Customers are saying
Customers commend the ROG Zephyrus M16 for its impressive performance, stunning display, and crisp graphics. However, some users report experiencing significant fan noise and heat generation, particularly during gaming. Concerns were also raised regarding battery life and the keyboard's design. While the lightweight design is appreciated, potential buyers should consider these trade-offs.

Great performance (for a laptop)
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tgp of the 3070ti is 125W, which delivers solid performance for most games. I prefer to play 2k at 144fps on high settings, and this pc can handle that with less graphically demanding games. Things like msfs2020 can start to get some frame rate drops/tearing, but that is expected with a program with such demands. Battery life is great when not being used for games. The 2540x1660 screen is great and its 160hz compliments it well.

Lightweight and a gorgeous display with a punch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on sale and out of box for an incredible price of $1,250. I did thorough research and found that the M16 has even exceeded my expectations. The selling point of this is the incredible display. It is so bright and smooth, better than any display I've seen. It honestly even makes it hard to go back to my 27 inch 1440p gaming monitor for my desktop. The laptop itself is also very well built and sturdy feeling. The lightweight feel compared to most gaming laptops is noticeable as well. The keyboard is so smooth and feels great to type on. One complaint would be the soft rubber leaves oil and fingerprints which makes it seem dirty but that is the one thing. The i9 is lightning fast and so smooth to use for web browsing and office work. I am running on silent and eco mode and the laptop is fully functional and completely silent. The fan is of course loud while gaming or performing intensive tasks but that is the tradeoff you make with the weight of the laptop and that is worth it to me. Battery life is a slight issue especially if not in silent and eco mode but I usually have mine plugged in so it's not a dealbreaker. The M16 crushes most laptops in this pricepoint, especially in the lightweight category, and the truly incredible display is something that sets it apart. It's so good that you should consider this for it if you are between this and one that has slightly better hardware. If you see this for less than $1,500 buy it immediately, you will not regret it.

Great All Around Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love it. I was concerned about the amount of RAM, and figure I can always add more, but so far it hasn't been an issue. Boots quickly and runs all the games and applications that I need.

Buy a Desktop if you trying to reach 200fps on max
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.don't get me wrong, this is good, but if you trying to go into the hardest, ray tracing, max settings, to go above your screen referesh rate, then consider buying a desktop instead, the laptop handels itself very well, gaming is fantastic on this, i use it for work, and on downtime it gets the time rolling, I needed speed to work on doccuments and class work for my students, but don't buy this to play Cod MW2 Remastered at max for 12 hours straight, unless you trying to start a house fire.

I absolutely LOVE this laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is so much fun to use! It's quick, it's powerful, it's upgradeable, and it isn't too expensive. It's not a cheap laptop by any means but it's a GREAT value. The i9 is snappy and the 3070ti makes games so enjoyable at a great framerate. The speakers sound really good for a laptop! They aren't quite MacBook Pro or Dell XPS tier but they can play Crab Rave really well. The 2560x1600 screen is gorgeous. Colors are vibrant and accurate and the refresh rate is perfect for a laptop at that resolution.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent laptop. used it to run 3d scanning and printing software as well as cad software no problem. I had it for about 3 weeks and one day after not using it for 2 days it wouldnt turn on. Plugged it in and it still wouldnt turn on but then the fan came on full blast. Returned the next day for a new one. Hopefully this one lasts a bit longer.

Too Noisy
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest, this laptop is a little disappointing, the performance is okay, but the fan is so noisy when playing games or running some heavy duties that it is hardly can be ingored. I don't even want to bring it to public places now.

Laptop is great, Best Buy is not
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No issues with the laptop itself other than the fan noise can get loud, but Best Buy said I would get the full manufacturer warranty when they pushed me towards an open-box. Surprise, you don't get any warranty and they want me to drive an hour to the nearest store to get help vs fixing it over the phone.

Posted .Dear JosephT,
We do understand your disppointment with BestBuy and your concern about the fan noise.
It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

Keyboard gets very very hot
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a nice laptop but over priced full price. The I9 is a nice cpu but you can save money and get the same specs with an I7. I had this laptop and returned it after 59 days because it runs way to hot. I ended up geting an I7 with the same specs and found it to run much cooler then the I9.

Posted .Dear Lb34,
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if it didn't meet your expectations.
It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

HOTTEST LAPTOP EVER
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is beautiful, the screen is beautiful, the feel is beautiful, but my goodness it is the HOTTEST laptop I have ever owned. Sitting idle it was uncomfortable to pick up. Under load (gaming) the keyboard was uncomfortable to have hand on. It would get so hot it would heat up the lap tray it was sitting on. The heat through the laptop tray would be so excessive I would have to turn on the ceiling fan to cool myself off. It got so hot it shut down itself several times. I don't know if it was because of heat, but games crashed several times too. Obviously, with that much heat running fans to balance heat creates noise. The fans are loud at those speeds. The Geforce experience wouldn't download the latest driver. I had to uninstall it and install drivers off Nvidia website. Maybe not the laptops fault, but its the only device I've had issues with. Since the screen lifts up the laptop there are no ports on the back, so the power cord plugs into the left side of the laptop, not something I enjoyed. I returned this laptop and purchased Acer Helios 300. The Helios 300 has i7, but because the GPU power limit is 150 compared to 100 on the M16 the Helios gets better gaming performance. It is also SO SO SO much cooler running the same games. The Helios 300 was also $600 less on sale.
