    Dont recommend purchasing open box.

    Purchased this in open box “excellent” online. When I opened it it was dirty covered in sticky residue drops, not sure what, maybe soda and some kind of animal hair? It also had scraches and marks all over it. Not a first good impression of what I received. Plugged it in to charge. When I powered it on I got the red gamers republic logo and then nothing. It stayed on a dark blue screen with the blue mousepad curser on the screen and thats it. What an absolute disappointment. Went to my local bestbuy and had an awesome geeksquad agent help me return it that same day for a full refund and than promtly helped me order this same laptop but new. Whoever is supposed to be grading these laptops obviously didnt check this one at all and it should bot have been available to sell. Really need to work on that, bestbuy.

    Good Laptop but a Horrible Experience...

    I purchased this laptop for a very specific work project and it failed me almost immediately. My purchase was on October 22nd and 1st use was early November. My project is overseas (Trinidad) and within 20 minutes of use whilst playing a regular Youtube video, the left side speaker sounds as if its completely blown out: sounds like a crunchy static mess at the slightest bit of bass being played. I would consider myself a power-user with good computer knowledge, I've cleaned and reinstalled all drivers, factory reset , updated bios and applied all updates and fixes and I still have a blown out sounding left-side speaker. Now I'm stuck overseas with a laptop that I purchased in large part because of its impressive sound capability. I'm in Trinidad and unable to return until April 2025 as my work is imperative. I looked online to see quite a few other similar issues. I'm absolutely disappointed, especially considering the High Price of this unit and my current work situation. If Best Buy would honor a replacement I would be happy to amend this review, but as i mentioned, I need to use it even in its handicapped state until April 2025.

    Defective Screen

    I purchased this laptop to use for school/gaming. It was an open box. Unfortunately the screen was damaged. The left side of it would blur it looked like static. I was thinking whoever bought it before me must have dropped it. I got a refund for it and purchased the exact same laptop only this time brand new. To my surprise the screen on this one was also not functioning correctly. In fact it was worse than the open box one. The entire screen would flash on and off repeatedly at random times. I was very disappointed.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections. The screen flashing on and off is not always a hardware issue. If you are having this random screen flashing, this can happen during the initial WIndows setup and while installing updates. This means updates are being installed and applied in the System Registry. This will go away once updates were all installed completely.     Two bad experiences before going back to lenovo

    I had recently im december got the lenovo legio 5i pro, but then yesterday deciced to return it for this asus G16 instead, but it woudnt even try scaning for wifi signals like its wifi card was broken or something, so i gave it one more try and got it returned for a replacement, this second G16 immediantly went to the bios menu which showed no drive installed which was correct as restarting it just ended with the blue screen of death displayed and error messages saying its diagnosing your pc but it never got anywhere and constantly rebooted itself so i returned it to and went back to getting the same lenovo legion laptop i had in the first place

ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. The first laptop scanning a WIFI connection is typical. Windows 11 requires an internet connection to complete the initial Windows setup successfully. To resolve the blue screen of death issue on the second laptop, simply do a power cycle and load optimize default settings in the BIOS setup page. Additionally, no external USB device is connected before rebooting the laptop.

    Great laptop plagued with sleep issues in BIOS 310

    I want to start the review off by saying I LOVE this laptop. Everything performs flawlessly when it's on. However, there is a sleep issue that was introduced with BIOS version 310 where the laptop will not wake back up from sleep despite making sure all drivers are up to date. Reverting back to BIOS version 306 resolves the issue for me. ASUS Support has been no help.     Zephyrus G16 is a beautiful mess

    This product is supposed to be one of the best laptops you can currently buy but in my experience its a beautifully wrapped glitchy, underperforming, and faulty machine. I bought my Zephyrus G16 AMD 4070 2TB model just back in November 2024 (currently February 2025) and it has not worked to the level of a used $300 laptop since the day i opened it. Being my first experience owning a windows machine i thought, perhaps settings needed to be changed, maybe reinstall Windows 11, check the bios, update drivers, etc. but problems never stopped coming on a daily basis with this machine. After a month of on and off annoying issues like glitchy screen on startup, not being able to close applications, dead pixel looking white lines that will appear on and off on my task bar, networking issues, the list goes on - i knew I should not have to be going through all of this effort just to get the laptop to work properly. I paid $2200 for this laptop and its taken me more time to look into the problems it has on a daily basis than the amount of time Ive actually been able to use it. This includes having to send it back to the manufacturer to “fix” it when it was completely unusable due to a networking issue and by networking issue i mean completely being unable to connect to any internet which was not fixable without anything less than full Windows 11 reboot amongst other measures taken by the manufacturer. This happens after less than two months of owning it! It was gone for 2 weeks, i only owned it for about 7 weeks. How I wasn't just immediately refunded/store credited is beyond me. I’d expect more of both ASUS and Best Buy. Its clear that the longevity of this machine is more than just at risk, its a certainty that it is not what it should be and sure as shoot is not what i paid for. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product.

    Overheating, runs too hot

    I got this laptop solely to game with friends when away from home, a week or so of using it later and it OVERHEATS like the cooling in the system is non-existent! Not to mention the battery life is awful, I know gaming laptops run hot but the temps (90c+) for the games I'm playing (Roblox, Minecraft, etc) are ridiculous and it isn't even overclocked. I was severely disappointed and I returned the system a day later, I cannot recommend this laptop to anyone, 1 star.

    Good to Bad

    When I first got it, this laptop was a 10/5 laptop. But, the screen is cracked and now.. my 2k+ is gone, since the 1 year warranty that came with I t is not usable for bestbuy purchased laptop as asus customer support told me. Geeksquad told me it will cost me $80 to uust send it in and get a diagnosis. I wish Bestbuy would look at this review and help me to at least send it in for free diagnosis.

    I got an open box one one with a hardware defect and had to return it since best buy could swap it out for another unit. Now the sale price for the holidays is over, and I can't afford to buy this model now. Do yourself a favor and check your event logs if you buy this unit. If you see anything about a "WHEA" error or PCIE buss issues, you're done. Overall a disappointing experience, especially after my g14 2022 died 3 months out of warranty.

The "WHEA" error or PCIE buss issues can either be a software or hardware related. To resolve a software issue, check if Windows, the chipset driver and BIOS are up to date.     Terrible Connectivity

    WiFi 7 keeps freezing, connectivity drops, RAM usage in idle is 10GB, and streaming video freezes. I called Asus multiple times to fix the problem, but the care agents did not know anything.

    Great laptop ruined by a qlc ssd.

    Constantly lags due to then horrid micron 2400 qlc drive. Very bad small file performance/iops sub sata performance. Updates take forever because of the 4k iops only being about 6k... or 26MB/s utter trash. And at $2200 this is unforgivable.
