Nonexistent Linux support, decent hardware

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It was abysmal setting up all of the drivers on Linux, absolutely excruciating. It's clear that Asus does not have any interest in being rated well by linux users. I've been using linux for 15 years, and have always had a working computer same day. This laptop took 4 days of painful effort to get it working "good enough" which would be unacceptable if it didn't have such a gorgeous display. The audio took a couple of more days to get working, which once I did get the audio working, it has a very refined sound and definitely beats any laptop speakers I've used previously. Literally if it had a less desirable display, this computer would have been immediately exchanged for something that was made by a company holding a higher opinion of their customers.

But the reasoj i am giving it a two star is becuase this is frickin best buy. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP FROM BEST BUY, go buy it from amazon or the offical asus store. Becuase just by any chance something happens to this laptop after your first 15 days with it, you are screwed. Becuase best buydoesnt cars about their customers

Tragic Masterpiece - Shutting Off on Battery

With its brilliant display and sleek, thoughtfully designed form factor, it promises an exceptional laptop experience but falls short in a critical way. Despite applying BIOS and driver updates and performing extensive troubleshooting, the brand new laptop continues to shut off unexpectedly when running on battery—even during simple tasks like web browsing. It's deeply disappointing to see so much potential undone by such a significant flaw.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the unit will auto-shutdown in battery mode. To resolve the issue, please check if your game, video and performance mode settings are not configured over threshold, base on the game being played, inside the Armoury Crate utility software. Please ensure you are running the most current utility program posted at:  https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/ . Additionally, while gaming and running in battery mode, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature and may cause automatic shutdown. Disappointing

It looks amazing and it performs amazing… well, *performed*. After a week of use, there are already freezing and graphics display issues. Multiple BSODs and hours of troubleshooting. Needless to say, although my initial impression was amazement, it’s turned into a frustrating disappointment.
