Disappointed Customer
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1 month after purchase there was a black line down the middle of the screen. Best Buy would take it back or replace and said we had to go though the manufacturer. Multiple phone calls later, I still can’t get a return label so I can send it back and “possibly” be replaced.

GREAT Curved, HDR Monitor with Full Rotation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS TUF Curved Monitor with G Sync is an amazing curved gaming monitor. In the box, you get: - the 27" curved monitor - stand - HDMI and Display Port Cables (nice to have them included, thanks ASUS) - power cable Setup took seconds, the arm is already connected so your just need to thumb screw in the base. The base is the right size, not too big for a desk and the arm has cable runs. I was happy to discover that the stand rotates but also the arm allows you to switch the monitor 90 degrees (left or right). I have owned other curved monitors in the past and this is the first I have seen in this price range that includes this feature. On that basis alone, I would recommend this monitor and I am thinking of getting a second, one for gaming and another for occasional vertical use to keep discord running. I do want to know, cable lengths were all good (power, HDMI, Display) for a floor based gaming RIG. As for the display, it's very sharp. No light bleeds, or faded spots. Playing Starfield was amazing on the curved screen, blacks were deep and colors were rich especially in HDR. Very immersive experience. On FPS games, I did Destiny 2 and Fortnite, my two go to titles and there was no tearing and no frame drops (gaming on a RTX4070) connected by Display Port. The monitor supports overclocking up to 280Hz refresh rate which is insane. One of the things I love and appreciate about the ASUS TUF, it supports both HDMI and Display Port, making it great for gaming but also if you need to occasionally do work - you can have your gaming PC hooked up and switch to another computer for that Zoom call. Things to know - there's no RGB lighting (I don't see that as a loss, I don't like RGB lighting on a monitor). Menu controls are easy to navigate. If I had one complaint or miss is it caps out at 1920x1080. This is perfectly OK if you're using it on a PC based environment but if you're after a gaming monitor for a console you may prefer 4k. I would definitely recommend this monitor and if you're after a dual monitor setup, the 90degree rotation makes the ASUS TUF a great choice.

Vivid Color FHD, Outstanding Customizable Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor has a TFT LCD* curved panel which is great for gaming. The 1ms Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) and up to 240Hz refresh rate means you can play any game without blurring or ghosting. Its performance was terrific for the games I play, an FPS and MMO. The curve has the effect of making you feel like you're in the middle of the action, and the color is vivid and contrast excellent. The full HD 1080 gives sharp detail. There's a large selection of features to enhance and adjust the picture and performance to suit individual tastes and tailor monitor performance to the type of game being played or streaming video being watched. It should be noted, however, that not all features can be used at the same time. All adjustments are made using the OSD (on screen display) controls on the back right side of the monitor. (In Windows computers you have to turn on HDR in Windows Settings). HDR - High Dynamic Range - Enhances color and contrast - when this setting is turned on, the following have a default setting that cannot be changed: ELMB - Extreme Low Motion Blur - OFF ASCR - Asus Smart Contrast Ratio - OFF Game Visual - defaults to Racing Mode Shadow Boost - Enhances dark areas - OFF. ELMB - Extreme Low Motion Blur - this is designed to reduce eye tracking motion blur. This feature has 5 levels of adjustment. When turned on, FreeSync Premium, OD, and ASCR default to off and cannot be turned on. Overclocking - This is the refresh rate control, can be set from 60Hz up to 240Hz, up to 260Hz according to the manual, if the DisplayPort is used. Also can be set in Windows Settings. All my games performed great set at 240Hz. OD - Overdrive - reduces gray level response time, has five levels or can be turned off, the default is level 3. FreeSync Premium reduces tearing and flickering, it can't be used with ELMB. Game Visuals - There are 7 game visual modes - Scenery, Racing, Cinema, RTS/RPG, FPS, sRGB, and MOBA. When HDR is turned on Racing is the default mode. Image and Color settings cannot be adjusted when HDR is turned on. Being confronted with all these optional settings I found was initially a bit intimidating, but the best thing to do is play around with all of them to see their on-screen effects and game play effects, till you find the settings that best suit your preferences and the game you're playing. Alternately you could just turn on HDR and forget about any other adjustments if you're happy with the look and performance of your game play with HDR. The other hardware features include: 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort, which is great for having one connected to a PC and the other a video streaming device and/or additional monitor. Audio out 3.5mm for headphone or speaker system. 1 USB Type B input port. 2 USB Type A output ports. 2 2W built-in speakers - they are ok for voice listening but not for gameplay, music or movies. The monitor screen can pivot, tilt, swivel, has height adjustment, and can be wall mounted (VESA 100x100). This is a great gaming monitor for the price, I don't think you can do better unless you want to step up in size or resolution, in which case you're going to pay a lot more. *Some websites incorrectly show this monitor as having an IPS panel.

Impressive hassle-free high refresh gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect timing on the release of this 27" Asus TUF 240hz gaming monitor! I have been planning to do a gaming PC setup for my twin boys and this monitor has a great blend of features. I've become a bit of a snob for high refresh displays so I'm happy to be able to set my kids up with a 240hz display. Out of the box, the monitor was super easy to set up as it arrives with part of the stand pre-attached to the back of the monitor, and the base just screws into the pedestal with one hand-turnable screw. Included in the box are pretty much all the standard cables you'd need to get things going - a DisplayPort cable, an HDMI cable, a USB 3.0 cable for the built-in hub, and the power adapter. I was really surprised and impressed that the power saving options in the menus on the display give you the option to keep the USB hub powered on even in standby - this is AWESOME! It greatly speeds up the time to log in especially when using Windows Hello Face login. So far, I have connected this display to 3 different computers (2 laptops and one desktop) using a variety of connection options. I've used a USB-C -> DP cable I already had as well as the included HDMI and DP cables. The USB-C to DP and DP to DP cables both offered the full 240hz refresh rate, while the HDMI connection supported 165hz with my laptops. The display does support HDR400, and I was able to use HDR even at the full 240hz on displayport. However, at 240hz the only supported color mode was 8bit with dithering instead of full 10 bit color. I did notice that gradient handling/banding is a little better in HDR mode vs SDR, which is expected. Gaming performance was excellent and actually better than I expected. My primary gaming display is a 240hz OLED and while there is a tiny bit more motion blur with this Asus TUF display, it's certainly a huge improvement from a budget display at a lot less cost than an ultra premium display. Input lag is completely unnoticeable at either 165hz or 240 hz. I really liked the option in the game settings to display not just the real time refresh rate but also a histogram of the last few seconds so you can see if there have been any dips. The only downside with this feature is it takes up a pretty big chunk of the top of the screen. If you're looking for a high refresh rate display for eSports gaming and don't want to blow the budget on an ultra high end GPU, this Asus 1080p 240hz TUF display is a great choice that has tons of features at a really good price.

Another solid Asus display
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus has always built a great monitor. I've had a few over the years that always displayed a crisp, vibrant picture, and I was hoping this screen would do the same. Needless to say, I was in no way disappointed by the Asus TUF Gaming VG27V. With a crisp, bright screen and a resolution of 1080P, this display pairs nicely with mid-range graphic cards and older graphic cards such as the GeForce RTX 3060TI, the GeForce GTX 980, the Intel ARC A750, the Radeon Vega 64, and the Radeon RX6600. First impressions - The display is packaged well. It comes with a HDMI cable, a DisplayPort cable, a USB 3.1 cable (type A to type B), and an external power supply. Setup is relatively easy, needing no tools. There's also a cable guide hole in the base on the monitor that's more than large enough to pass through power, USB, three video cables, and the wires for your USB-connected desk accessories. The stand is height adjustable, swivels left and right, and allows the screen to rotate 90 degrees to the left or right. It's also heavy so the base won't move much while adjusting the screen position. The two-port USB 3.1 hub on the monitor is a nice bonus, though a USB-C connection would be preferrable - especially for laptop users. Usage - The screen is super crisp for a 1080p screen. The high refresh rates make for smooth experiences in games and with general usage. The display supports both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync Premium, with 240hz on the DisplayPort and 165hz on the HDMI ports. HDR10 is also supported for systems and games that support them. The control buttons on the back of the display are some of the easiest to use. I was able to tweak the display's colors quickly without looking at the buttons. The only real negative? The integrated speakers distort. But no one buys a monitor to use the built-in speakers. Also, the power brick could have been integrated but at least it's tiny. All in all, a solid performer. While I'd go with higher resolution for those of you with high-end graphics cards (GeForce 3080+/4080+. Radeon 6900+/7900+), this is a solid choice for the majority of gamers who put frames over resolution.

DULL AND DULLER
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Screen is dull and it does not have a 4:3 mode. My laptop display color is very vibrant but when I hook it up to the monitor, the monitor just looks ashy and gray. It reminds me of how the big screen TVs used to look 30 years ago. I watched YouTube videos on how to change color, read tech threads, and even played with it for a while but to no avail. Iwould not purchase this brand again. Very disappointed.

In a word... Beautiful.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't ever owned a curved monitor, so stepping into this type of display with this monitor was a wholly new experience for me as I'd never understood the hype. Suffice to say, I get it now. The monitor is gorgeous. Out of the box the color reproduction seems to stand a cut above the rest, the curvature is a delight to look at, and the high refresh rate of 240Hz results in smooth visuals that are basically incomparable... So let me get a little more specific. Packaging is about like any monitor, it comes in a large (larger than you'd expect because of the curve) cardboard box, inside is the manual, 2 cables for connectivity (1x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort) and the power brick. It's important to note that this monitor uses a power brick instead of the standard AC power cable that most monitors have used in the past. Setting it up is a breeze, just screw on the base, the monitor is fully articulate, moving up and down on the stand as well as swiveling and tilting, really no issues with anything here. It's worth noting that the Displayport capability of the monitor is DP 1.2, however this is sufficient to fully drive the 1080p at 240Hz capabilities of this monitor. Now for the fun part... I loaded up Forza, I've played COD, I've uncapped the framerate on Diablo IV, you name it, I've done it... The visuals are a cut above, the curve gives an interesting "all the same distance from my eyes" feel to what I'm looking at and really makes for a wonderful experience. It's Bright, it's HDR, the color reproduction is amazing, and all of this in Asus' TUF brand which is traditionally their money-saving line. I have to say, it doesn't feel like a budget line monitor, every part of the build and every part of the experience really gives a wonderful look and feel. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Very Good Gaming (and all-round use) Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS - TUF 27" IPS LED FHD G-SYNC Gaming Monitor with HDR is a solid choice for a gaming monitor. Actually, it’s a good choice for all-around desktop monitor needs. For my needs, it’s just the right size for my desktop set up. Not quite sure why, but I like the feel and view of this curved monitor set up compared to a previous curved monitor I had. The image is clear, smooth and easy to see. I really like the solid stand and the significant options for adjusting the height of the monitor. The tilt and swivel adjustments are, of course, helpful as well. I used it with my Acer gaming laptop and it was easy to connect and worked great. It took me a few moments to adjust to the bigger screen and faster refresh rate when gaming with the ASUS - TUF 27, it was that much of a noticeable improvement. As would be expected, it is also great when using it for normal computing tasks. For a 1080 monitor, with HDR, this provides an excellent image. A very nice addition to this product is that they included 3 high-quality cables for connecting the monitor to your computer. That was a great added bonus. Overall, this is a very good gaming (and all-round use) monitor for a great price.

Excellent budget gaming monitor...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good if not really good gaming monitor for the budget minded. The resolution is only 1080p which allows for great performance but then leaves some detail to look a little washed out in my opinion. If you look at the screen alone, you won't notice this but if you look at it next to a greater high end gaming or coding monitor then you can see the difference. It does have a great set of connectors and the controls are top notch when compared to other lower end gaming monitors. The brightness is good but again you will wish it was a little more brighter but bang for your buck it was pretty nice. The quality and packaging are really nice and it was extremely easy to put it together. I did like the ability to move the screen up and down and tilt for your preferences. I do like the size and feel it was nice enough that it leant itself to helping when doing home work and reducing all eye strain. The included cables are of great quality and make it useful for all home uses.

ASUS TUF 27" IPS LED FHD Gaming Monitor w/HDR
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I just received my ASUS TUF 27" IPS LED FHD G-SYNC compatible Gaming Monitor a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. Upon unboxing includes the following: * ASUS 27" IPS LED FHD Gaming Monitor * Stand Base and Tilt/Pivoting Arm * DisplayPort Cable * HDMI Cable * Power Cord * User Manual/Warranty Info Setup is pretty much straightforward, simply screw the base into the stand and that's it. The good thing about this monitor is that it van be wall mounted as well or used with a compatible mounting arm via the vesa connection on the back of the monitor. Also on the back is 2 HDMI ports, DisplayPort port, power adapter port, and a couple of USB ports. A headphone port is also featured on the back of the display. Though the monitor does not have a webcam, it does include integrated speakers. I connected this gaming monitor to both my ASUS Rog Strix Gaming Desktop as well as my M1 Mac Mini. I later tested out my Nintendo OLED Switch to it also. Each setup worked well with no major issues. Though sometimes the colors looked a bit washed out. The better connection was to my ASUS ROG Strix Gaming Desktop via the DisplayPort. Colors were also amazingly vibrant when connected to my Nintendo Switch. Gameplay on this monitor, no matter what was connected was amazing with zero lag. And the 240-280Hz refresh rate was like the icing on the cake; superb. I'd say at $280 you can't go wrong with this monitor. Nice curve for you to be take in a full view of of the game's surroundings. My only recommendation would be to add additional speakers.

ASUS at it again - best bang for the buck monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually go for larger screens, having not purchased or reviewed anything under ~34" in years. My daily driver (a workstation that doubles as a server) has two 49" ultra-wide curved (1800r, so less aggressive curvature) and I've gotten so accustomed to the extra real estate that when I saw this 27"er pop up for review I almost didn't bother with it. I'm VERY glad that I did, though. My gaming setup had a 34" flat panel, 120hz refresh and has been more than adequate for the last 2-3 years. I primarily play sports games (EAFC/FIFA, Madden) and driving sims (PCars, Forza, AC, RIDE, etc) so not a lot of shooters, but still a lot of fast movements and colors going on requiring an above average monitor to really make it all sing. This ASUS TUF is the slightly more curved design (1500r) which isn't as noticeable due to it only being 27", but the more time I've spent with it the more I like it. I've sat at a few of the 1000r screens and while it might be good for some styles or people, it is simply too much curve for my personal preference. The 1500r used here is a perfect balance and would likely be my choice going forward now that I am able to compare the 1800r on my 49" double stack to this 27" ASUS day-to-day. Ok, with that little bit out of the way the design itself it simple and well thought-out. I love that ASUS added a "compass" of sorts to the base so you can articulate/turn the mount arm or the screen itself and have a nice reference point. Many screens have allowed these ranges of motion in the past, but this is the first that I've used that has a way of referencing your current position. Simple but nice touch. There's no bright/shiny bits anywhere, just a splash of red around the aforementioned base and a little on the back. Also on the base mount and back panel is a "tech" etch design that ASUS has carried across most if not all of their TUF products. It is a little "young" and busy for my personal tastes, but the base is small enough and the back panel when facing a wall isn't really noticeable, so it isn't a huge aesthetic issue. I just happen to be someone who likes a stealthier design and isn't into a lot of attention grabbing design choices. This monitor strikes a great balance between those two worlds. Also, there's integrated RBG lighting on the rear which you don't even notice during the day while off, and provides a nice pop to those that enjoy such things. I do from time to time, so it's a nice option to have. Features-wise, browse through the specs and other reviews, you have everything you need to support a top-notch gaming build, with the one caveat being it only supports AMD FreeSync, not NVIDIA G-Sync (which applies to me). I'm sure there's a business choice behind this, but it is also why I'm deducting a star as I don't care about such things - offer both. That aside, 2 x HDMI, 1 x DP, and a USB 3.0 hub provide the usual input support while the button and "joystick" menu toggle are nicely placed and become intuitive rather quickly (something that can't be said for a lot of other monitors). So great job there, ASUS, it's a small thing but something I noticed within 5 minutes of messing around with all the settings within the screen itself. All in all, this is a great screen for any gamer that can overlook the lack of G-Sync support and doesn't want a MASSIVE display. The refresh rate and response time more than make up for it, in my opinion, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend who was in the market for a solid display that you likely won't have to worry about replacing for a few years.
