I bought this laptop because I wanted to give PC gaming a try. I was not going to waste my money on a new gen console when this laptop has better performance and many more uses besides gaming. The fan on it can be a little loud so I bought a cooling pad to help with the fan. Overall I am pretty happy with it and my friends who have been PC gamers for a while told me this laptop is better than their current setup.

I am a huge gamer myself. At home, I have a power rig built since 2016 (1080ti GPU with 240hz monitor) I was first started looking for a gaming laptop that allows me to game on the go, I had the idea in mind that no matter how well designed and built, will come at a compromise with thermal throttling issues and limited screen size. But after getting my hands on this piece for a couple of days, I am so glad about this purchase. The screen is silky smooth with the 240hz screen. A lot of other manufacturers have added 240hz or 300hz screens already, but many is willing to invest in the lower response delay realm. The 3ms really brings your game play to a new level. (PS a lot of people are concerned 240hz screen not having the greatest value if laptop is unbale to reach 240fps in games. My personal experience is that there hasn't been any screen tearing caused by having sub 240 fps in games, where a lot of people on reddit and other forums claim that screen tearing when FPS < Refresh rate. GPU wise, 2070 Max Q, given it max q nature, is not going to be a s powerful as the non-Max Q version. But for most modern games, tone it down to normal graphics setting and the game will deliver decent graphics and fps. So the GPU does the job well for a laptop imo. Thermal wise, ROG M15 did quite well in my opinion. Usually GPU clocks at 85 Celsius which is within normal realm for gaming laptops. So far, no thermal throttling issue has been noticed. If I am nitpicking, the number row area gets quite hot during gaming, so external keyboard is recommended for long duration gaming.

I bought the 144hz with the 1660 TI initially, then I realized how much I loved the gaming laptop that I exchanged it the next day to get the 240hz with the RTX 2070. This was the best decision I made. The display is crystal clear and playing games has been smooth and of great quality. It's a beautiful laptop and is sleek and light. The CPU, GPU, storage, and ram capacity is perfect. I am very happy with my purchase.

I've had only good experiences with it so far. Fast, powerful, and responsive. It seems to handle any emulation or RTX game I want at high settings and framerates. I originally was going to upgrade it for the 3060, but there really isn't a point. Excellent gaming device even considering Intel processor and integrated graphics. Pricey, but worth every penny if you're a gamer.

-10750 gets really hot really fast. Even with max -80 undervolt them temp gets hot. -2070 maxq is 90w with 105 dynamic boost. Actually runs pretty well. The liquid metal thermals are quite good used for this. 16gb ram stated as 3200, but limited to 2933 due to 10750h limitations -intel 660p 1 tb ssd in mine. Avg performance for this nvme -lack of webcam in 2020 is dissapointing -not sure if mines defective but it has problems going to sleep. CPU and gpu continues to get hot and the fans are not running.

The battery life is ATTROCIOUS. I can maybe get an hour, whether I am gaming or not. Plugged in, it works alright. The thermals are not good; when it's running at full tilt, it will overheat and shut off after a while. I need to use ThrottleStop software to take the power down a bit, plus a cooling pad with a rubber gasket, plus two vacuum exhaust fans. That takes it down 10 to 20 degrees C, so it runs better. Next gaming laptop, I might get a Zephyrus G series with an AMD chip. I wouldn't get this one again.

I would give it 5 stars based on performance, but I took 1 star out because the battery life sucks, only 1 to 2 hours. I use it more as a workstation than for travel, so it works for me.

I bought this for grad school instead of buying a $3000 MacBook with similar specs. The chassis feels solid, and the keyboard is great. The touchpad can be a little finicky, but that may just be me getting used to it. I don't mind not having full control over the backlit keyboard; I'm pretty over the whole every keyboard has to be rainbow puke lighting. I keep it locked as a solid color, but there are options for color cycles and a few other options like breathing that are not really my style. The battery life seems fine when just browsing the web or general use, but it definitely needs to be plugged in to do any sort of gaming or lots of multitasking as the battery will drain quickly (not unusual for a gaming laptop). I used an Asus for undergrad and it lasted for about 8 years before the mobo died, so hoping I will get the same/similar results from this generation of ROG.

So far, so good. I applied for a progressive leqsing program and got approved for $2500. Didnt go spending all of it but I am happy with my choice. Also bought a cooling pad with it. But I might return it because it is making a wierd sound right out of the box. But thats just the cooling pad. The computers fans run a little loud. But so does my custim built desktop. Nothing that my sony headphones cant fix. I also bought a wireless mouse and keyboard. Because people were saying that the keys heat up. But I have not noticed this. And I was playing cyperbunk on max ray tracing settings for about 3 hours and my keys on the keyboard were not hot. Maybe its because my cooling pad raises fhe laptop from a leveled position. To a nice angle which is more than likely allowing alot of air to travel through. The sales associate that helped me out was also super chill and very patient.

I bought this laptop for my husband who had been wanting a new gaming laptop for years. Did some research and found this one at a decent price. These laptops aren't cheap so it took me a while to decide on one that was perfect for him. So far works fine. A few things to consider. The fan is loud and I have read other reviews on this one and other gaming laptops having loud fans when a game is running. So if you are playing a game with headphones maybe it might now bother you. But I know it bothered him at first but decided he still wanted it. I wasn't as happy since I didn't think it would be so loud especially for something with this high price tag. Also we did have some problems where it didn't want to charge. He would plug it in and nothing would happen. After that it worked and we haven't had a problem at all. So for now I just give it 4 stars.

Very nice built. Runs quieter and cooler than I thought it would be. I added a second SSD for linux, still installing drivers and making things work on both OS. Under windows works everything just fine. 55+ FPS Read Dead Online, with all settings in ultra. Super slim and light. Beautiful. I'm switching from Mac, and I don't miss a thing.

Good specs, poor QC holds it back

If this laptop could achieve the performance that it's specifications and components promise, it would be a solid 5 star product at the sale price. Unfortunately, quality control on my issues hold it back. The biggest issue is thermal performance. On any power setting other than silent, any substantial CPU load causes several of the core temperatures to exceed 100C, and subsequently thermal throttle. Most likely, this is due to poor application of the liquid metal thermal paste, but could also be a defective heat pipe or heat sink. There's a warranty sticker on one of the heat sink screws, so I did not investigate further. Additionally, the battery on my unit has undergone very rapid capacity degradation. It lost 7% capacity within the first 2 months of ownership, and as of 8 months, has lost over 10% of its rated capacity. This is with using the Battery Health charging scheme, which limits total charge to 80%, and primarily using the laptop plugged in. The battery has not been unduly abused. When I first had the laptop, the fans would occassionally make a very loud, abnormal noise when running at high speeds. When I opened the laptop to install a second SSD, I found this to be caused by the fan power leads occasionally being sucked into contact with the rotating fans. This was possible becasue the wires are only held in position by being stuck to the back of the sticker placed on the fan. I pressed them more firmly into place on the sticker, and haven't had the issue since. Additional minor aggravations: The plastic lid/display back feels quite flimsy compared to the rest of the otherwise solid laptop. I'd happily pay a few dollars more for a more solid aluminum lid. The touchpad is overly sensitive even with sensitivity turned all the way down. I had to disable the tap to click function due to annoyance, and now rely on the mechanical press of the touchpad, which may put undue wear on the switches under the touch pad. I've now ordered a Razer Blade 14 to replace this unit, and this one will be going in for warranty work as soon as it's replacement arrives.

Just an an excellent machine. Fast, sleek, great keyboard, great screen. All around just excellent. An added bonus is the fact that it only weighs about 4ish lbs. That's amazing for a gaming laptop. I have another laptop that weighs almost double that. It also has a pretty good battery. Bottom line - highly recommended.

This machine performs well at many tasks. The battery is great when the performance is limited. The display is great. Its matte finish is easy to read in many lighting conditions. The keyboard is well made and types easily. The power adapter is specific and powering via USB-C doesn't seem to charge the battery. The exterior finish is nice, it has a very small amount of texture to it and doesn't seem to hold any finger prints or smudges easily. The included software to control the performance, keyboard backlighting, and various other features is well made and has a great deal of control. The system has had some various blue screen issues with sleeping, and waking but this is a know issue with Windows and various hardware. Over all its a great machine and it performs well for the form factor.

This laptop is great and runs all AAA titles with ease as well as a bunch others. The only negative to this laptop is the fan sound. This thing sounds like a jet taking off if you change the setting to anything other than silent. If you have a headset however you can tune it out for the most part. Other than that this was a great buy.

This is a well built laptop, however I believe my unit may have been a dud. It ran very very hot right out of the box, but the display was beautiful & the 240hz was awesome. It seemed to have a number of issues aside from the thermals. I couldn't reset the laptop when making a return, it just would not reset to factory settings. It kept blue screening & getting super hot, like 90 Celsius just when loading up a game & not even playing it yet. I'd rate it lower, but the build quality itself is actually very good & I believe if they fix the thermals this is an excellent value for the money laptop. But I cannot recommend just due to the issues I had with it.

If you are a person who is perfectionist, I will tell you this laptop will get hot easy. But overall, I fall in love with this laptop.
