and play. I look at this as a luxury purchase as for the money you can get some more bang for the buck in other laptops but I really liked the size here for travelling and got tired of using a 18" that this is replacing. I also had that other machine for 5 years and that one is falling apart at the hinges. I hope the materials here last longer and through airports and hotels.

Great laptop when plugged in using an AC adapter!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is definitely a beast when it comes to gaming. It definitely deserves the praise it's currently getting from the various YouTube influencers. When on battery and running in ECO mode, it's also very efficient. When I bought it, it was my intention to use it as a replacement for my 2023 Asus Strix Scar 16 with a 4080. Performance-wise, it was not that much different. Where it differed was in its overall weight and size. Significantly smaller and half the weight of my Scar 16, it felt like a good match. However, my new requirement was also to have something that could run off of a USB-C charger in a low-power mode when using on an international flight while plugged into a 100W power outlet. Unfortunately, testing using HWiNFO revealed that the laptop does not support PD Bypass; the USB-C charger charges the battery at the same time the laptop is being powered by the battery. This is regardless of whether Asus Battery Care is enabled or disabled as well as whether the battery is 100% charged (a trick mentioned on some Reddit forums). The end result is significant wear on the battery in this use case, potentially shortening the battery's overall life. In the end, as it didn't suit this use case, I opted to keep the Scar 16 and ended up returning the G14.
