The laptop itself is great. I have been using it for over one month and it's exceptionally powerful. But I am here to warn y'all DO NOT buy this laptop ON BEST BUY, especially in the store. The staff are basically SCAMMERS and LIARS. Here is what happened to me. The purchase itself was great. I didn't consider purchasing the membership along with the laptop on the day I purchased the laptop. Two weeks later I came back to the store and picked up a monitor, the staff there tried to convince me to buy the membership, and very specifically told me that ALL of the purchases I've made REGARDLESS of whether it's before or after the date that I purchase the membership will be eligible for best buy price match. He (the best buy staff) told me very specifically that it's a great deal since the Black Friday is right around the corner and I can price match for a big purchase like this laptop. I asked him about three times to confirm that it was ok for me to price match even if I bought the membership later than the laptop, and he confirmed THREE TIMES very firmly. This is the only reason why I purchased this stupid membership. After I saw the laptop in on sale today, of course I contacted the customer service to price match. After I sent all the information, the first representative Ivan told me everything was checked and good to go. I'll be expecting a refund receipt in my email in the next couple of hours or so. I was pretty happy and had been patiently waiting for this email to come. But almost 5 hours later, there was no best buy email showing up in my inbox and that's when I decided to contact customer service again, and here comes to the fun part. This time I was connected to the second representative Elena. I was straight up told that the membership didn't work for a price match if I purchased the membership after the laptop, which completely contradicted both what the staff I met in the store and the first representative Ivan said. She also told me basically to ignore what Ivan just said this morning and whatever she said is accurate. She said very vaguely that there was some information being misunderstood earlier. At this point I was also pretty confused as Ivan just confirmed eveything with me earlier this morning with my order number, full name, and other information. He even confirmed the exact purchase details like the series of my laptop. How could this information be possibly misunderstood???? With the exact order number, exact full name, phone number, and everything. I was very upset and felt being scammed at this point so I asked her to show me the record of the conversation that I had with Ivan earlier this morning to confirm which part of the information was mistaken. She replied something like 'Oh we do not provide the previous conversation record and whatever I said here is accurate, please ignore the previous conversation you had'. I am pretty speechless at this point. It felt like a straight-up scam to me, especially what was going on behind the customer service. Everything feels so shady and sketchy. Hopefully, this post will help some of you who are trying to purchase items and memberships in the future.
