Customers are saying

Customers value the TUF Gaming 27" monitor for its overall performance, phenomenal refresh rate, and comfortable screen size with HDR and height adjustability. The curved screen, HDR support, competitive price, and state-of-the-art graphics are also appreciated. However, some customers have noted that the 1080p resolution can make the picture appear less sharp than desired. Overall, the monitor seems to offer a compelling experience for its price point.

Nov. 15 I bought the monitor after plenty of research and moving brands I previously had an Acer that lasted 4+ years. After reading the manual and assembling I enjoy the graphics and adjust the settings while playing games. I go to adjust the angle using one hand on top the monior and another on the bottom. On the area at the bottom above the plastic border there was a pop and the pixel screen broke from top to bottom and around 4 inches in width. I wish I would’ve never switched from Acer waste of 281 dollars.

When it comes to choosing a gaming monitor, Asus is always a solid choice. This curved 27 inch display is loaded with features such as HDR, G-Sync and FreeSync, has a 240HZ refresh rate, 1ms response time, and is all backed by a 3 year warranty in case anything were to happen to it. Overall, I found gaming on this monitor (and doing normal stuff like watching youtube, movies, etc.) to be quite nice. For the price of $279.99, it comes in at a fairly decent price given the specs, compared to other similar options. The image quality looked pretty good and the colors were fairly vibrant. I may end up using this monitor specifically for a racing sim set-up in the future as I did enjoy testing it out on games like American Truck Simulator and Project Cars 2. I will say the one only downside I found with this monitor was that 1080p on a 27 inch display does not look the best in some games or really in general. The pixels themselves are larger and so the image is not as smooth as I would like it to be. This problem was most noticeable to me when playing Rocket League. I really think 1440p would've been the perfect resolution for this monitor, but regardless it is still a very nice monitor and I think anyone that buys this monitor will be happy with their decision. I even tested it out by itself with my laptop and found it very nice to use as an additional monitor so even if you aren't buying it to game on and just want a nice curved monitor, it will be a very solid choice.

I have had to return two Open Box Excellent products the past two weeks! This screen was the first return and it was an absolute nightmare returning in store. I had to end up returning through mail. And to add to it, I ended up having to pay out of pocket for additonal packing materials at UPS. This item arrived loose in the box. Minimal packaging materials so you can guess how the acreen looked wgen i opened the box. As I was wrapping gifts today I made a concious decision to check the condition of the other Open Box Excellent item I ordered, Sony earbuds. I was shocked to open them and find earwax in and all over the earbuds. I have never had issues like this with Open Box Excellent items in the past. Never! So disappointed in the quality of these items I ordered.

Fast and TUF Budget Gaming Curved Monitor

I had been looking for awhile for a monitor for a secondary gaming PC that is in our family and I didn't want anything too big and more pricey and this came along and I thought I give it a try. Packaging wise, the box looks great, shows what the monitor looks like, to the specs and all. Upon opening it, it was packaged very well, and I was expecting just a HDMI cord and a power cord and that was it but they packed everything a person may need, included was a DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, Power adapter, Power cord, Quick start guide, USB 3.0 cable and a Warranty Card. The USB 3.0 Cable comes in handy if you want to use your monitor as a hub to plug in up to addtional 2 extra devices that utilize USB, perhaps to charge up a phone, use with headset/earbuds, charge up your handheld console, etc. I have had this monitor for about a week now and hands down, this is a really well solid built curved gaming monitor. Even for its built in speakers which I very well liked compared to other similiar monitors with built in speakers, it gets loud on these for a small quiet room setting. Also, this monitor has tilt, swivel, rotate, if you wanted too, you can set this monitor up in portrait mode, the stand is even height adjustable. Also if anyone is curious, it is VESA Mountable! With this being a 27 inch monitor, I find it fits my space perfectly, it has a 1500R curve and its 240 Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time is pretty dang fast. Other few things I like about it is it has AMD Adaptive Sync, HDR, the motion blur is excellent, didn't notice any screen tearing or smearing while testing some games out such as Starfield and even a simple game of Minecraft while I was mad rushing across the world. Overall, I am highly satisfied with what ASUS has put into this monitor and I would highly recommend anyone looking for these key specs of Curve, Integrated speakers, multiple input ports for PC, consoles, etc, USB Hub and Vesa Mounting or even Portrait mode while on a tight budget then this would be for you!

This ASUS - TUF 27" IPS LED FHD G-SYNC Gaming Monitor with HDR (DisplayPort, HDMI), plus USB ports, built in speakers, and loaded with features is a fantastic gaming monitor. It has the DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, and the USB cable included. The TUF Gaming Monitor by ASUS, has a great picture that clearly displays all the colors correctly. It has an Auto HDR mode too. One cool thing that I truly love is that the monitor can move in all sorts of directions. Up, Down, Side to Side, and it turns on the stand base too. It was up and running on my PC in less than 5 minutes. Thats taking it out of the box, putting the monitor onto the stand and screwing on the screw on the bottom, and plugging it all up. The display is curved, which I love. It makes for a better gaming experience. The speakers don’t sound bad either. You can also adjust the sound settings accordingly so that it’s PC, Headphones, Soundbar, and Mic In. The screen doesn’t flicker or lag when playing high graphics games at all. The blacks are black, the greys are grey, and the colors are very vibrant. There is also a Cinema mode too. I also hooked this up to my laptop and it was seamless. The buttons are on the right side of the back of the monitor. They are simple to use, and includes a tiny joystick like button that you can move in any direction, then push it to select. I highly recommend this gaming monitor.

    It's for gaming

The Asus Tuf gaming monitor is exactly what it advertises gaming. First, this thing came nicely packed, It was well foam padded all around. It is nicely built and the designs on the back look sweet. This is by far one of the easiest to set up monitors I have used. The stand was already attached to the monitor, all I had to do was to screw the base which can be tightened by hand. Adjusting the height, swiveling or tilting is pretty much effortless and smooth. This monitor is very sturdy. This is a 27 inch LED, 1080p with HDR curved monitor. It supports AMDFreesync, with 240hz refresh rate at 1ms. In the back it has several ports: two HDMI 2.0, one DP 1.2, two USB3, one USB type A and headphone jack. It also had built-in speakers. They are not the loudest but it has them. Also in the back there are 4 buttons for the menu and 1 for the power. So far I'm having a great experience gaming on this monitor. I connected it to my Alienware x17 with an RTX3070 and was able to get constant 100 FPS during COD. In some instances over 200 with a max of 233 FPS. With Exoprimal I was getting constant 70FPS with the No Limit FPS settings on. The visuals during gaming are great. This monitor produces vivid and bright colors. However, I couldn't get that same beautiful visual for regular computer use. Most of the presets are for gaming. There are two that I would say could be used for regular everyday normal use. Those presets were Cinema and Scenery. But for my taste I didn't like either one. The screen was either too dark and too sharp. I wish you could have the option to adjust all the settings within the presets but you can't. You're only allowed to adjust certain things. For example: I used the racing preset which I find to be more suitable for my taste and it has a smoother image. However, the images are a little darker and the colors are not as vivid. I can adjust the brightness but I'm not able to adjust the color saturation because it's locked. If you want to adjust all the colors settings manually you have to turn off the HDR within the Windows display settings. If you have the HDR feature on you have to download the Asus display widget to change the gaming presets I mentioned. The Asus display widget app has 6 different gaming presets: RPG, FPS, Cinema, Scenery, Racing, sRBG and MOBA. There's also additional gaming plus features you can use like FPS counters and different types of crosshair for shooter games and even a timer. Aside from that, overall this monitor performed great for gaming and multimedia. It is very well designed and has plenty of connectivity inputs. It supports some of the latest gaming technology such as high refresh rate, HDR and low response time. It is 27 inches which is not too big or too small. In the box you get the Monitor, DP cable, HDMI cable, power adapter and cord, USB3 cable and some manuals.

    ASUS Knows Gaming

ASUS knows gaming, and their commitment to delivering top-tier gaming hardware is evident in the ASUS TUF Monitor. I really like this monitor, which offers a gaming experience that's not only fast and beautiful but also highly adjustable and looks pretty hard-core. First off, let's talk accessories. ASUS has left no stone unturned in ensuring you have everything you need right out of the box. The package includes a highly adjustable stand, a power cable and block, a display port cable, an HDMI cable, and a USB 3.0 cable. The stand is a game-changer, allowing for a wide range of adjustments to achieve the perfect viewing angle. It can be raised and lowered several inches, tilted forward and back, the screen can even be rotated into portrait mode. It's a small touch, but one that goes a long way in enhancing the overall experience. But the heart of the matter is the display. This monitor boasts a 27-inch IPS LED panel with Full HD resolution, and the visuals are nothing short of stunning. ASUS's HDR support adds depth and richness to every gaming session, making in-game graphics come alive. The display is not only fast but also beautiful, thanks to the vibrant colors and wide viewing angles thanks to the IPS technology. The ASUS TUF Monitor comes with a bunch of gaming-specific options. The 'Shadow Boost' feature deserves special mention. It's a game-changer when dealing with dark scenes in games. It makes objects stand out, even in the darkest corners, revealing what might be lurking in the shadows. And then there's the 'GameVisual' feature, which, while useful, may not be to everyone's taste. It slightly tones down colors while highlighting essential elements like health bars in games. It's a feature worth exploring, especially for competitive gaming, and the convenience of a hotkey to toggle it on and off is a nice touch. The menus have so many options, you can fine-tune the screen for any gaming or video situation. There are even four levels of blue light filtering to help save your eyes. I have been living on level 2 of 4 because it seems like the best filtering without looking too yellow. The TUF monitor has built-in speakers, and they are... fine. I would not expect world-class sound from speakers in a monitor. They allow you to hear content. It's fine for most games I play but headphones sound much better, of course. YouTube videos are fine with the built-in speakers as well. In the world of gaming monitors, the ASUS TUF 27" IPS LED FHD G-SYNC Gaming Monitor with HDR stands tall, catering to both casual gamers and competitive enthusiasts.

I've been gaming on various monitors for over a decade, but upgrading to this ASUS TUF Gaming 27" monitor has been the single most impactful improvement to my entire setup. If you're on the fence, just go for it. The difference is truly night and day. The star of the show is the 240Hz refresh rate. The jump from my old 144Hz monitor, let alone a standard 60Hz, is staggering. The motion is so incredibly fluid and buttery-smooth that it feels like you're seeing the game in real-time for the first time. In fast-paced shooters like Valorant and Apex Legends, tracking fast-moving opponents is effortless, and my aim has noticeably improved because of it. Paired with the 1ms response time, there is absolutely zero ghosting or motion blur. My inputs feel instantaneous, which has given me a tangible competitive edge. The 27-inch curved screen is the perfect size to be immersive without being overwhelming, pulling you right into the action. I was initially hesitant about a 1080p resolution on a 27" screen, but it's the perfect match for the 240Hz panel. It allows my graphics card to consistently push the high frame rates needed to take full advantage of the speed, which is what this monitor is all about. The colors are vibrant, and FreeSync Premium works flawlessly to eliminate any screen tearing, creating a perfectly seamless experience. Finally, the build quality is fantastic. The "TUF" name isn't just for show. The stand is rock-solid, and the height adjustment is a lifesaver for ergonomics, preventing neck strain during long gaming sessions. It's a premium feature that makes a huge difference in comfort. Bottom line: If you're a gamer looking to get a real competitive advantage and an incredibly smooth, immersive experience, this is the monitor. ASUS has knocked it out of the park with this one. It’s an unbeatable value for the features you get. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I've been testing the 27-inch TUF Gaming VG27VQMY Curved Gaming Monitor for about a week, and I'm thoroughly impressed overall. Some of the features I like best are the curved and wide screen profile, excellent picture quality, great port selection, the inclusion of HDMI and DisplayPort cables, and the built-in speakers. Gaming performance was also excellent. The panel's color reproduction was excellent, and the picture is perfectly tuned for gaming out of the box. I was testing it using a 3060 graphics card, and no matter how fast-paced the game was, I never experienced any lag, stutter, dropped frames, or tearing. I easily got 160 frames per second with no issues. The curved panel also gave me a much more immersive feeling than my flat panels ever did. For general use such as browsing the web, reading emails, and watching videos, the monitor needed to be adjusted. The colors initially looked odd, the text was hard to read, and the images looked oversaturated. However, it was very easy to fix using the buttons and navigation nub on the back of the monitor. Once I tuned it to my liking, everything looked great. The only thing I think could have been better were the speakers. The sound they produced was acceptable, but the speakers lacked volume, depth, and bass. With that said, with the exception of the sound quality of the speakers, I am thoroughly impressed by this monitor and I do recommend it.

I have this monitor hooked up to my CyberPower PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with an NVIDIA RTX 3070 and also have my Nintendo Switch hooked up to it and so far I’m loving it. This is my first curved monitor and I wasn’t sure how I’d like it but personally now prefer it to a flat monitor, at least for gaming. The monitor has more of a warm tone at least mine does, but still produces a vibrant picture. This is subjective as some people like a warm tone and some like more of a cool tone, I’m in the warm tone camp. The monitor has a blue light filter setting that can be switched on and off. To much exposure to blue light is said to cause headaches and eye strain as well as other things so it’s nice to have. The monitor has one display port 1.2, two hdmi 2.0 ports and one USB-A 3.2. The 240hz refresh rate makes for smooth blur free gaming, especially when playing fast paced games like Valorant. Even though this is only a 1080 screen, it produces vibrant colors and deep blacks. If you’re looking for a good budget friendly monitor with a 240hz refresh rate and like curved screens, put this one on your list.

This Asus monitor is a pretty great value for what you’re getting. I intend for this to replace another 75Hz 1080p monitor at 14 inches. A few people told me that going up to 27 inches without a resolution increase can make an upgrade like this not worthwhile but I disagree. This TUF monitor is fairly sharp with good color reproduction. I didn’t aim this for production work (I have other monitors for that) but I can see that I could use this in a pinch if I needed a 4th monitor and need to match. In terms of brightness, it’s fairly average compared to other monitors I’ve used and seen at this price range, so I’m fairly satisfied. But what I’m really satisfied with is the refresh rate. I really didn’t’ think that 240Hz would make a difference coming from 75Hz and experiencing 165Hz, but it seems to make a huge difference when playing competitive games such as Counter Strike. I don’t get much tearing and I don’t experience much blur. I guess when you’ve lived with 75Hz then move to 240Hz, you get used to the slow latency. This monitor definitely improved my game. I tried it with Starfield and yeah, I don’t have a powerful enough computer to push it to its limits even at 1080 but it worked well and really surprised me as to the quality. 1080p gaming isn’t dead! One thing that is new for me is that I had to lower my settings to max out the monitor. You honestly don’t have to this in practice, but I have a pretty nice 6950XT so it just proves to me that higher rez gaming really isn’t here yet. I really wish they put a USB-C hub connection in the back instead of using the older connectors! USB-B 3.0 is so big, uncool, and last decade. My wife asked me why I was sighing so badly after looking at the back of the monitor. Yes, it’s 2023, so let’s get back to the future. I highly recommend this monitor for 1080P gaming. There’s not much to find wrong with the monitor. They hit all the things that matter with a good price to boot!

A Gamer's Delight: Asus TUF Gaming VG27VQM Monitor

    |
    Tech Insider Network Member
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Introduction: The world of gaming monitors is a fiercely competitive one, with countless options vying for gamers' attention. Enter the Asus TUF Gaming VG27VQM, a curved gaming monitor that promises a lot in terms of performance and immersion. After spending considerable time with this monitor, I'm ready to share my thoughts on what it gets right and where it falls short. Design and Build Quality: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Let's start with the design - the VG27VQM is undoubtedly a looker. Its curved 27-inch display, minimal bezels, and RGB lighting on the back make it an aesthetically pleasing addition to any gaming setup. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy stand and good overall construction. However, it's worth noting that the stand is quite large and may not fit on smaller desks. Display Performance: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The VG27VQM boasts a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, which is a dream come true for competitive gamers. The curve of the screen adds to the immersive gaming experience, making you feel like you're right in the action. Colors are vibrant, and thanks to its 1080p resolution, games look sharp and detailed. However, one of the shortcomings of this monitor is its VA panel. While it offers excellent contrast, it falls short in terms of viewing angles and color accuracy compared to IPS panels. This may not be a deal-breaker for most gamers, but content creators might find it lacking. HDR and Adaptive Sync: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) The VG27VQM supports HDR10, which is a nice addition for those who want a more dynamic visual experience. However, the HDR performance is somewhat underwhelming. Brightness levels don't quite reach the desired peak, and the overall HDR effect is not as impressive as on some other monitors. As for Adaptive Sync, it's a great feature for tearing-free gaming, but it's limited to AMD FreeSync. NVIDIA users won't be able to take advantage of G-Sync compatibility, which is a drawback for those with NVIDIA graphics cards. Connectivity: ★★★★☆ (4/5) In terms of connectivity, the VG27VQM offers a decent array of options. It includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to connect multiple devices simultaneously. There's also a USB 3.0 hub for convenience. User Experience: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The on-screen display (OSD) menu is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to customize settings to your liking. The included joystick controller on the back of the monitor is a thoughtful addition that simplifies navigation. One downside is the lack of built-in speakers, which means you'll need external audio solutions for sound. Also, the RGB lighting, while attractive, might not be everyone's cup of tea, and it can be distracting in a dark room. Conclusion: The Asus TUF Gaming VG27VQM is a strong contender in the gaming monitor market. Its high refresh rate, low response time, and immersive curved display make it a great choice for gamers. However, it's not without its drawbacks, including the limitations of the VA panel, underwhelming HDR, and the absence of G-Sync support for NVIDIA users. Overall, if you're primarily a gamer and can overlook these shortcomings, the VG27VQM is a solid choice. It offers an excellent gaming experience with an attractive design. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars, with room for improvement in certain areas. Pros:High refresh rate and low response time for smooth gaming.Immersive curved display.Sturdy build quality and appealing design.User-friendly OSD menu. Cons:VA panel limitations in viewing angles and color accuracy.HDR performance falls short of expectations.Limited to AMD FreeSync for Adaptive Sync.No built-in speakers.

This ASUS TUF Gaming 27" curved monitor exceeded my expectations. The 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make gaming incredibly smooth, and the FreeSync Premium support eliminates any screen tearing. The HDR support enhances visuals with deeper contrast, and the adjustable height stand adds to the ergonomic comfort. There are very few options in the 27” curved category at this quality, and this one stands out. Great value for performance—highly recommended for gamers!

I am a heavy gamer, including twitch games like COD/Destiny/Overwatch, but also use my main computer for work, which includes content creation, routine web browsing/correspondence, excel etc. As a twitch gamer, I am in LOVE with the speed of this monitor. BUT, you do need need to keep in mind of the resolution of this monitor, this is an 1080p monitor. There are pros and cons to this. The PRO is you do not need a very powerful graphics card to hit high fps (frame rates) to match the 240hz at this resolution, which is clearly what this monitor is designed for. I was able to manuever, respond to my mouse, etc. with basically instant clarity, without tearing, without halo's or blurring, very beautiful, competitive level monitor. As a content creator, colors, distortions matter to me. The geometry, the scaling, perfect. What bothered me, and it could just be my unique unit, was the colors appeared washed out slightly more than my Samsung Neo G9 or ASUS XG27UQ, slightly less bright/nits. It's beautiful, it's clear, but side by side there is definitely a difference and appears more washed/less contrast. I do appreciate the tool-less mounting of the mount to monitor, that was a nice touch. The monitor feels premium, well built/sturdy My conclusion is - this is a gamer monitor, mostly for competitive players. You can build a nice machine with a economically priced graphics card due to 1080p resolution, and have a very competitive/twitch friendly/tear-free experience. This is perfect for my daughter's gaming rig, running a Nvidia 3070 video card. But as far as faithful color reproduction, content creation, the fast screen rate of the monitor is overkill, and the less than faithful reproduction, this is not the monitor for that purpose.

This pc monitor is amazing! I wasnt sure how i would feel about the 1080p screen but between the price and preference definitely recommend this. Especially for competition gaming or budget builds. Amazing work ASUS!

Asus does really good monitors in my experience. For them to come out with what I would consider an entry level, curved, 1080p, 240hz monitor with other top tier gaming functions is a win for us consumers. Let's start with the size, 27 inches of IPS LED panel. It's a good size for anyone looking for a good entry or just limited on desk space. It's also unexpected to find that this monitor has built in speakers that actually sound decent. I'd expect with the savings in this monitor that you will still have a budget to opt for a headset for gaming but if money is tight the built in speakers are fine. For me the curved screen is a gimmick but there's something about it's overall design that just calls out "Asus gaming" when you see it in person. While playing PS5 and PC gaming, I loved using this monitor. I personally would opt for the bigger 31.5" version but if all you need is a fast screen then this is it. 240hz refresh rate, 1ms response time is the selling point after all. For all other uses I have opted for a 4/5 star because the picture quality falls short. I played around with the built in presets and even the windows display settings and there is a lack of true color representation. The images are also not as crisp as when you load up a game for some reason. Even changing the HDR options it seems like some degradation is there. I hope that maybe down the line there may be a firmware update to help with this small issue.

Great monitor , found out best settings for asus Overdrive is either 2 or 3. 5 will cause massive input lag that you will notice especially when playing top players.
