The nearest, near miss I have ever seen for the perfect laptop that balances value and performance. I picked this up knowing it wasn't the top of the line of the latest G16 offering, but figured it would suffice and it was priced right for what you get. The screen is absolutely gorgeous and the speakers are impressive. Running RDR2 I got an average fps benchmark of 63fps. I can definitely see where the 16GB of RAM would possibly be a problem though it never quite was for me, in my use of it I saw it hit almost 100% usage just by having NFS Underground and chrome open with 3 tabs open at the same time. What really killed it for me was the cooling setup. I experimented with Armory Crate and eventually with G-Helper to try to adjust fan settings, but no matter what I tried, there's no getting past the shrill-high pitch of the cooling fans - particularly the small one in the middle. I wouldn't say it's particularly loud, it's just a very unpleasant high pitch. At lower RPMs there's a bit of a grinding/frictional sound that I'm not sure is meant to be or if it is a defect. It was also annoying that out of the blue all fans would randomly kick up to higher RPM when just chilling on the desktop with absolutely nothing running or just browsing one tab on Chrome. There is really no such thing as "silent" mode on this machine. I guess if you used headphones all the time this gripe is negligible. The slash light and keyboard effects, particularly on Sleep, seem to be geared toward causing epileptic seizures as they just arbitrarily quickly flash on and off with no pattern. It's a shame to have to return this, but those fans killed this one for me and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a pleasant machine to be around.

Good performance, and good build quality. Speaker is amazing and i like the oled screen more then the normal IPS screen, much more brighter. Only have 2 minor issues. 1. Only come with 16 ram which doesn't support future upgrades, a little bit disappointed. 2. Fan noise is bit annoying even with silent mode. However after uninstall AC and install the ghelper, it gets significantly better in terms of fan and temperature control.

Super good computer, runs smoothly, has pretty good battery life for a gaming laptop (7-11 hours depending on the use cases). No complaints anywhere, the screen is super good, and high quality, the only downside to this computer is the fans can be a little bit loud when gaming, but wearing noise cancelling headphones, the sound is minimal, would 100% recommend, just keep in mind ram is not upgradable.

Got this open box and in excellent condition. Overall I was very happy with this laptop. I feel like for the price, it needs a haptic trackpad, but I am able to look past that. My big problem with this laptop and why I ended up returning it was the heat. You can't even open a tab in chrome without the laptop getting uncomfortablly warm. I even uninstalled all the ASUS software and downloaded G Helper and set my own thermal limits and it didn't help enough. If you don't mind heat, this is one of my all time favorite laptops. The design is great, the display is great, and it is very lightweight. It nails the fundamentals, but just can't control the heat it puts out. I have heard the 4080 and 4090 models have a much better heat management system. This is a great buy on sale!

I would recommend this laptop to anyone who is going to college for an engineering degree. It's not too heavy, the build quality is amazing, the size is perfect, the screen quality and audio are amazing, and the battery life is mind-blowing (reaching up to 10 hours under optimal settings) considering that this is a gaming laptop. This laptop is more than enough for many people who just want a powerful laptop that doesn't seem too much like a gaming laptop. I give it 4/5 because I think it still needs time. Just like when you get a haircut and you find the need to let it "marinate" for a couple of days to feel better about it, I feel the same way with this laptop. I have many software and optimization issues and I want to believe that it is due to it being now and not well optimized with Windows 11. It sometimes freezes for a couple of seconds when you open a game, and sometimes it freezes permanently and I've had to force re-start it. I have been able to solve the freezing issue by going to the Nvidia Control Panel and switching the display mode from automatic to Nvidia GPU only. The only problem is that I don't always like to have it set that way because it consumes a lot more battery.

I recently picked up the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, and I am thoroughly satisfied with my decision! This laptop is a powerhouse, featuring a stunning 16" OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate that makes every game look absolutely incredible. The colors are vibrant, and the visuals are sharp, which really enhances the gaming experience. The performance is outstanding, powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. I can play the latest titles at high settings without any hiccups. The 16GB LPDDR5X RAM ensures smooth multitasking, whether I'm gaming, streaming, or working on creative projects. I also appreciate the sleek design and build quality. The Eclipse Gray finish gives it a modern, sophisticated look, while still being lightweight and portable for on-the-go gaming. The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, making long gaming sessions a breeze. Overall, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is an exceptional gaming laptop that delivers on all fronts. If you're looking for top-tier performance and stunning visuals, I highly recommend it!

I bought this laptop as my goto travel pc. It has exceeded my expectations, with a balance of decent battery life and performance. The Oled screen is the star of the show, and no laptop should be without one. The all metal build gives it a premium feel, while still allowing it to be strong, thin, and light. I did encounter one slight problem, the laptop was stuck on windows 11 22H2 and wouldn't auto update. I had to manually install the most recent version of Windows 11, 24H2, and then everything was ok, just be sure to turn off bitlocker (which is automatically enabled), before you upgrade, or it will fail.

Literally the best laptop I have ever touched. I'm not being dramatic but this laptop is the most satisfying purchase I have ever made. I wanted to purchase a high performance laptop that offered high gaming capabilities and computer processing for work and projects, and this laptop was the perfect solution. Its very thin and sleek, and has a nice LED slash on the back that makes the laptop look cooler but without the nerdy "gaming" designs most laptops offer. The LED on the back has customized sotware where you can select the pattern and if truly needed, it can disable it. I can bring this laptop to university and use it without looking weird or geeky because of its design. Performance wise this laptop runs everything very smoothly and runs efficiently, if you want to improve its performance, simply just upgrade its SSD or RAM (its 16gb, which is fine for gaming but not for multitasking gaming and VM's and etc) . There's also nice built in software that are genuinely useful, like the GliderX app that allows you to connect to ur phone and use it for extended display or as a replacement webcam for higher quality video calls and etc. There is also overclocking and CPU,GPU management software's that allow you to customize their power usage, or frequency and etc. Battery life is around 3-5 hours but USB C charging makes it easy to charge everywhere and anywhere (Make sure to have a efficient power delivery source though, 180w+) Amazing laptop 10/10, This was worth every penny

So far this has been a great replacement to my m1 MacBook Pro. I wanted something that felt more premium, wasn’t a chonk, and was a little quieter. While this is still loud, it is better than some. It’s very fast, and besides a very specific game I play that would have benefitted more from a different CPU and additional ram, at this price, it’s a great laptop. It’s pretty light, it’s solid enough that it doesn’t feel like it’ll break any time you lift it, and the screen is about as close to my MacBook as possible for the price I paid.

Exceeds expectations. I can play any game I have tried, and no studders. Only issue is the cooling system is loud and the keyboard near the top in the center gets very hot when playing a game. But for this performance, I think it is acceptable as long as the heat doesn't degrade the components over time. Battery life (using I tegrated graphics) is great. The laptop is thin and premium feeling. It's everything I wanted.

Pretty light, great display, good performance. Does run a lil hot after a while but haven’t had any problems with it overheating so far, little overkill for general browsing and sometimes the performance can be slightly wonky at times in some higher demand games like Elden ring but nothing too bad, just some frame stutters. Pretty light thing on the back of the display as well. Little pricey for my tastes but the first laptop I’ve used that performs as expected

It is the best-designed Windows gaming laptop I've come across. The screen quality and speakers can also challenge the likes of MacBook Pro. Amazing battery life for a 16-inch laptop. Although it does get heated, it is nothing out of the ordinary and quite easily manageable.

So far it works great, im in love with the picture quality, and games run smoothly. I probably get about 2 hours of game time before I need to plug it in for charging. The design is silky and smooth, and the labtop is relatively light. The fans are a bit noisy when running, but its quickly overlooked with the loudness of the speakers. I love the mousepad, works perfectly and smoothly with satisfying clicks. On the downfall, it takes a minute to wake up the device, and goes to sleep relatively quickly, which can be a bit annoying, unless there is an option to turn it off or extend the default timer. I am yet to figure this out. The screen seems a bit flimsy, but it gets the job done and it looks stunning.

Great, portable gaming laptop. Solid fps in spiderman remastered on steam and god of war. More with frame generation on (4070, 16 gig ram, 1tb ssd). Looses one star for non upgradable ram. I sit at 15/16 gig used in windows 11 with big game loaded or ableton live and a small number of tracks loaded. However my workstation can handle bigger jobs and this is fine for a fast throw in a bag and go. The battery life was sitting at 4 hours from my locked 85% in battery savor mode with video streaming in browser and no gaming. But gaming on battery is laggy and i limit it to amung us or lethal company. The oled desplay is where this laptop outshines so many other tn pannels. Beutifull and fast.

Best laptop I've had - read for overheating advice

Best gaming laptop I've had. It runs all games well over the performance I'd expect. It runs them so well that many people have issues with overheating, me included. The best fixes I've found are to use a laptop cooler (I use Llano V12) and then, the best fix is the software G Helper. You can download the software from Github. Just google it! I run it on Optimized preset, and I disable CPU boost (or just do efficient aggressive) G Helper is a replacement for ASUS Armoury Crate. I like ASUS hardware and laptops, but Armoury Crate doesn't provide all the useful features that G Helper does. That's the one critique of ASUS that I have. I recommend you watch a YouTube tutorial about G Helper to get the most out of it. My CPU used to run up to 97°c when playing Baldur's Gate. Now, it rarely goes over 80°c. And yes, 97°c is safe enough as laptop hardware is built for that but... in the long-term, 97°c is rough no matter how you look at it. Those temps are bordering unsafe levels. Especially for long gaming sessions. Even with these settings, yes the part of the chassis above the keyboard still runs hot, but at least the CPU and GPU rarely get above 80°c. The GPU tends to float around 70°c. Keep in mind these temperatures are also helped by a cooling pad. There isn't anything more I can add to the review than what others have already mentioned numerous times. This is the best laptop I've had, and it's an unbeatable price especially on a sale. Do yourself a favor and get one, but make sure you treat it well and keep its hardware longevity in mind with its insane performance (and inevitable heat)

I thought this was going to be the basic run of the mill gaming laptop with minimal performance, a lot of rgb that kills performance, and cheap materials but I was way off. The metal design on this laptop makes it very comfortable to play or do school work on, the edges on the laptop are smooth and rounded, instead of being pointy like some other laptops, they keyboard is amazing with good key travel and the speakers are the best I’ve ever heard on a laptop. The display is immaculate with its 2.5k Display with 240Hz, and the last thing that blew my mind was the battery life on this thing. I have gotten a max battery of over 10 hours on this thing. If you are thinking of getting this laptop, get it when it is on sale.

Does the job I wanted which was something I can use if my PC is unavailable. Positives: -Very fast and beautiful laptop -OLED screen is gorgeous. I don’t know if it’s because it has a higher PPI because it’s only 16 inches or what but the screen in my opinion is even more gorgeous than my 32 inch 4K/240 hz Alienware OLED and my 27 inch ASUS 1440p/480 hz OLED. Not sure why this is but I would love to know why so I can get a monitor like this. -Is able to run what I want to play at 60 Hz minimum. Negatives: -Runs very hot. Usually just run it at 60 hz even though the screen can go higher so it runs more stable. -WiFi can be weird sometimes. Other devices on my network do fine but this can take forever to do certain tasks like download games for example -Screen would turn off on its own sometimes and the only way I found to fix this is by putting in the settings to always run off the NVIDIA 4070 GPU instead of the other one.

I have used an Alienware M15 R4 for the last 3 years and although it served me well, I was looking for an upgrade. After weeks of reading reviews for something lighter, with better battery life and an amazing Oled screen, I pulled the trigger. This laptop was nearly half the weight of my Alienware and despite being put off by critiques of the fan noise, I found it to be significantly quieter. In silent mode while browsing the net it almost never turns on and when I do have it on the highest settings its still quieter than my previous laptop by a long shot. Another factor that drew me to this laptop was the brightness. Before buying this I had purchased a Razer but had to return it due to the 300 nits , this Asus on the other hand reaches 500 on an OLED display! The battery life on this thing was a huge improvement, I get about 6-7 hours on youtube and browsing at medium brightness. Couple this with the light weight and you have a powerful laptop that's portable and looks great!

Got this as an open box item. It has almost every bell and whistle I could want and has even moved me away from being tied down to my desktop gaming computer. Plenty of ram, a strong graphics card, fast processors. Only two items lacking out of the box, IMO. 1: As a gaming computer it should have way more than just a single TB SSD. I added another 2 TB one to supplement, would go with a 4 or 5, but that will be a future upgrade. 2: It gets hot. I had to oreder a cooling lap desk for it as it is too hot to sit on my lap, and caused a little damage on my normal lap desk. once I got that in? No issues at all. Well worth the 1k I paid!!
