    31.5" + 165 Hz + HDR + 1440p = Gaming Bliss

After years of a “bigger is better” mentality, I’ve come to the conclusion that below 42", 1440p is the ideal resolution. I did a side-by-side comparison with this ASUS - TUF 31.5" at 165 Hz and a 48" 4K 120 Hz display, and to my eyes the difference in image detail is negligible. The 1440p resolution pairs beautifully with an RTX 3060 and delivers buttery smooth gameplay. On Baldur’s Gate 3, going from 4K to 1440p yielded about a 70% gain in frame rate. That’s huge! I saw similar increases on multiple titles. I realize it’s to be expected, but experiencing it firsthand really drove it home. Gaming performance is stellar, and this monitor is very pleasing to the eye. The 165 Hz refresh rate coupled with the 1 ms pixel response means zero motion blur. I enjoy the occasional FPS (COD), and the ASUS - TUF 31.5" effortlessly brings it all to life. Targets are easy to pick out and dispatch. Slower-paced titles (think Starfield or Baldur’s Gate 3) are a pleasure to explore on this HDR monitor with vibrant colors that really pop and superior contrast; things hiding in dark areas are easily discernible, and bright areas retain detail and clarity. Connectivity is adequate with 1 DisplayPort 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0 connectors (no HDMI 2.1/4K/120 Hz here). There is also a headphone jack. Cable management is accomplished via a passthrough in the stand. The monitor ships with a DisplayPort cable. Display height is fixed, but the display can be tilted through a broad range to meet your eyes. This adjustability is important because viewing angle is about the only place this monitor leaves anything to be desired. Off-angle viewing results in washed out colors and loss of contrast – typical of VA panels. If you game with someone looking over your shoulder, they’ll likely be underwhelmed. Image settings are easily accessed from buttons and a joystick up the lower right rear of the monitor, but it honestly looked great out of the box, and I only felt the need to play with black levels. I should mention that the ASUS - TUF 31.5" also excels at entertainment and productivity tasks. I confidently recommend the ASUS - TUF 31.5". It doesn’t disappoint.

There are a few things I look for when I want a monitor. What size is it and how is the refresh rate based on what I need it for. If I am working in my office and typing up documents and spreadsheets, I don't care about refresh rate. Even if you are watching short videos or using social media. You don't need that much. However, if you are gaming that is important. The Asus TUF 31.5" Freesync gaming monitor is just what you need to fulfill the aforementioned two requirements. The monitor is the size of some television screens. Although large, I decided to mount it on an arm style mount to give it a floating effect on my gaming station desk. It weighs about 15 pounds, but I don't like to use the monitor stands as I like to free up the desk space. This refresh rate for this is more than anything I've owned. Most of the TV's in my home are 120 Hz, as well as the monitors I have. I know there are other monitors out there and this is not new tech, but for me it is. The refresh rate is so fast there is absolutely no visible lag what so ever. I went and tried my version of a stress test to see if I could really see how good this monitor is and I was not disappointed. The colors are vivid and the black in the dark profile is I am not sure what you call it, but do you know how a monitor lags behind or images streak when the monitor cannot process things fast enough? Like if you have a 60Mz TV and you try and watch a 4K movie on it? It just will not work right and the image is choppy and at times glitchy if I am saying it correctly here. There are no issues like that with this monitor. It is smooth as silk. I have had multiple (and have multiple) Asus products and they do not miss. They make high end products for the consumer and I have never been disappointed yet. This monitor is the perfect addition to any gaming set up you have and it can handle what you are throwing at it and more. I would recommend this to anyone. Period.

    Big Screen, Big Game

Let me start off by saying I need to buy a bigger desk. I love my current 2 - 24 inch monitor setup, but I love this ASUS 31.5" TUF more. Size does matter. There were times where a screen this size would have been considered a large screen TV. But performance also matters. This gaming monitor stands out in both aspects. With the 170hz refresh rate and a 1 ms response rate this monitor is smooth and fast. The 2560 x 1440 (2k) resolution is also more than sufficient to provide you with an amazing gaming experience. On top of the eye opening performance specs, the versatility of this monitor also stands out. With a DisplayPort and 2 HDMI ports, this monitor can be used for more than gaming. I could see this monitor being a very valuable asset for a dorm is it could double as a television. Some gaming monitors do not come with speakers. Other gaming monitors come with less than adequate speakers. This monitor, however, was a pleasant surprise. The audio produced from this monitor it no replacement for a dedicated audio system. However if you only had a big enough of a budget to spend on a monitor, you could definitely get by for a while with the speakers included. Like most things, this monitor is not perfect. Out of the box the color was off. Not just "hmm...something looks a little off". The color was really terrible. I had to spend a solid 20 minutes adjusting the hues and cues to get colors I was used to. Also, this monitor is equipped with physical buttons on the back right side of the monitor. This is great. I am all for physical buttons as it makes life easier. However, any time I attempt to adjust the angle of this monitor, the buttons are exactly where I place my fingers to move the monitor. Ultimately one I get this monitor in its forever home, I really wont need to adjust it so that should be a non-issue. And if I only need to invest 20 or so minutes into getting the settings to where I like, that is a small price to pay for a monitor of this caliber. Overall, this is a great gaming monitor with the sized and specs. Although there is a bit of a hefty price tag attached, it is an investment that is well worth the money. If you want to up your game, up your monitor with this ASUS TUF LED monitor.

    Excellent Xbox Monitor

I’m not *really* a hardcore PC gamer, so why did I get a gaming monitor? I use a curved monitor for my Mac Mini but have a big desk and occasionally do a bit of gaming in my computer chair (Xbox Series X). I thought that it would be fun to try out a “real” gaming monitor with fast refresh rates and all the bells and whistles. My curved monitor does 90hz but if I’m being honest, I was never able to tell the difference between 60hz and 90hz when I changed the refresh rate in Mac display settings. First thing you’ll notice is the monitor is way bulkier than other monitors. The stand cable management is nice to keep things neat and there are (2) HDMI inputs and a Display Port input along with a headphone jack. The speakers are fine for me - not as tinny as monitor speakers used to be but good enough for my Gen X ears. As for the performance. Wow. I don’t generally buy expensive monitors because a pixel is a pixel, right? The colors, the motion, the overall look of Elden Ring blew me away. I don’t know how to explain it but even the dark world of the Lands Between looked more saturated and cleaner than on my cheap curved monitor. I’m a bit annoyed now because I don’t really want to play on my 85” TV anymore… I remember the first time I saw OLED. Seeing Xbox a good monitor was a moment like that.

I think I am in love! Seriously, I sit in front of a monitor all day. Actually, at least 3 monitors for work and the real estate on this Asus 31.5" is awe inspiring. I was using 3 Asus VG246 at just under 24" display for each. Now I have this 31.5" sitting between 2 of them and it looks sweet. For gaming, I am a fan of flight sims so I tested it out with EA's Star Wars™ Squadrons game. I felt immersed into the game itself, not as well as using my VR setup, but nice for a quick game. The brightness and ease on the eyes works at just about any lighting level that I was able to throw at it from ambient lighting. The control panel menu is intuitive and easy to navigate with the buttons on the back. I have tested with both the Displayport and HDMI cables and my eyes are not seeing any difference. A word on using it for work. I am a hybrid employee and I much prefer using this screen at home than the dual 27 inch monitors at work. Using the three monitors and the work laptop, I can have multiple apps open at once, spreadsheets and emails. And I still have room to see the background. After 8+ hours in front of this screen, my eyes are not fatigued and I have no problem staying at the desk to play some games.

Perfect for gaming and everyday use, the ASUS VG32AQAY1A is a fantastic, cost effective monitor for all your PC or console gaming needs. Right out of the box the picture looks incredible. A few clicks of the large and easy to use settings buttons on the back of monitor, and I switched the monitor's GameVisual mode to RPG and loaded up Baldur's Gate 3 on my gaming laptop that has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060 card. The resolution, HDR performance, and response time are all incredible. The black levels and contrast in shadowed areas are incredible compared to my other relatively new 27-inch monitor that is way more expensive. At times it feels like I'm playing a different game as this monitor handles the picture amazingly with super smooth motion. The noticeable dips in framerate are no longer apparent. I'm not sure why this monitor has speakers. I doubt anyone will use them, but if you are planning to, do not expect even decent sound. A few other notes: there is zero glare on this monitor, it gets very bright, and the stand is easy to attach and is not an eyesore. I cannot recommend this monitor enough for those looking for a solid flat gaming monitor.

For the price this was one of the better values, 32 inches is a little bigger than I thought coming from 27. Speakers aren't the greatest I'd give them a 7/10, better than nothing if u don't have speakers handy like I didn't but will order some.

The Asus TUF 32-inch gaming monitor is a high-quality monitor that is significantly cheaper compared to others in its quality range, it’s amazing for what the price is. I expected to get something of lower quality at this price point, but I can say for sure that this is a very high-end monitor at a very reasonable low price. The Asus TUF monitor has a 32-inch-high quality display that allowed me to see a decent amount of detail while gaming compared to the previous FHD (1080P) monitor I had. I can really see the quality of the games that I played on this Asus monitor, compared to my old main monitor it has a lot more quality wise and I plan on using this for my games mostly, at first with the dull color it was a bit hard to use for me but as I used it more for gaming I got used to the color and I can now see that giving it a chance was worth it. Im sure that there’s a way to make the color better if you tinker with the settings a bit, but for me I was unable to find something that fit my preference in color. The size of this monitor is genuinely too good for the price. The monitor combines everything a gamer needs all in one package, efficiency, quality, performance, and everything in between. With it’s built in AMD Free Sync Premium, it allows for a smoother feeling to your play as it eliminates input latency, screen tearing, and stuttering which for gamers means a lot in performance, especially with its nice 170hz nothing can beat it, you get high quality smooth picture and great performance, what else can you ask for. Even price wise it’s perfect. More expensive monitors don’t come with all the fancy stuff like AMD Free Sync, I’ve been personally using it for about a week now and I’ve been loving it, whether I’m watching videos or playing games it kept up its quality throughout, I haven't seen any screen tearing nor any jumps in frames. The packaging was very secure, and the cables were packaged very well, each in their own bag while the monitor itself was safely packaged with foam. It comes with a DisplayPort cable, power cable, and a stand. along with the tools needed to put it together, which is the usual for monitors but the way the stand it set up is super sturdy and the stand itself is really high quality, you can tell that it was not cheaply made, they made it easy to put together and assemble and you never once have to wonder it the monitor will fall off because I can tell you now that it isn’t coming off. The stand itself is sleek and very well made and the setting up for the monitor was very simple and easy to do, it came with a manual for setting up software-wise as well as a booklet for putting the monitor itself together. Everything was very easy to read and understand, the monitor is practically plug and play with how easy this was to put together. The DisplayPort cable that comes with the monitor allows for better connection than a normal HDMI cable so say goodbye to that input lag especially with Free Sync enabled whatever you click will show instantly, most new systems will mostly use DisplayPort too so it’s perfect whether you have a new or old system. I would recommend this to someone who plays video games and wants quality in their gameplay. It's perfect for staying immersed with the size, 170hz and quality. For someone just casually using this for work and general use, it works fine of course, the price is fair, the quality is extremely high, and you get what you pay for and more. This will become my main monitor for everyday use and gaming. It’s hard to find something with this quality for the amazing price it is listed at, I can say that this is a perfect all-around monitor for anyone. Pros: pixel-perfect quality, great size, perfect price, no screen tearing, perfectly packaged, booklets were easy to understand for setting up, sleek design, very well built, sturdy, smooth gameplay, no input lag, reputable company in general Cons: literally just the fact that the colors are a bit dull, no other complaints at all about this monitor.
