    First-of-its-kind combo ultra book/gaming laptop

This laptop's a real innovation. It stays perfectly cool to the touch with its Intel Ultra processor (as opposed to the HX variants) while at the same time having excellent battery life for non-gaming tasks. Oh... and it's got an OLED panel with G-Sync... And it's lightweight. Yeah, it rocks. The only issue I have is that Nvidia Advanced Optimus is a little buggy and thinks the laptop is connected to an external monitor when it isn't. That seems to have gone away after restarting, however. Overall, this laptop works great for both gaming and creative work... plus office work and media consumption. Ennjoy!

Great gaming and video editing laptop

Incredible laptop! I do gaming and 4k video editing on it and it does that without any issues in davinci resolve. Also not really sure why some people comment on the fan noise. This is on par with virtually every other gaming laptop out there with fan noise, and in my opinion maybe a little quieter. I also don't use turbo mode simply because you don't need to, performance mode is plenty for gaming and work, and silent mode is great for any kind of productivity and web browsing. Gets hot on the deck near the screen, but not at all near the trackpad and most of the keyboard. Underneath can get hot as well, but that's to be expect with an all aluminum chasis. Great laptop all around.

Beautiful laptop inside and out. Awesome performance, beautiful screen and overall. Only complaint i have is when playing games it gets extremely hot, like too hot to touch so i had to buy a cooling pad and it seems to help.

When I first saw the description of this computer I was a little skeptical of what exactly the Intel Core Ultra 9 was and what it could do. Well I'm here to tell you that this computer is an absolute beast. Everything about this computer kicks it up to 11. The rumors about the RTX 40 series of graphics chips are true. these things offer supremely detailed graphics and optimize even some of the more basic games. I played Team Fortress 2 (a game that's almost 20 years old) and it looked incredible. in the same sitting I loaded up one of the newest and hottest games right now: Helldivers 2, and the detail and beauty was simply astonishing. But the graphics chip shouldn't get all the credit for that, The crystal clear OLED 16" screen offers an awesomely sized view so you can hit tough shots or just take in beautiful scenery. Couple this with the speaker system that this computer has and you get amazing immersion on the go! The software that the computer comes with for customizing the way the computer operates is pretty intuitive and makes it easy to throttle things back when you don't need all that power or to push it into turbo for those high-end, sweat inducing gaming sessions. But with everything good that I can say about this laptop there are also a few drawbacks. First, because it does have one heck of an engine going on within, it tends to get rather loud and awfully hot, especially when doing anything graphically intensive. It's not that the computer cannot handle these tasks but you pay for it in sound and heat. It will however mitigate the heat rather quickly once the tasks are over. but I wouldn't recommend having this thing sitting on a flat surface for too long if you're going to be doing any heavy gaming. The second thing is that while the keyboard is cool with all the flashy lights, it's not something I would use for actually doing the gaming. The main heat point is just under the top center f the keyboard and it makes it kind of uncomfortable if you plan on using any of the keys in the center of the keyboard during times when the processor is really cooking (pun intended) The trackpad while ample (which is nice for more mundane tasks) gets in the way a lot when doing any kind of keyboard use for gaming purposes. (my thumb hit it more often than I would like) And lastly, The computer came with only 1TB of hard drive space. most wouldn't see this as much of a problem and for me its not a deal breaker, BUT with games nowadays topping 80-100GB a game, that doesn't leave much room for a lot of games onboard. Like I said, not a deal breaker, just something to keep in mind These are the only reasons that I didn't give this 5 stars. Otherwise if you are looking for a mobile powerhouse of a gaming laptop you can't get much better than this one.

Ive been using it for school work the past week and the display is just stunning, I havent got to play on it much just a launched a game here and there but I can already tell performance is top notch. Is it expensive? Absolutely. This I the first laptop I’ve had in about 11 years and as soon as this was announced I just had to have it. Fans do get loud but I could understand because of the form factor. But for some reason I feel like I can hear a little whine noise. Thats not enough for me to dock it down an star though.

Best Windows Gaming Laptop I've used. d

This is an amazing laptop. I'm happy that I waited for it to go on sale, so that I could get the 4080 version with 32GB of RAM. That is absolutely the way to go. Screen is the best that I've used on a laptop and I like it better than my MiniLED MacBook Pro. Gaming performance is excellent. Thermals are also really good! I'm shocked how well the macine stays cool. Don't get me wrong, it gets warm and the fans are running, but given the Ultra 9 processor and the 4080 in such a thin chassis, this is really remarkable. Fans are not loud given this is a gaming laptop. I use headphones while gaming and don't hear the fans. There is no high pitched or annoying noises in the fan, just moving air. Build quality is top notch. It is on par with my MacBook Pro. Feels excellent. One complaint, if you want a second power adapter, they're hard to come by. I went with a premium third party one because the Asus ones are very difficult to come by. I hope this will change as time goes on because the the connector is fairly new. Not enough of an issue to ding a point, just a note for other people looking at this laptop.

Before buying this laptop, I daily used my Razer Blade 15. I wanted a new laptop with the same quality, but a lot more powerful than what I had and for a lot less. The zephyrus doesn’t disappoint; both in terms of gaming and productivity. I was able to hit 100fps on rather high settings for the new Indiana Jones game. And more importantly, it was able to flawlessly run my architecture software and was amazing with processing renders and post processing in photoshop. The screen is definitely the best aspect of the laptop; it’s bright color accurate, and high resolution. Can’t think of a single complaint

Efficient when doing normal day to day stuff, enough power to play well, nice build quality. Would've preferred a slightly thicker build with higher TDP for the graphics card. Ideal laptop in my opinion would be M16 with a CNC milled body and Mini-led with 2k+ zones (OLED is gorgeous but just worry about burn in risk).

Laptop is pretty great, i used many tips from YouTube to set up for max performance. The #1 best upgrade was going from Armory Crate to GHelper (make sure you research settings) - silent mode now gets 6 hrs vs 1.5hrs with armory crate, which is wild. Minus 1 star for bit having pixel shift technology to preserve the OLED screen. Asus has tech, they should have included it this premium & beautiful laptop!

Great form factor, excellent screen and decent sound system. HDMI port is a bit glitchy and overall system stability is a little odd with armory crate, but the sheer performance when things are working right is pretty incredible as long as you don't mind extraordinarily loud fans

This laptop is almost perfect in so many ways. The speakers are the best I have ever heard (on a windows laptop), the performance is great, battery life is alright, and its super portable. The only issue I've had so far was with a faulty USB-C port. I just need to get it exchanged.

I bought this to play. Not with games, but with local AI. In particular, local image generation using uncensored models. And at that it did a pretty good job. It's unfortunate that the VRAM is only 12G, but it seems to be enough to do some impressive generation. I'm currently using SwarmUI, and it's actually pretty easy to setup. Honestly, I didn't need all this power, but I have s feeling this laptop and I will be friends for a long time.

The computer would get hot enough to fry a egg on… performance was good but not as good at other 4080s due to the power restraints. The speakers were unbelievably good and thw screen is absolutely gorgeous! Ended up selling and getting a z 13 intel and nvidia are just not for me…

ASUS ROG Zephyrus (2024, RTX 4080) Review

I recently owned the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, and overall, it was a fantastic machine. The screen is absolutely incredible—its OLED QHD display with a 240Hz refresh rate truly brings games and media to life with stunning clarity and smooth visuals. The keyboard has a satisfying, tactile feel, and the overall design of the laptop is sleek and modern. That said, the laptop isn’t without its flaws. While gaming, I experienced noticeable thermal throttling, which sometimes hampered performance during extended sessions. Battery life was another letdown; as a student who needs to work unplugged for hours, the short battery life just couldn’t keep up with my daily demands. Ultimately, I decided to return it because I needed a machine that could reliably support my mobile lifestyle. However, if you plan to keep it plugged in at your desk, this laptop can be an absolute beast. With a cooling pad to help manage the heat, it would likely be nearly perfect. In summary, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is a high-performance gaming laptop with an amazing display and design, but its thermal and battery limitations might be a deal-breaker for those needing portability.

What a powerhouse of a gaming laptop

I believe I have found the laptop that suits all my gaming and photo editing needs. I love gaming and have been looking for a laptop that has top specs for running the newest games in high quality. On the other end, with all the photo editing I do I also need to be able to run the latest editing software. This ROG Zephyrus is a perfect blend of gaming and business. The specs that caught my attention the most are as follows: -16" OLED with 240hz refresh rate and 2k resolution (2560 x 1600). This really makes for great high definition gaming on high quality settings and for clean dark blacks. -Intel Core Ultra 9 and 32GB Memory for heavy editing or multimedia use and running multiple applications -Nvidia RTX4080 will allow for high quality video settings in game, which for a laptop of this size is impressive. Some thoughtful mentions that make the experience worth it are: -Very nice keyboard layout and large trackpad make for a great typing experience. -Asus Armoury Crate software is a very useful program to monitor and manage everything from RGB lighting (Aura Sync) and slash lighting, edit profiles, and GPU settings. -Speaker system is on par for decent listening. There isn't anything really to take a star off of this. Me being nit picky, I feel like the hinge on the display when opened does not feel solid. It allows for some play when typing on a uneven surface and when you look at the webcam you can see the video bounce around some.

Great computer from a performance standpoint. Gets hot but managable. Biggest concern is durability. My computer has creaking noise with a small amount of flex on the bottom panel where the screen and bottom meet. Not sure if it's normal on this model, but for a computer that's over 2K, this should not happen. I will likely return it for this reason. If that's not a big deal for you, then go for it!
