Customers are saying

Customers commend the ROG Zephyrus M16 for its impressive performance, stunning display, and crisp graphics. However, some users report experiencing significant fan noise and heat generation, particularly during gaming. Concerns were also raised regarding battery life and the keyboard's design. While the lightweight design is appreciated, potential buyers should consider these trade-offs.

    Awesome portable laptop

I travel for a living so sold my asus g15 advantage and got this... Better performance, easier to carry... nobody talks about the power bricks but this 240W with a flexible cord is so much nicer to pack than the 280W from the advantage edition and doesn't even compare to the massive 300W the legion comes with... Please don't buy a thin and light with a 12th gen I9 then complain the fans are loud... game with headphones... If you want/need something portable this laptop is awesome, for someone who doesn't carry the laptop too much you may check out the strix g15

Bought this to do photo editing on, I run Adobe Lightroom classic and it’s worked pretty well, only crashed once but works smooth for the most part. Still a much better option than buying a Mac.

Pretty darn good gamer but it gets HOT as in hot to the touch on the keys while gaming...know this. I might even return it because it gets so hot to the touch...nervous about the temps for sure.

Replace my aging desktop with this machine. Battery life leave a a bit to be desired but that’s to be expected with the video card sucking so much power. Works well for streaming and video editing. If you can find it on sale I wouldn’t hesitate to grab one if it fits your needs.

The computer sells for $2,150, and I saw it on sale for $1,500 and let me tell you that the deal was totally worth it, the i9 and the powerful RTX 3070 ti at 120w you can play for favorite games on ultra with high fps. Pros: 60+ fps on ultra and raytracing on some of the newer games. (I say some because there are few you might have to go high instead of ultra, and tweak some settings to get 60fps) Competitive games, not problem you are gonna get 165+ fps Screen is beautiful with the 16:10 500* nits Speakers are amazing Keyboard is also really good ROG signature is also really good and easy to use. Cons: it’s a gaming computer and it obviously going to be loud, but who doesn’t use headphones when gaming? It gets warm but not hot like many say in their reviews, at least not playing Dead Space and Howarts or Fortnite Overall it’s a great machine if you get a deal and let me tell you I am way happier with this laptop than I was with my Razer Blade 3070, So if you can, get it !!!

Love this laptop. As reviewed on the Youtube Channel Short Circuit, this laptop's keyboard is just top tier! The battery life on Ultimate (MUX Enabled, dedicated GPU Only) is super low, maybe about an hour. However, on standard or optmized mode, the laptop can run about 4 hours well! The touchpad is large and super great to use and the audio is STELLAR! Definetely configure Dolby Sound and set the soundstage to wide and it is incredible. I highly recommend this laptop, but note: 1. This doesn't qualify for ASUS extended warranty and must be bought through Best Buy instead 2. The Build quality is mostly great, but one corner started freying a bit within 2 months of purchasing it but never spread further. 3. The laptop get's loud enough to lift a small cat when in Turbo mode but this is definetely worth it as it allows for higher clocks on the GPU and CPU when running. Silent mode is also available for less FPS. 4. RGB is not per key which is definetely disappointing. 5. Screen is NOT HDR. It is an 8-bit panel with HDR decoding through Dolby Vision

For what it is, its a powerhouse and a great machine. The only downside is the design of the heating vents. The vents shoot the heat directly at the bottom of the screen. So your screen is being blasted with 100+ degrees when gaming and running high intensive programs. Typically at the bottom of the screen is a daughterboard for the screen which has its chips and connectors. This concerns me quite a bit as im wondering how long its going to last. Short term, the reviews are correct. Im already experiencing lcd bleed at the bottom. Reason of mentioning, I think its due to the design of the fans blowing heat on it...

Main issue is that it has a single ddr slot and 8gb soldered on. Doesnt seem to be any way to set memory speed so its probably locked to the soldered in speed.

It runs great for a good price , it may get a little hot when running on full blast but the 120hz is great the keys are smooth. My only gripe is I wish I could have gotten a white instead of black model it seems to get everything on it.

This is the best laptop at the moment that fits my use cases and criteria. I have been looking since last year specifically for a light, 16in gaming laptop that had above average performance components. I really wanted the 2021 Asus M16 with RTX 3070 (up to 100W), but it was never sold locally. I'm glad I held off other brands and was surprised the 2022 generation came with an even more powerful RTX 3070 TI that goes up to 120W. The 12th gen Intel has benefitted the battery department though not really comparable to AMD reported figures. I get about 5-6 hours on 60% brightness surfing the web and streaming media. I can't complain as I am getting this kind of battery life from an above average gaming laptop that has a 16in screen and weighs under 4.4 pounds! This laptop stays quiet and cool most of the time as I tend to keep it in silent mode from the Asus armory software. I don't need any performance or turbo boost when using the laptop to consume media (web, stream, etc). I like that it does not have a numpad as it keeps the touch pad and typing experience in the center. It does warm up quite a bit in gaming sessions, but I often use either an xbox controller or external keyboard. The noise is unavoidable, but for how thin and light this laptop is, it would need its fans to work overtime to dissipate the heat. It doesn't really concern me as I would have headphones on while gaming. The fan noise does sound like a plane is taking off. Its a higher and louder pitch than the laptops I used in the past. Not a huge fan of the soft touch material around the palm rests and am concerned about its longevity over time. The hinge design does lift up the keyboard for a relatively nicer typing experience, but inadvertently causes keyboard flex. I am switching over from a 2018 razer blade 15 and before I bought the Asus I tried using the much more bulkier 2021 Lenovo Legion 7. The Asus feels like the best of the two. Great performance like the Legion 7, but with the dimension and weight of the Razer. The Asus is actually lighter, but artificially thicker due to the higher rubber feet. Overall, I really like my Asus and its perfect for me. It is priced a bit higher than I expected, but I can't find any better alternatives that fit my criterias.

Pros: price cheaper than other options currently available. Good screen QHD 165hz Gpu can be overclocked and boosted to 120w. Powerful 12900h cpu Thinner than most gaming laptops. Cons: Poor thermal performance.Runs too hot, spikes up to 100c all the time. Fans are loud as an airplane taking off. Bios update has disabled any undervolting. Abysmal software support on asus website.
