Amazing screen and excellent versatility
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus G16 is honestly an amazing laptop that hits a great balance. After years of gaming and creating content on high-end laptops—special custom builds and many top-tier models—I can say this one feels like a fresh and pretty unique entry in the market. It's definitely a premium machine, so if you're worried about the cost, this probably isn’t for you—and I won't even go there. But if you're looking for something that’s really well-rounded, it’s worth considering. At first, I wasn’t totally sold on its gaming performance—mainly because I was expecting a little more from the RTX 5070. It’s a beast, no doubt, but I think some throttling to keep it portable and cool might be holding it back a bit. That said, it still handles every game I threw at it with solid frame rates—just not crazy high rates like I initially hoped. But I stepped back and realized this laptop isn’t just about raw speed; it’s designed for a premium overall experience. It’s meant to do a lot, and do it all well. The design is super sleek—thin, relatively light, and easy to carry around. The screen’s a standout, with incredible contrast and color accuracy. Watching movies, editing videos, or gaming—everything looks fantastic. I kept calling my wife and son over just to show them how good the display was. The Armoury Crate software makes it easy to tune the display settings, with presets for different activities, including a night mode that reduces eye strain. Audio-wise, this thing is really capable—loud, rich, and clear across all frequencies. My first test was a first-person shooter, and I jumped at how deep and impactful the gunfire sounded. Definitely more than I expected from built-in speakers. Of course, plugging in good headphones or external speakers will give you even better audio, but these are more than enough for most uses. Performance-wise, it’s fast — great for video rendering, gaming, and everyday tasks. The storage is quick, the GPU and CPU handle pretty much everything smoothly, and Wi-Fi is fast and stable, making good use of my gigabit connection. The keyboard feels solid, with just enough travel for responsive typing, and the big, smooth trackpad really boost productivity. The software lets you customize things easily, making it a versatile machine you can use for work, gaming, or media. That said, a couple little quirks— it sits pretty low on the desk, so I wonder about cooling, though the vents at the back do seem to help. It runs hot when under heavy load, so I’d avoid using it on your lap without some kind of cooling pad. The lighting on the lid is a bit cheesy for my taste, but thankfully it’s easy to turn off. The proprietary charging port is slightly annoying, but it’s nice that it can also accept a high-powered USB-C charger. Overall, this is a fantastic high-end laptop. It’s versatile enough for productivity, media, gaming, and content creation—all packed into a portable case. Once I got to know it better, I appreciated its capabilities even more, and I think it’s going to stay relevant for a long time. If you’ve got the budget and aren’t just trying to max out frame rates, you’ll probably love this machine.

Premium large screen laptop that can do it all!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ROG Zephyrus G16 is ASUS's answer to creating a Windows version of the 16" Macbook Pro - a large, premium laptop with top notch fit and finish, the power to do anything you could reasonably ask and the battery to go all day. And they mostly succeeded, creating a great laptop that really can do it all. It's not perfect, but it's a well rounded performer and I highly recommend it. The first thing you notice about the laptop is the size - both of the laptop overall and the screen. The laptop isn't small - no 16" screen laptop can be - but it's about as small as a laptop with such a screen can be - thin and well designed. The all metal body is sturdy and durable without feeling overly heavy (though it's not a lightweight ultrabook at well over 3lbs - and the power brick - a 240W unit - is weighty as well). I'll likely keep the light "slash" on the cover off, but it's an interesting effect if you want to use it. Once you open the laptop, the screen is GORGEOUS - the OLED produces deep blacks and tremendous color, range and brightness. It's a high refresh / 240Hz panel as well, though I mostly keep it down to 60Hz due to battery life at that refresh rate. The matal lower deck has a great keyboard that is comfortable to type on (single zone RGB on that) and spacious with a HUGE trackpad (maybe almost too big) that is responsive and supports gestures. there are plenty of ports, including Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 3.2 that both support 100W PD and display over USB-C (the 100W PD wouldb't be my go to for power as the laptop can use uo to 240W under heavy load, BUT it's not to have in a pinch). You also get HDMI, USB-A and a full-sized SD card reader. Performance from the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H is top notch and even the integrated graphics aren't bad - though of course here you can always use the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti (I've used it for games and AI / running local LLMs and it runs both well, particulary with the 12GB of video memory on the card). The 5070Ti does significantly shorten battery life though (in general browsing and office work using the "Silent" power mode, I can get 8-9 hours of battery vs in the "Performance" mode that uses the dGPU, I'd get maybe ~3 hours) so use it when you have to, not all the time. 32GB of non-user replaceable RAM and a 1TB 2280 NVMe SSD is installed here - you can upgrade the existing SSD for more space and there's a spot for a second SSD if you want. The day to day usage experiece is wonderful - the big screen makes it easy to work from anywhere/on the go, and while it's a bit weighty, have a single all in one package is a great benefit It can do office work all, day, game when you want it and anything else you can think of. So if this sounds good to you, give it a try today!

Absolute powerhouse, super portable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 16" OLED 2.5K 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 - 32GB RAM - NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti - 1TB SSD - Eclipse Gray This laptop is absolutely amazing! Phenomenal powerful. Beautifully designed. Incredible laptop engineered to last, plus surprisingly thin, light, and portable. Design and Build ASUS has again produced another gorgeous product in this ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop. This machine brings every bit of the new age cutting edge technology in an amazingly portable frame. Its refined and professional aesthetic look has a sleek and sturdy aluminum chassis. The entire laptop feels premium and durable, well-suited for professionals who need a strong and reliable device for demanding tasks, but even better suited for the mobile gaming enthusiast! It’s incredibly portable with compact size and lightweight built despite the large. Display This 16-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1600) OLED display is absolutely stunning, definitely sets this laptop apart and it’s one of the major highlights of this machine. OLED provides stunning visuals with unparalleled sharpness and detail, and virtually blur free. The display has impressive color accuracy, which is crucial for content creators, photographers, and video editors. This model is not a touchscreen though so if that’s something you’re looking for then note that this model lacks that feature. Performance Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2, 285H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti GPU, this version of the Zephyrus G16 is basically unstoppable. The 5070Ti has a whopping 16GB of GDDR7 memory which is absurd in a laptop GPU, it’s more video memory than most laptops have as system memory. Plus, it has a hefty helping of 32GB LPDDR5X, 7467 megahertz RAM. This machine delivers out of this world performance and obliterates anything I can throw at it. Incredible processing and image rendering power here. The 32GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking no matter how many programs are running, or windows are open. Also rocking the incredibly fast, quick response time, and large 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD to provide ample storage and lightning-fast access/load times. Connectivity This Zephyrus G16 offers every connection you could ask for with a variety of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and an SD card reader, accommodating all the various needs of creative professionals. Thunderbolt 4 seems to be becoming the new standard and the inclusion of this support on this Zephyrus laptop allows for high-speed data transfer and connection to multiple external devices, enhancing productivity at high-speed. Keyboard and Touchpad The keyboard definitely seems designed for functionality and comfort, featuring good key travel and feedback, making it great for long gaming, work, or any extended sessions. The touchpad is large and supports multi-touch gestures, contributing to a seamless user experience. Battery Life This laptop’s battery life is quite impressive considering the processing power of this machine. I’ve been getting around 5 hours with moderate use. Of course, heavy gaming or intensive processing tasks like video editing or 3D rendering can really reduce the battery life, necessitating plugin or simply frequent charging during heavy workloads. But honestly the battery life has impressed me and been much better than I expected overall. Software Running on Windows 11 home gets the job done quickly and efficiently. The Armoury Crate, and MyASUS software allow for simple customization and control from easy intuitive interfaces. Pros • Absolutely beautiful and stunning 4K touch display with excellent color accuracy • Incredible Powerful performance for a laptop with Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2, 285H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti dedicated video card. • Solid and durable build quality • Comprehensive connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4 • Intuitive and well-developed software for customization and control Cons • High ended price point, but you get what you pay for

I just don’t understand the terrible performance!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my dream laptop. I wanted to love it so much but i just don’t understand why it’s so bad. Every single gsme i played it on crsshed. CPU temps rose up to 105C and while Intel says it can withstand up to 110C, it just crashed and restarted in every game. Horizon zero dawn? Crashed. Monster hunter wilds? Crashed. Prey, PUBG, Castlevania? All crashed and restarted my laptop. I wss using HWMonitor to check and every game spiked the temps to 105-110 and crashed. I tried undervolting and nothing worked.I’m hoping maybe I just got a defective unit and another one will work better. Why there’s no AMD version like the 2024 G16 4070 version is beyond me. Avoid it for now is my opinion.

Posted .Dear Jays,
Thank you for your feedback.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing performance or stability issues, and overheating with this laptop. To resolve these issues, please update Windows, drivers, BIOS, games and applications if outdated. Updates for this laptop are posted at:  https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g16-2025-gu605/helpdesk_download/. You may need to reconfigure your system, video, and performance mode setting inside the newer Armoury Crate utility software version posted at:  https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/ , ensure your settings doesn't go beyond the game's threshold. Regarding your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptops, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially while gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions to have efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. Additionally, while gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decrease or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Furthermore, if you are accessing Cloud games, please ensure this laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet service will definitely affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.
If you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Best Buy bad customer service and care.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally touched the screen to grab it to prevent it from falling and the screen went black. I brought it back to Best Buy to get it fixed and not even 5 seconds the lady was like “no not fixable” so I tried to get a new laptop. Since it was open box they were trying to replace it with an open box which I don’t mind. But THEN they tried to make me pay $100 more because the “condition” was a tad better. I legit said no. Took my refund and walked out. Most unprofessional customer service I’ve ever encountered and I’ll never buy a laptop ever again at Best Buy.

Top of the line gaming laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gaming laptop that I was using before this was the 2022 model of the exact same laptop. I will say it's been one of the best gaming laptops I have ever had and this new model only improves on that one. In my personal opinion, ASUS ROG gaming laptops are the best on the market and offer a great gaming experience right out of the box. Although there is a hefty price tag, this laptop is a high-end gaming laptop that is capable at competing with gaming desktops in a machine that can be put in your backpack. Design: This laptop has an extremely premium design. The entire thing is made from high-grade aluminum chassis that allows it to have a premium feel while being lightweight and extremely thin. I was surprised by how this laptop is considering it is packed with the best components. The screen has a 2.5K resolution with 240ghz refresh rate. This screen looks amazing; text and graphics have vivid colors and the high refresh rates means that there is very little lag. It has a 16 inch screen with very thin bezzles. This allows you to have a larger screen which is perfect for mobile gaming while still having an overall thin and light laptop. The keyboard is a good size, and the keys have decent feedback. This is great for productivity if you need to type something. The trackpad is large, and it works well, although I am not a huge fan of clicking. It allows you to click anywhere on the trackpad, but the click feels awkward if it is not near the bottom corner. It is not the end of the world and most people using this will connect with an external mouse anyway. Intel does a great job with its latest processors which include both efficiency cores and power cores. This allows the processor to run on less cores when doing less graphic intensive tasks. If you are using this for web surfing, email, and other day-to-day tasks you can use the battery for many hours. When gaming or editing video/pictures I would recommend keeping it plugged in because it will eat up the battery a lot faster. The speakers are great for watching movies, listening to music and other tasks. Although I spend most of my time with a headset connected. The webcam is average. It is good enough quality for video conferencing but if you are a streamer I would recommend connecting an external webcam. This laptop has great RGB lighting. The keyboard has multiple colors that you can adjust to your liking. There is also a new light on the lid of the computer that makes this laptop feel like a gaming PC. I love being able to customer RGB lighting on a laptop. Ports: I found it interesting that ASUS is still using a proprietary port for its charger instead of USB-C. My guess is they do not want people using a charger that is not powerful enough. It has 2 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C ports, one of each on either side. I love that ASUS did this because you have both USB types on either side. It also has an HDMI, headphone jack, and SD card reader. It is nice that all of these ports are included on a laptop that is thin. The SD card reader is a full-size card reader which is an awesome upgrade over the 2022 model I am currently using. Performance: Most people who are buying a high-end gaming laptop are going to care most about the components and specs. This laptop includes the latest Intel ultra 9 CPU and it is a beast. This CPU is a 16 core CPU and can handle anything you attempt to do with it. 10 of the 6 cores are efficiency cores and can-do everyday tasks. The extra 6 cores are performance cores which will kick in when you need all the power. Performance is what most people care about when it comes to a gaming laptop. The design and other aspects can help enhance your experience, but performance is ultimately what you are paying for. This computer comes with 32 GBs of ram which should have plenty of memory for even the most intensive tasks. The SSD is 1TB which runs at extremely high transfer rates. This is a decent amount of space for holding a few large games and as many smaller games as you would like. Of course, it has the latest 5070 TI dedicated graphics card which is very fast allowing over 120 FPS in first person shooter games. Upgradability: As laptops become more advanced and smaller, manufacturers have made them less upgradable. The first thing I do when I get a new PC is pull off the bottom cover and see if there is any chance of upgrading it. This laptop is not really meant for upgrading. I couldn’t even get the entire bottom plate off because it seemed to be held on by some adhesive. Everything on the mother board is covered and crowded. I cannot say I am surprised considering everything that is packed into such a small frame. The only thing I would probably want to upgrade on this might be a larger or second SSD (I was not able to confirm if there is an extra SSD slot on the board). Other than that, this laptop ships with high end specs and there is not really anything I would want to upgrade anyway. Conclusion: I believe this is possibly the best gaming laptop currently on the market. If you are looking for a mobile PC that can play all the latest games on the highest settings, look no further. This is also great for productivity if you are a content creator or student.

The Best Laptop I Ever Had.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 has blown me away on nearly every front. To start, the OLED screen is absolutely stunning—easily the best display I’ve ever seen on a laptop. The colors are vivid, blacks are truly deep, and the 240Hz refresh rate makes everything from gaming to everyday browsing incredibly smooth. Despite the massive 16" screen, the overall design is slim and highly portable. It's shockingly easy to carry around for a laptop this powerful. The performance is equally impressive. With an Intel Core Ultra 9, 32GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, it chews through demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Helldivers 2 without breaking a sweat. Graphics quality is top-tier, and load times are almost nonexistent thanks to the 1TB SSD. This thing feels like a MacBook on steroids—but geared for serious gamers and creators. Battery life was a pleasant surprise—it lasts significantly longer than I expected for such a high-performance machine. The aluminum chassis gives the laptop a premium feel, and the build quality is rock solid. I also appreciate the abundance of ports, which is becoming rare in many premium laptops today. The backlit keyboard is another feature I love—it’s comfortable, responsive, and perfect for late-night sessions. All in all, the Zephyrus G16 delivers an elite experience. Highly recommended.

Stealthy powerhouse in a premium shell
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, let’s get specs out of the way first. The Zephyrus G16 lineup comes in multiple configurations depending on your performance needs and budget. I went all-in on the one with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, paired with the Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. It’s a beast and I’m about to walk you through why this might be one of the slickest portable gaming setups in its class. But let’s be real, I’m gonna hit you with the cons first, just so we’re not sugarcoating it. What You Should Know (a.k.a. The Nitpicks): Price: It's high. But if you're looking at this machine, you’ve probably already swallowed that pill. You're not paying for entry-level gaming, you're paying for a desktop tier experience in a laptop form factor, and this delivers. Soldered RAM: What you buy is what you're stuck with. No upgradeable here, so make sure you grab the amount of ram you want or need based on your usage for gaming or creating. Battery Life: It's not winning any endurance awards, but if you're buying this to game or create, you're likely going to be plugged in anyway. Power Adapter Cable Length: For some reason, ASUS gave this rig a short leash. The brick itself is reasonably sized, but the cord from the adapter to the laptop is shorter than ideal making it kind of annoying on some setups. Runs Warm: Again, not unexpected. This isn’t a casual web-browsing machine. When it fires up, it’s pulling serious wattage and pushing high-end visuals, so things heat up. Not overly heat intensive but maybe a little uncomfortable for longer hard core gaming sessions. That’s it. That’s the bad. Now let’s get to the good, because everything else about this laptop is nearly flawless. This thing is a visual stunner. The aluminum chassis gives it a premium, durable feel. The sleek, clean-cut design and signature slash RGB lighting strip across the lid are just enough to say “I’m serious” without screaming “gamer!” It’s a super lightweight and thin package, especially considering the horsepower inside. It boasts a full-size feel keyboard with big, comfortable keycaps and satisfying travel. The RGB backlighting is not per-key, but that’s fine by me, I prefer subtle static lighting anyway. The trackpad is ginormous! Like, ridiculously spacious and ultra responsive. Easily one of the best trackpads on any gaming laptop I’ve used. You get just the right mix of ports for connectivity, dual USB-C (one Thunderbolt 4), USB-A, HDMI, 3.5mm, and a full-size SD card slot (huge win for content creators). Bonus: USB-C charging up to 100W, a nice touch for traveling light and circumventing the short power adapter cable length. The screen is probably the star of the show next to and combined with the RTX gpu. The Zephyrus is dressed with the 16” 2.5K OLED Nebula display. OMG! It’s absolutely stunning. 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and true blacks that make colors pop like neon in a dark alley. I’ve played Ghost of Tsushima, some racing in Forza and other arcade racing, and some high graphic ARPG titles. Gaming in titles like this or just editing photos, the immersion is top-tier cinematic. I am truly amazed at the quality and beauty that this OLED display offers. I get lost for hours at time just enjoying the cinematic cutscenes and gaming. No screen tearing. No ghosting. Just buttery smooth, vibrant visuals that feel like a cheat code for your eyes. The combination of the RTX 5070 Ti and Intel Core Ultra 9 seem to be an ideal match, at least for me. I do not tend to meddle with my cpu by overclocking or under Volting. I just run with the stock performance and Intel does enough for my needs. This machine handles everything I throw at it, and I’ve thrown a lot from Hogwarts Legacy to Avatar to Path of Exile. I usually game on high to ultra settings and there were no hiccups. Framerates are solid. Temps are reasonable. It punches way above what you'd expect from a device this portable. And no, I’m not dropping benchmark numbers. I’m telling you straight, it plays like a dream, and that’s all you really need to know if you just want a capable powerful and immersive gaming experience and not trying to win any benchmark racing numbers. Then there’s the speaker system. ASUS finally hit a huge win here! These speakers slap. Crisp highs, noticeable mids, and legit bass. The soundstage fills a room in a way I’ve never experienced from a laptop. One time my daughter asked if I had the TV on. Nope, just this rig doing its thing. Honestly, it’s good enough to skip headphones, unless you’re trying not to wake the house. These speakers complete the immersive cinematic experience when gaming or streaming. If you’re looking for a premium gaming and content creation laptop with desktop-level power, a drop-dead gorgeous OLED screen, and killer audio, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is it. Yeah, there are a few limitations in it’s price, battery life, and soldered RAM, but the overall package is a knockout. This machine is sleek, powerful, and portable. A true showcase of what next-gen gaming laptops can be. Whether you're gaming, creating, or just multitasking like a boss, the G16 won’t let you down. I absolutely recommend.

Great performance in a sleek form factor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper, this machine should be a beast. And I can bury the lead and say that it pretty much is. I ran into some hiccups with setup but otherwise, it runs great and plays great. Setup was sort of the normal Windows 11 setup. I've run though this with a lot of new computers and it's pretty standard. I did run into a blank screen the first time I tried to set things up. I needed to hold the power button down to shut off the machine and turn it back on in order to start up the setup process again. Built in bloat is mainly just the usual ASUS stuff. Running Windows Update, Armory Crate (has an Update All option), MyASUS (had an extra "control panel" update) and the NVIDIA app (to update the 5070 Ti drivers) had everything up to date. It wasn't a super fast process but it never really is when doing all of the updates the first time you set up a computer. Normal usage, you should be safe to run on the battery. You'll probably get 7 hours (give or take an hour based on screen brightness and such) doing things like watching videos and browsing the web casually. I was actually impressed with it's battery usage for just day to day stuff. For such a beefy machine, it does a good enough job to conserve power when it can. If you're going to be gaming, you CAN do it on battery power but I wouldn't recommend it. You'll only get an hour or so of battery life, for starters. More importantly, though, is you'll probably boost your FPS by a good 30% just by plugging in. I switched to performance mode while on battery power but I was still seeing FPS jumps from 60 to 90 just by plugging in the power. The big benchmark game I usually test is Cyberpunk 2077. It does some cutting edge things in the graphics department and has all the extra NVIDIA bells and whistles supported. After going through a lot of benchmarks, I found a pretty great spot at Ray Tracing Ultra settings, with DLSS, Ray Reconstruction on and Frame Generation at 2x (4x felt very jumpy to me). This hit a nice 85-90 FPS and the game looked amazing running at 2560x1600. RGB is fairly nice for being pretty subdued. You just have your keyboard that you can customize. I've never had a lot of luck with Aura Creator. Just never seems to find any devices. But you still have control over the keyboard lighting through Armory Crate as well as the built in Windows Dynamic Lighting settings. There's enough control to customize things the way I like it (which is usually pretty tame and subtle). This computer isn't being marketed as an AI machine but it does have an NPU and can do some AI tasks locally. I've always found copilot to be a little behind a lot of the other models, especially when it comes to on-device processing. But you can do a lot of basic chat bot things on device here. If you want to generate images or anything more advanced, you'll need to be signed in and on the internet. Audio is pretty decent for a laptop. It's not mind blowing but it has some decent volume and even a little bit of bass. I'll still be using headphones. Keyboard and trackpad both feel pretty nice as well. The track pad is huge but I haven't noticed an insane number of palm detection while typing (I haven't seen any palm detection while writing this review). The keyboard feels about as nice as it can for a laptop keyboard. I obviously still prefer a nice mechanical keyboard but sacrifices need to be made for portable gaming sometimes. The size of the keyboard is standard and I haven't had any issues with typing. Bottom line, this is a power machine. Aside from the little hiccup I had getting things set up for the first time, everything has been pretty smooth. Gaming performance, when using DLSS, is pretty fantastic for such a sleek laptop. I'm a pretty big fan and am excited to extend my gaming to my couch when I feel like it. It's not cheap but what good computing device is these days? If you're in the market for a top of the line machine and you have the budget for this one, give it a look for sure.

Impeccable Power Meets Unmatched Precision
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ROG Zephyrus G16 with a 5070 Ti is a masterclass of impeccable power and precision in a gaming laptop. From the speaker layout, the weight of its CNC machined aluminum alloy design, and the harmony of hardware included to its stunning OLED display, this device is a pleaser. Out of the box, the craftsmanship is hard not to notice. This is my third ROG gaming laptop over the past few years. Trust me when I tell you this one is the best design, I have personally seen them execute. I will note that a couple of years ago, I liked the pattern on the M16’s exterior a bit more, but it was just an etched graphic design on the lid. The 2025 G16, however, features the Slash, which is unique and customizable. The G16 is surprisingly lightweight at just over four pounds, five-ish with the power supply, which is something I have not experienced with any of my other gaming laptops, no matter what the brand or manufacturer is. This makes this laptop the most portable notebook I have, outside of a simple web enabled laptop. The battery is suitable for general use, but it's best to plug in when gaming because NVIDIA will consume a lot of power. The keyboard is a single RGB backlit design that is customizable through the Armory. The keys are a bit softer than I really like, but I like my clicking to be heard across the house. The mouse track pad is massive and responsive enough, but it is not one of the unit's brag points. One of the most surprising aspects of the ROG Zephyrus G16 that I want to note before moving on is the sound output. As mentioned, I have had a couple of other iterations from the Zephyrus series, and none of them sounded this good. As a matter of fact, again, like the overall weight of the unit, I have never had another notebook produce the sound quality and max volume output that this G16 makes. I typically use peripheral speakers, but they're not necessary, even in noisy environments. I would generically say something like where the Zephyrus G16 truly shines is in the performance, but it is actually second to its sound. This laptop has been reunited with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and a ferocious NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU. I was able to choose the 5070 Ti over some other offerings, and I am glad I did. This unit is really optimized for the 5070 Ti because it has a cap on power usage. All the benchmarking specs I observed showed that this unit is going to outperform other units in the same class ranking under certain conditions. With the i9 Ultra and the 5070 Ti using 12Gb VRAM on 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, you are able to maximize a snappy and responsive pairing for all the premiere gaming titles on the market, use any number of editing software packages, and all other programs with unmatched precision and ease of use without bogging your system down. As a daily driver, when combined with the internal Wi-Fi 7, your web browsing load times are almost non-existent even for uncached sites. As a work device, I use the full array of Office packages. I can seamlessly move between massive data field Excel files and multi-slide PowerPoint while editing down video presentations for my Stream uploads. If you go above the 5070 Ti, you will not achieve the maximum output of that higher-end hardware, and the opposite is true if you go lower. You then, are not truly recognizing the potential of the components as a whole in this unit. Then let's talk about the display… I do not think stunning is a good enough adjective. That said, I will say that next to a high-end television at a store, this is the most beautiful screen I have ever seen. The native 2560 x 1600 2.5K screen delivers the most vibrant color shades and truest blacks, making every gaming session more intense and immersive. Make no mistake that this is a top-tier, high-quality gaming laptop at a premium price point. With these variables in mind, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025 edition) with the 5070 Ti is able to achieve maximum performance per dollar spent. It's a marvel of design and performance that's a definitive choice for creative professionals, hardcore gamers, or anyone looking for something that meets both of these needs without feeling outdated next month. I highly recommend the 2025 Zephyrus G16 (with the 5070 Ti 😊).

Almost the perfect laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the ASUS ROG Zephyrus line. I have had several of the previous generations. I honestly believe that the 2024 version of the Zephyrus G16 was the best gaming laptop of 2024. I was so hypted for this year's version. I think it gets so many things right, but it has some small deficiencies. Given that this is supposed to be a competition of the top-tier gaming laptops (and how much money you are spending), I think nitpicking is appropriate. Out of the box, the Zephyrus G16 is, in my opinion, the most beautiful laptop I have seen. There are not too many big aesthetic changes from the 2024 version which as I said was a laptop I absolutely fell in love with. All laptops these days follow the trend set by a certain fruit-named tech company for sleek thin aluminum bodies. Apparently, the G16 is slightly thicker by 2 mm compared to last year but if you liked the design last year, then you will like the design this year. The display is absolutely stunning. The 2.5K OLED display is just great. If you are used to IPS panels, you will immediately just notice just how much the colors pop. In addition, the 240 Hz refresh is just so pleasing to the eye. Everything is just smoother. I think once you get spoiled by this display, everything else feels inferior. The keyboard is nice. There is good tactile feedback, and I really enjoyed typing on it. The trackpad is absolutely gigantic and is very responsive. The speakers are hands down the best speakers that I have heard on a laptop, bar none. They get absolutely loud but still maintain a clean and crisp experience. Battery life is not bad but not class leading by any means. In terms of performance, you are working with an Arrow Lake Core Ultra 9 processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti. That is where I think the weakness lies...the Intel processor. It is a relatively underperforming processor compared to its peers. The processor can also get quite hot with the fans getting fairly loud and annoying whiny. Part of this is certainly a sacrifice that has to be made with the sleek design. That being said, gaming performance was still solid. All in all, I think the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is ALMOST a perfect laptop with some minor critiques.
