I recently had to purchase a cooling pad for this laptop because running the laptop at those temps is not good for the longevity of the machine. Not to mention after leaving for a underway and coming back the price dropped significantly from what it was purchased at and it hasn’t been a while since I bought it. Overall, I like the laptop it’s just that the thermals and price drop really affected my decision.

Only nitpick would be that I find the mode switch to be clunky, the screen dies out for a second but other than that, I find it money well spent

It took a while for me to get one, they never had it when it was on sale and couldn’t order one. Got it on sale but not as big of a sale, some how was able to order it then but definitely worth the money.

AVOID at ALL costs

The temps are insane, 90C on the CPU while playing WOW Classic at low settings (a game from 2006). GPU sat around 75C. The worst part is i could not last more than 30 min in game before the entire computer would brick up and the only way to fix it would be a hard restart using the power button. ASUS even wrote an article about this issue and how its their poorly designed MUX switch they installed and brag about. It forces you to use their Optimus switching back and fourth between the internal graphics and the GPU. They specifically recommended not forcing dGPU and leaving on automatic, which didnt fix the issue either. Between the extremely high temps, lack of ability to actually play games, and horrible bloat ware of ASUS I will be returning this and going with the Acer Predator as a recommendation from a friend who LOVES it.

Definitely didn't feel quite as smooth as I fell like a pc of this caliber should, but by no means a bad device.

Took it back got a replacement. Love this laptop no complaints, wouldve been 5 stars if not for the broken screen.

I have just 2 negative point; first ram can be 32 and normally in this level it has to be. Secondly in gaming mode cooling system can be loud.

Bad and strange behavior

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When it works, it does it perfectly, but most of the times the keyboard wont work for at least 1 minute or more after you powered on the pc, and it also has am error which just out of nowhere goes to sleep mode, as if you were not using it, once I had to plug it in in order to power it up back again, that is terrible, it was on 50% battery. It’s been a nightmare most of the times specially when you just powered it on

Better then a normal laptop
