Ended up finding the VG249Q3A. The specs compared to my old monitors blew them away. Then I saw the price, $109 on sale. Purchased 2 and I've been very happy w/ the purchase.

I was using a macbook for so long, I forgot how wide a 23.8 inch monitor was, not to mention 2! Setup was very easy and it is very nice to finally be able to have enough screen space to multitask without any issues.

Both monitors randomly go into standby mode, even when being actively used, this has occurred with both the Windows and Mac computers. The HDMI cable is securely in the port and there is no wiggle to it. The fix is usually tu turn it on again and then switch HDMI inputs back and forth to get it to realize there really is a signal coming from the connected device.
