Customers praise the ROG Zephyrus G14's performance, stunning OLED display, and excellent battery life. Many appreciate its premium build quality, impressive speakers, and lightweight, portable design. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm under heavy use and that the RAM is not upgradeable. Concerns were also raised regarding the fan noise and the GPU's limitations in fully utilizing the high-resolution display.

Couldn't be happier with this laptop (upgraded from a Dell XPS 13 - 2017 that was basically dead the last 2-3 years). I got this as a replacement that will hopefully last me another 5+ years.
Pros:
- Quiet fans when working
- Quiet mechanical keyboard. Satisfying clicks but not as loud as a Corsair mechanical keyboard for example. + the light up keyboard is cool
- Decent battery life. My classes are 3.5 hours. This easily lasts a full class and doesnt break below 70ish%. I am sure if you push this thing, youd probably get 6+ hrs with HEAVY use.
- Asus upgrades are easy. Drivers upgrades are quick and easy.
- Does not get hot. Adjustable setting with G Helper or AsusCrate but I havent gotten this to feel hot on my lap when working with it.
- Camera has been great for conference calls/ classes
- Zero issues so far
Cons:
- Cant upgrade the RAM. I do not feel that I absolutely NEED to as this is my school computer. I can have lectures playing in the background while using Microsoft word and that is all I really need. So unsure if this is a "Con" as I do not know if I have pushed this to need more RAM.
I only gave the Battery a 4* when compared to say a Macbook because their processors are designed for longevity but I would give this a 4.5 star as is. Obviously doesn't hit the LONGEST performance but as this little powerhouse sits, its battery life is phenomenal. Going on 4/5 months now, have zero battery degradation issues.

This is an Epic Laptop. I purchased the RTX 4060 model while it was on sale. I don't play many triple A games, but the performance is great. In Helldivers 2 on medium settings at full Resolution (2880x1800) I get about 70fps minimum. Also Trackmania at full Res is very smooth. There are some games that automatically enable V-Sync, but I have yet to get better performance with it enabled. I have seen many reviews saying you have to run games at 1080p for higher frames and although that would help, the sharpness of full res is so worth the small drop in framerate. I also recommend downloading G Helper as it runs much smoother than the Stock Armoury Crate software. The speakers are great too. I would say they about equivalent to a portable Bluetooth speaker. I plan to upgrade the SSD to 2 TB someday but 1 TB is honestly plenty and the read/write speeds are no problem. The battery Life is good as long as you control the performance settings regularly based on your current tasks. the iGPU in its ECO mode, can run simpler games too! I use it to play low intensity roguelikes or puzzle games and it handles just fine. Even in balanced It has good battery life. As long as you tweak power/brightness settings, you can maximize battery life for casual use to over 8 hours. Obviously if you are going full performance for games, just plug it in. Also with some other adjustments you can get background RAM usage down to about 4.5gb which gives you more headroom for heavier tasks. Keyboard backlight is functional at best, nothing special. The Slash Lighting on the lid is pretty pointless, easily disabled through software (AC or Ghelper). With power management, The laptop doesn't get too hot either. and when it does heat up, the portions of keyboard under your hands stay cool so it doesn't feel much different. The screen wobbles only when initially opening or adjusting screen! Once in position there is no wobble at all even when on a soft surface and typing! Just be sure to take care of the OLED display and this laptop will last you years. I am pleased with the purchase, though I would recommend waiting to purchase until it goes on sale. it went down to $1,099 when I picked it up.

I’ve been using the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 for almost a year now, and I’m really happy with it overall. Even though I have the base model, performance has been solid. I use it for school, programming, and gaming sessions that last 4 to 6 hours without any issues.
With the RTX 4060, I consistently get around 70 FPS in games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and GTA V. It handles multitasking smoothly, and I haven’t run into any major problems.
One thing to keep in mind is the soldered RAM. It would’ve been great to have the option to upgrade, but the 16GB has been more than enough for my needs, even with multiple apps running at once.
Battery life has decreased a bit over time. I used to get about 6–7 hours in Silent Mode, but now it’s more like 5–6 with light use. I think the heat the laptop generates might be affecting battery health.
Another thing worth noting. If you’re someone who types a lot, you might want to use a keyboard cover. Over time, the key labels can start to fade a bit.
On the bright side, one of my favorite things about this laptop is the 3K OLED display. It looks absolutely stunning. The design is also sleek and slim, especially for a gaming laptop.
All things considered, these small issues are manageable for me, and I still feel like I made an excellent purchase.

I did over two months of extensive research before buying this laptop. The G14 for me blew its competitors out of the water when it came to build quality, battery lover, powerhouse productivity, and performance in such a compact passage. I wasn't looking for a complete desktop replacement, but something that was powerful enough to play AAA titles on the go yet could still be used for working at a coffee shop. There is nothing else in the market that comes close to the quality of the G14 at this price range. Highly recommend.

I was on the fence about getting another gaming laptop after years ago spending around the same price for an alienware m15. But after seeing it at my local best buy, seeing the OLED screen and the sound quality.. I knew I had to have it. I had a macbook pro years ago and I loved that laptop - the sound quality, screen quality and the sleek thin design. The only downside is playing games was not an option on the macbook without severely low fps. Now this laptop has exactly what my macbook pro had but can play every game I throw at it. Granted im not playing high end games like I do on my desktop such as star citizen. But playing world of warcraft, warhammer, and now throne and liberty that was just released has been a breeze. First thing I did was uninstall bloatware and get ghelper and now its perfect. Unless you turn on the rgb lights or the slash you really cant tell its a gaming laptop. Everyone ive shown it to is blown away by the OLED and sound quality.

I have been using this laptop extensively for 8 months and I can definitely say that it is one of the Best buys of my life (pun intended). Really powerful laptop with outstanding screen and ultimate durability. People complemented the sounds as well. I also have played RDR2 on this machine, runs great even with high settings.
My only complaint is - it gets very hot during gaming sessions. I used controller hence had no problems, but the upper zone of the keyboard becomes very hot to touch

Beautiful machine. Super light & compact. The OLED display is like nothing I've seen. But it gets really hot really fast when I'm not even doing much. Considering trading for a heftier version which won't be as compact but at least it won't overheat

I really wanted to love the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. On paper it’s almost perfect… lightweight, powerful, and a great screen when it works.
Unfortunately, I started having screen issues not long into ownership, including green/red pixel artifacts and display problems that changed when the screen was moved. Once I shipped it out through Best Buy for a repair the failure pointed to a ribbon cable display failure, not user damage. the only real solution is a $1100 screen replacement, which isn’t worth it for a premium laptop.
Performance and portability are great, but reliability is the deal-breaker. For the price, I expected much better build quality.
Would not recommend unless you have a strong warranty.

I've had this laptop for 4 months now. Honestly this laptop is everything I could of asked for and i wouldn't trade it for any other. For context, I am an engineering major in college and looked wanted a lightweight windows laptop(similar to a macbook), that was powerful enough to do my everyday tasks and occasionally play light games without ANY problems. However if you are looking for a laptop strictly for intensive gaming, i wouldn't recommend (the RTX 2060 has its cons and you will run into heating issues), but if you in situation similar to me you wont regret it. It has really fast processing speeds I've never encountered crazy lag. Also the resolution is stunning sometimes you just cant stop looking at it. The battery life is actually pretty good as well, FOR A LAPTOP, so it wont be an issue. And it looks sleek. However, I sometimes have internet connection issues while I'm trying to connect to a stable Wi-Fi, which is strange but it isn't to often.

I got this on a great deal! My 12y/o son wanted a Asus ROG Zephyrus because his older brother also got a Zephyrus. He love this G14 because of how compact it is. There are not a lot of gaming laptop that have this size (14in) since mostly are (16in), so when we saw this one, he already knew that he wanted this. We got him the Platinum White and it looks so neat plus the rgb lights on the cover looks really awesome. Perfect for teenagers because of the size especially when they have to bring it to school in some occasions. The performance, display, reliability and the size is just perfect.

Gaming performance without the gamer look

Coming from a long time Mac user, this is a great windows machine with an Apple like form factor without paying the Razer tax. We’re at a point where the performance has gotten relatively good for the form factor. If you’re not a hardcore gamer like my wife who loves cozy games, this is more than enough. The oled screen is phenomenal and once you go oled it’s hard to go back to any other display technology as an owner of LG G3’s and C3’s. Check the tests online and I’m sure you can see if it fits your needs but the size, value, and performance are everything we’d want in a laptop because I’m tired of ugly, chunky gaming laptops and this latest g14 is surely not that.

Very good laptop imo, honestly one of the best I've used. I have since upgraded to the G16 since I wanted more power & a bigger laptop, but with my brief time with the G14, I almost miss this thing. Temps were good, it was great at handling games, it felt really nice (both in build quality & how light it was) with how portable it was, I might even be remiss to say I like this laptop more than my G16 myself, since temps on the G16 do seem noticeably hotter than the G14 in all scenarios (likely due to all the more powerful tech in it) & once again the mention of how compact this laptop is. I'd say if you got this laptop, you'd be one happy customer indeed.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is a nice-looking, powerful, and lightweight laptop that strikes the perfect balance between work and gaming. Featuring AMD Ryzen processors and NVIDIA RTX graphics, it delivers excellent performance for productivity while being capable of playing AAA classics at moderate settings with smooth gameplay. Its sleek, premium design makes it suitable for both professional and personal use, and the solid battery life enhances its portability. While it may not run the latest AAA titles at ultra settings, it’s a fantastic all-rounder for those seeking a compact yet capable machine for work and gaming.

This laptop is sick. This is my third gaming laptop and I like it more than both alienware m16 and helios 18. It performs better than both in a smaller form factor. I have the 16gb 1tb and 4060 and it runs MW3 effortlessly with an average of 115 FPS with 64% VRAM use. If you want to go up I wouldnt even look at the 4070 because VRAM is the same and is not worth the money, making this model easily the best bang for your buck. The only con I noticed was that the GPU can get up to 85 degrees after hours of gaming but no loss in performance.

to preface, I've had it for a day now but I'll update later down but just wanted to give a review when opening it. I saw some reviews saying they had a heat issue when opening it however, mine did heat up opening but i think that was due to all the updates it was under. now it's at a constant 40 degrees celcius with no fans (i keep it on windows mode when im not playong games). i haven't played any games on it just yet but will update when i do and how it performs. the only issues i have are with windows 11 not the laptop (the task bar isn't auto hiding). overall, so far so good. the sound is amazing and the screen is amazing as well. the screen has a feature (i forgot what it's called but its to do with frames i think) that u can't use at low brightness level (50% brightness and under) which is kind of sad because my eyes are really sensitive but it shouldn't impact games since those are normally played at a higher brightness level overall, i dont think its an issue, just mentioning it. i would definitely get a laptop stand for it because it does heat up when flat on my desk.

Great "Mac-like" Laptop for College Students

I bought this laptop because I wanted something that I could take to college and use for light work, and also be able to run high performing tasks when I needed to. This laptop performed beyond my expectations. From the beautiful OLED screen, to the light and slim formfactor, this laptop checked every box for what I was looking for. My sister has a 2024 Mac Air. When holding both laptops, the difference in weight and size was very small. I also liked the sleek, more toned down look of this version, compared to the previous years of the G14. This version moves from the more high-tech gaming look, to a more professional look. I really appreciate ASUS choosing to do this as I feel more comfortable taking this to school. However, one issue that I have with this laptop is the trackpad. I hope that in the future ASUS will move away from the traditional trackpad, to a more "Mac-like" trackpad. In all, if you're looking for something VERY similar to the Mac Air in terms of shape, weight, and size, yet performs AMAZINGLY on high-performing tasks, I really recommend picking up one of these.
