How the laptop is designed and with a little bit of use the screen gets pretty warm

Runs most of the latest and greatest games well. I upgraded memory to max which. Keyboard temperature runs comfortable but warm

Terrible design. The cooling fans blow on the screen. I returned it and purchased an acer.

The laptop comes with 8GB soldered + 8GB in the open slot. ASUS is responding in the "Questions and Answers" section and misleading consumers to believe that it comes with 16GB soldered. I'll be returning mine for this reason.

So as others have stated, this asus gaming laptop runs hot. Right? but We should all settle our expectations just a little bit. The reason I am saying this is because gaming desktops run way hotter but because they have space to add sufficient cooling, you don’t really complain. At least I don’t. This laptop is super thin and light so it’s going to run hot. I will say that I wouldn’t mind if it was super thick if that meant better cooling. But thin is in I guess? With that being said I really like this laptop. It literally has nearly top of the line specs from a 12th gen i9, 16gb ram(newest spec) a 3070ti and a gen 4 nvme. This monster is jammed packed with every possible top end component. At a reasonable price all things considered. I game heavy. More so lately on my ps5, then my gaming desktop and then lastly on this m16 when I want to play on the couch while My wife watches tv. I usually run warzone, rocket league and apex legends. this machine runs them very well on medium to high settings. Especially with DLSS. I will say that once the CPU-GPU get warm it will throttle slightly. So you will lose some performance. But it’s a laptop so I won’t knock it any further! Also I don’t plan to run games on this all day. I like to just watch YouTube videos and maybe some Netflix or Hulu while laying in bed. I’m sure most of us will use it for these situations as well. Plus if you are a student this will work well for class and then game a little while on break. Just take your charger and run on medium power settings. Screen is beautiful. 1600p is super sharp with great viewing angles. It’s super bright as well. Hdr400 I believe. Backlit keyboard is nice. But only one color at a time. I would have preferred full RGB. And also some RGB chassis lights as well. But the price will be higher. So it’s fine. If you are in the market for a gaming laptop but want to use for everyday uses or school and you want a future proof laptop. I can definitely recommend if your budget allows and I would highly recommend buying a laptop cooling pad from Bestbuy (if they have any) or Amazon. It will help for sure. Plus it will be more comfortable while using on your lap. This is not a perfect gaming laptop. But it’s a beast. Good luck and happy shopping y’all!

I’m getting ready to do a warranty exchange… again. I wanted to give this a second try just in case but this is overheating all the time now. I play Cold War quite a bit and the CPU and GPU aren’t on max settings at all and it still shuts down because it overheats every other game. The keyboard and everywhere on the front gets very hot to the point where I’m not touching it and using an external display and keyboard mouse.

In less than 2 months my display stopped working. It is currently in route to replaced under warranty but that is very concerning.

After spending a week with this laptop I feel I've reached my conclusion on it, this baby is hot... too hot. After looking around this laptop had all the features I wanted. 16" 16:10 2560x1600 165Hz 500nit display was everything I wanted in a laptop display but the i9 killed this laptop for me. The i9 is awfully inefficient and hot, intel sacrifices everything for raw power this may be okay for some users but I need an efficient powerful laptop. At the time of me writing this review the Ryzen 9 6900HS is getting its reviews out and it is so close to the i9's performance while having 8 cores compare to i9's 14 and drawls less power and thus heat. The i9 on this laptop constantly throttled at 100c and WASD keys were noticeably hot, with the top frame for the PC being too hot to touch for more than 2 seconds. The constant throttling was noticeable in games cause constant hitches and dips in frame while gaming. This would've been the perfect laptop with a Ryzen 9 6900HS, now I have to choose between the Zephyrus 15 and 14 do I want the amazing Nebula display in the G14 or the 3070Ti in the G15... the M16 had it all but the i9 ultimately held it back. I was getting 2.5Hrs in highest battery saving state on the i9 in light web surfing, reviews have the Ryzen 9 lasting up to 8hrs on battery, and Ryzen RDNA2 APU is so much better than intel Iris graphics that gaming on battery on Ryzen 9 6900HS is actually possible, meanwhile you need to plugged in on the i9 to game.

One month after purchase, no problems. All experiences with this laptop have been positive and its pretty badass when playing games.

Awesome machine. Wish it was better. Laptops just aren’t nearly as good as desktops and costs so much more. One day I will learn.

Sleek look, fast processor and great visuals. The laptop does get hot. It would be good to get purchase a laptop fan with it.

Great laptop but it had odd hard drive failure so had to return it.

Great fast performing computer with exceptional display. The only drawback on this laptop is that the fans can get extremely loud in turbo mode. I would definitely recommend this computer to a friend.

I had Software and Graphics driver problems at first but a few updates and it's been rolling down the hill!

Only a month in, so still getting set up and not a lot of use yet. But, all great so far. Awesome display, nice feel for keyboard and easy to use track pad, great speed. Cool backlighting. Quiet.

Returned due to a dead pixel but besides that the laptop was really nice

The surface is really get smudge easily. It is nice feeling to touch but not worth it for me.
