Customers are saying
Customers commend the ROG Zephyrus M16 for its impressive performance, stunning display, and crisp graphics. However, some users report experiencing significant fan noise and heat generation, particularly during gaming. Concerns were also raised regarding battery life and the keyboard's design. While the lightweight design is appreciated, potential buyers should consider these trade-offs.

A steal if found on sale! Solid gaming laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at several different laptops ranging from $800 - $1200, this one actually made me stretch my budget a little bit I think it was on sale for $1400, but I noticed since day 1 it was worth the stretch! Compared to other units it is a top of the line gaming laptop! Asus is a great brand, great (GPU 3070ti is solid), plenty of ram, and display is high quality. If you want something to game on the run (without the charger), this isn't the unit battery off charge lasts a few hours (~3), but you can get ultra settings on most games. I wanted a multitasker that could play games at home on the charge and work on the run and it's fit that bill.

Asus Zaphyrus Rog
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, playing cs, cod, world of tanks and dota. Gets hot when plugged in and playing a game. Battery doesn’t last too long since it’s a gaming laptop. But it’s a cool laptop

excellent overall, a couple minor problems
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellet screen, bright enough to view outside on a sunny day, the hinge is a little flimsy, hot air does blow onto the screen, but the screen does not heat up significantly, the keyboard is not loud, it depends on how hard the keys are pressed, i'm not an excellent typist, but it was fairly easy to type on. the touchpad is gigantic, comfortable and of excellent quality, and i don't feel the need for a mouse unless i'm playing an first person game. th armoury crate software is excellent, if a little ram hungry, i would recommend getting a ram upgrade for this particular model as soon as you can get it. the laptop is fairly easy to get open, although there are rubber covers on 3 center screws. the laptop is very fast, capable of running everything i've thrown at it thus far, RAM usage is worrying, but there are no slowdowns, even when playing a game. the video card on my unit clocks almost as high as its desktop counterpart. everything works as expected, if not a little better, one ting to note, however, is that the finish has begun to wear off after the month-and-a-half that i have had this thing, so make what you will of that. also, the micro-cut holes on the back are a pain to keep clean, and the laptop is a tad bit of a fingerprint magnet, depending on how oily your fingers usually are. bettery life is around 4-5 hours with gpu on and maybe 6-7 hours wthout.

Fantastic laptop in 2023
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was able to snag it during the sale. The is my second gaming laptop and this one takes the cake (Previously owned a Legion 7 Pro 3070.) What do i like? Its lightweight and portable, The screen is gorgeous, fast GPU/CPU combo and the trackpad is absolutely perfect. The speakers are very nice, with great depth. What dont I like? The location of the ports are quite poor in my opinion. I much prefer Lenovo’s port locations which are on the back, making it way easier for cable management. The sound of the fans are on the louder side of things, but with any gaming laptop they will be loud under load, so there’s no real eay around it. Overall, i would 100% buy again

My very first Gaming Laptop and it's OUTSTANDING!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had mine (2022 i9 - but added extra RAM and 2TB SSD) since early May. Screen: no issues with the exhaust fan blowing air to the bottom of the screen. You'll love the 16x10 aspect ratio when viewing content and the brightness and sharpness of it. No issues with any gray lines and the backlight bleed is hardly there if any, if you told me I had it, I wouldn't have noticed. Besides the upgrades, I've taken a small strip of black electrical tape and covered the 3 indicator lights so it doesn't reflect on the screen when viewing movies in a dark environment. Fans are loud when gaming but that's to be expected - I demo'd the Alienware x15 R2 at a store and it seemed just as loud as the M16. Speakers: Love it - with the Realtek Audio settings it is so immersive watching movies and playing games. Even has some decent amount of bass compared to some other gaming laptops. Looks: I like it - when closed it looks sleek and modern and no one would think it's a gaming rig. Keyboard: Fantastic. It's not per key RGB but it's very nice and tactile to type on, very spacious and comfortable and has a sweet sound to my ears. Trackpad: Very large, smooth and fast. Excellent. Battery: Meh.. I can squeek by watching movies and web stuff for around 4 hours if I keep the brightness down and use a wired headset. Of course if I used Eco Mode then maybe an extra hour. Only thing is that the palm rest is smudge heaven. So I installed a black matte skin to minimize it. For the price of the M16 compared to Alienware and Razer, you get a lot for the money and it's very light for a 16" machine.

excellent for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely impressed with its performance. The Intel Core i9 processor combined with 16GB DDR5 memory ensures smooth multitasking and lightning-fast speeds. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card delivers stunning visuals and enhances my gaming experience to a whole new level. The 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD provides ample storage space for all my games, files, and media, while also offering rapid data transfer speeds. Additionally, the sleek off-black design adds a touch of sophistication to the laptop's overall aesthetic. I highly recommend the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus gaming laptop for gamers and power users seeking top-notch performance and reliability.

How con are the cons?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There’s always a con or two, but how bad is it really? Not that bad. The fans are loud but not unbearable and they do their job. It gets hot but everywhere your hands and fingers go is fine. The heat on the screen is weird but seems to not affect it. The little lights reflecting off the screen at the bottom aren’t that bad. There’s a little light bleed in my unit around the edges but it’s not visible in any program, in windows, or games. It’s finish does pick up fingerprints but it feels great and is very comfortable. Basically yes, there are some cons, the pros outweigh them, and they’re not even close to deal breakers for a portable and powerful machine. Don’t let a few dramatic reviews scare you. So far i think this thing is awesome.

Beastly laptop with a gorgeous screen
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bad reviews are because of a mix-up of exactly which configuration Best Buy is selling, which is an 8GB soldered + 8GB SO-DIMM, 1TB configuration. Looking past that, this laptop is great. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard and trackpad are very nice, and the weight/size is wonderful given how powerful this thing is. I have compared it to a 2021 Legion 7i (11980HK, 3080 165W) and this Zephyrus is within 10% of the Legion in graphics benchmarks and much higher in CPU benchmarks (nearly 20K in Cinebench R23) thanks to the 12th gen CPU. Battery life is decent for an Intel system, I get around 6-8 hours of use while using Visual Studio and a web browser. It can get loud, of course, but most games don't require the Turbo profile and the system is much quieter on the Performance profile. As long as you understand the RAM configuration, this is the laptop to beat at the moment.

Unassuming little powerhouse
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ill admit that I only have had a few days with this laptop, but it is a decent little machine so far. Its a lightweight sleeper, but power hungry when playing games. There are some head scratchers when it comes to design though. number 1 being the decision to put the display right directly into the hot airflow of the exhaust fans. I have the thought that this is causing the light bleed on the bottom left and right of the display. The status lights are also not too easy to see and end up giving a glare on the screen. To say this is a screamer is an understatement as when you are running games the fans kick up to maximum and are quite loud. All in all though I really am enjoying this laptop!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was able to get this laptop for $1700. Happy with my purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty happy with this laptop. Solidly built, feels sturdy. Great display. I added another RAM So-Dimm to bump it to the max 40 GB. Also added a second SSD. There is some heat generated when playing games, but it's not alarming. Only thing keeping it from a 4 star by me is the built in wifi which I could only pull 300 mbps max on the Ghz band. Got a USB wifi stick to double that. Battery life is impressive.
