Amazing Cost to Performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of power for an affordable price. So far it has been pretty flawless for the first couple of months. My wife plays Diablo on it a lot, but I have yet to play something more aggressive. Like any performance laptop, it has loud fans. If you want a computer with a discrete graphics card, that’s the way it is. In the future we will be using this computer for photo and video editing while traveling. It has a friendlier travel size than my Asus ROG Strix Advantage. It is a little bit more slim and has a significantly smaller power supply. Overall this is a great computer that we got on sale. The power the price ratio was very affordable.

I would never buy it at full-price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I am happy with it. The settings for different components like keyboard and theme are in different locations on the computer, which is silly and required googling to figure out. The screen has lines that appear when dimmed, but fixes by changing the brightness. It runs really warm, even when I am just doing basic schoolwork on Word with some tabs open for research. However, it is fast and the colors look great and runs all the games I have without crashing.

Perfect if you can handle the fan noise
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this laptop; it has a beautiful screen, powerful hardware, and it looks amazing. I was able to play all games with 60FPS in the native resolution. I connected an external monitor via USB-C to Displayport cable, and G-Sync worked perfectly, with the monitor connecting directly to the dGPU. It's almost perfect, but it has an issue that is critical and a deal-breaker for me personally. Others may be able to overlook it, but I could not: It is VERY loud when gaming. It sounds like a jet engine as soon as you open up a game. If you use the silent mode fan profile, it is silent, but you won't be able to game with the reduction in performance. For example, playing World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic in 1080p, you can get 300+ FPS with max settings with the fans screaming in "Performance" mode. If you set it to "Silent", that FPS will drop to 30s as the machine heats up and thermal throttles the hardware. I tried tinkering with fan profiles and power settings, but I could not find a decent balance between performance and noise. It's either too loud, or thermal throttles and underpowered. I bought this computer to upgrade from my 2022 Razer Blade 14 3060 when I saw this was on sale. In comparison to my Razer, this is MUCH louder. It's loud to the point that it easily distracts and annoys you while gaming, even with the game audio at a decent volume with external speakers. The Razer also increases in volume as the fans spin up during gaming, but it never gets anywhere near the fan speed/volume of the Asus M16. If you're able to look beyond the jet-engine like fan noise, then this is a perfect machine. I considered keeping it, but even if I personally am able to learn to zone out the noise, I game in the same room as my wife, and the noise drives her insane when she's trying to watch TV or just browse the web on her machine.

Good gaming laptop with a few issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased April of 2022 Laptop is good for gaming and I've had several 100s of hours of enjoyment out of it. But I had some issues with the CPU fan. The CPU fan went out in September 2022 I ran the ASUS support app to get a ticket generated for it. It listed on the ASUS support site that geek squad would be handling the repair(and a link to geek squads website). I put in a service ticket with best buys geek squad in Burleson, TX/South Ft. Worth location. When I arrived the associate at the geek squad counter had no idea what I was talking about and "paraphrasing", "I'm not sure why ASUS keeps sending y'all here for repairs" and that, "I could buy a new fan and they would replace it for me but it would be at my expense."(still under warranty) Long story short the fans are terrible quality, bought a set of fans online and replaced it myself. It is now September the aftermarket fan I purchased last year did better than the oem but it is starting to fail on me again. If you want a laptop for intense gaming for prolonged periods of time this is probably not the laptop for you. Battery life isn't great and it runs extremely hot 95°c on the CPU when the fans are working properly.

Excellent performance, good build quality.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent performance, but can be a bit loud if you don't properly tune it. As a desktop replacement it's excellent, just make sure you get a small elevated stand for it for adequate cooling. As for portability, in my limited testing, the 12th gen Intel chips do a pretty excellent job of keeping power consumption down. However, the 3070Ti can really eat up battery life, so keep that in mind if you're gaming on the go. The only criticism I'd level at it is the poor LED placement that reflects on the very bottom of the screen. While this isn't an issue while just running Windows - if you plan on watching movies, it may be distracting.

Good value if you catch it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought on sale and it has been great for what I need. It's a bit too pricey at full price but when it goes on sale it's a good value. Not too heavy or bulky and makes for a good daily driver and can still play games as needed. Battery life suffers and can barely manage 2 hours. The soldered RAM is a bit disappointing as it limits your upgrade options. Best Buy didnt offer the 32GB variant at the time so I'm stuck with 8GB soldered in instead of 16GB.

Another great ASUS ROG
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop, I've had other ASUS ROG models and this one is another great unit. Fast, quiet, beautiful screen and good balance between size and weight. For a 16" gaming, this thing is light. I had purchased the M15 alienware before this and it was much heavier. I ended up returning the alienware because it would freeze and it ended up being a great problem becuase it led me to this laptop. I'm glad to be back to ASUS ROG. One thing I like too is that you can limit the charging to 80% and 60% so if you keep it plugged in, like I do, the battery life won't be affected.

Its really powerful!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the most powerful laptop I have ever purchased! However, there are a few problems with it with the first major one being significant backlight bleed. The second is battery life which is only about 3-4 hours doing web browsing on eco mode. Finally, the third, is the keyboard sometimes will register a key press twice. These issues could be limited to my model though.

So Close to Perfect...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is phenomenal. Pros: +Lightning Fast +Fantastic Gaming performance +Thin and Portable Design +Satisfying and Tactile Keyboard +Easy Portability +Gorgeous Screen Cons -The loudest fan in the history of mankind -Hot air blows on your face if you sit to close Everything about this machine is great. It's an awesome value compared to comparable offerings from Razer and some other brands. The fan is really obscenely loud when you are doing anything other than light web browsing. That's the compromise for the form factor and performance, but it doesn't make it any less obnoxious. Unless you need a dedicated desktop replacement, I can't see this laptop not meeting your needs.

Lightweight, beautiful display and fast!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really fast and powerful laptop. Nice keyboard and trackpad. Only thing to complain about is the amount of heat it produces while simple gaming. Battery life could be better. Otherwise an excellent display, lightweight to carry and an awesome replacement for my ancient HP pavilion!!

Awesome product for the right application
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have spent a week with this laptop so this is more of a first impression than an all encompassing review. With that said it has been perfect for my application. I am a professional, student, and occasional gamer. To me this is where this laptop shines. It has a premium feel with good build quality, does not look too goofy to take to a meeting, sports a beautiful screen, and can still run current titles with relatively high frame rates. The fan noise when gaming can be excessive if pushed in performance mode, but because I don't do a whole lot of gaming that does not bother me personally. I have always felt like a gaming laptop was a bit of a compromise in the first place, but for the right use case I think this strikes a good compromise between style, portability, and performance.

Ok performance, little pricey
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is good so far my issue is that they spoke so highly of the nebula display but I have a bunch of backlight bleed in the bottom left corner. The 3070ti isn't that much better than the old 3060 model and nowhere near the desktop 3070. To put it in perspective in god of war I get around 100 fps on ultra on my desktop vs only 61 ish on this laptop. On Rise of the tomb raider I get around 120 fps on ultra on my desktop and around 80 on this laptop. Halo infinite ultra 3070ti: 90 fps and desktop 3070: 140 fps. However this is more of an nvidia issue, they really shouldn't be calling these things 3070ti when they perform like a 3060 and sometimes worse. Also the whole ram situation sucks, I don't mind having two 8GB sticks since they can be upgraded however having an awkard number of ram due to 8GB being soldered like 24GB or 40GB and using mismatched RAM can sometimes cause issues and its a hassle finding the correct memory. If the RAM wasn't soldered you could just buy a pair which is easier. Battery life isn't very good either, typing this review with no other tabs open on "Windows" mode I have 72% battery with 1 hr 37 mins left. If this wasn't nearly $2500 after taxes it would have been fine but asking price is too much, at least put 32GB of RAM.

Bothersome Quality Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've purchased this laptop twice now, because the first one I purchased had so many small quality issues that I couldn't stand it. It had: Whole-screen backlight bleed. Content with a black background became a bright yellow. It made it unwatchable and immersion breaking. This is by far my biggest complaint. The TAB key and R key required 2x the force to actuate. I also had some issues with the laptop overall: The keyboard deck was hot enough to physically burn my fingers when on Turbo mode. My thumb and pointer fingers were red and felt like I touched a hot pan. The keyboard deck looks like you're painting it with your fingerprints. Using the laptop for just 2 minutes will leave a noticeable grease spot, even if you just washed and dried your hands. The fans can get pretty loud, but I wear noise-canceling headphones. Thicker gaming laptops are quieter at full load. Only one RAM slot, the other is soldered to the board. 16GB isn't enough for my workloads, and a single 32GB stick of DDR5 is cost-prohibitive. Just include two slots. And guess what? The replacement unit has equally as bad backlight bleed as the original I purchased. Completely unusable in dark movie scenes. Black becomes yellow in various locations on the edge of the display. It's really unfortunate, because I REALLY want to love this laptop. It's incredibly powerful with the RTX 3070-TI, yet also surprisingly efficient in iGPU-only mode. The keyboard keys are nice, with enough travel for me. The trackpad is massive, glass-topped, and very responsive. The display is absolutely stunning in bright scenes with 500 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. But the little things matter, and they make this laptop a very poor choice for me. I wish I could love it, ASUS. But this backlight bleed is unacceptable on a laptop with an MSRP around $2200. It's unacceptable on anything that costs more than $1000, if you ask me.

Great laptop, good specs, unexpected insides
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has treated me very well. All the asus software is kinda annoying and windows 11 is a dumpster fire of an OS; but that can be fixed with a simple format. After I got rid of the bloatware (and Asus software) this thing has been handling everything I've thrown at it. The one gripe I have is that this model with 16GB of RAM has people all over the Internet talking about how this specific model has a 16GB dim soldered to the mobo (under the keyboard) and the one ram slot (on the other/accessible side of the mobo) is empty for you to expand with. So I bought this model specifically to drop a 32GB ram stick into and go up to the models advertised max ram compatibility size of 48GB, but when I opened it I found an 8GB stick in the one slot meaning there's an 8GB dimm soldered to the board. This is what your supposed to find within cheaper Zephyrus models.

Cool but gets hot too easily.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've had this for a while and it's bee great so far, but I can't give it a 5 stars only because it overheats very easily even with games that aren't that heavy if it's not plugged in. The battery life isn't very long either but that was expected from the reviews and what the descriptions have mentioned. Overall a solid computer if you don't mind using it plugged in and/or connected to other monitors. The main monitor is fine and so is the keyboard and trackpad but I prefer to use it closed connected to my screens. But the overheating is concerning,it gets to the point where I can hear the fan loud and clear trying to keep the computer from melting, I'm not the type to keep my computer on all night and day, I actually turn it off when I'm not using it or won't be home so could be better I think especially for the price.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is a solid gaming laptop, but it's not without its quirks. The impressive power under the hood, featuring an Intel Core i9 and RTX 3070 Ti, delivers great gaming performance. However, the build quality could be better, and the battery life leaves much to be desired. While it's a capable machine for gamers, it falls short in some key areas.
