I have been a hardcore PC gamer for over a decade. Being the first laptop I’ve ever bought I am totally satisfied. Pros: 144hz display comes enabled and ready to go. Great frame rates in modern fps BRs, truly steps up to the plate with over 100fps on average. The temperatures stay relatively cool and consistent under load. Cons: Only 2 USB ports The display is very small. Making it difficult to see long range Battery life is lack luster. Keyboard will not register more than 4-5inputs

I got it fixed once because the hinges were coming apart, which was not covered by warranty because they said the "damage" was not covered. I have not dropped this laptop but the screws on the bottom fall out, the plastic holding the screen to the keyboard snap, and now I have a hanging screen that I would have to pay a few hundred to replace again. The battery also dies quickly.

The 144Hz with adaptive sync makes snapping to targets in game instinctive and natural. The onboard storage and memory are easy to upgrade compared to gaming laptop models with an online community to provide step by step instructions.

Since my MacBook could not handle the games I wanted to play. I have played games through Steam, EA and Xbox, they all work great! Battery holds fairly well too

Decent laptop but...

The 100% SSD renders it nearly silent when running. It's also very sturdy but lightweight. It was simple and quick to set up with in my working environment including Wi-Fi devices. Best of all, the price was right--extraordinary value. Only two slight drawbacks: 1. The screen isn't as bright as my large standalone monitor, but this could be just a setting in the laptop that I haven't looked into because I only use my large monitor. 2. The screen hinges could be a bit tighter to hold it more firmly at a tilted angle when desired. Other than that, this is the best laptop I've ever owned.

Well-Built Machine

The fans are quiet; the machine doesn't run hot; keyboard feels good for typing; touch pad is very responsive and quick; plenty of ports for my needs; the display is clear and bright. I am not a gamer. I purchased this machine to possibly use with ESRI's ArcGIS Pro, or other GIS software. I shopped around for quite a while for a laptop before I found this at the Best Buy Outlet. I am extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely purchase an ASUS machine again when the need arises.
