Always Buy the Warranty

Then it started giving me BSoD's that couldn't seem to be resolved. Within a year, I had to replace the keyboard, only for my IT guy to discover a metal plate inside had plastic "rivets" that essentially glued the internal layers together. Somehow I have more screws missing from the casing than I have holding it together. Overall, considering the money I spent, I expected more longevity from something labeled "Tuf." Very disappointed. If there was a lemon law for laptops, I would submit this for consideration.

I had no trouble running the games I played, which ranged from small indie titles to the more gigantic AAA games that need higher specs...while plugged in. I don't mind keeping my laptop plugged in, but I know that can be considered a downside and can also shorten the battery life. My main concern is that one day, the power button became extremely difficult to use, and then quickly became unusable. I would sit there trying to get it to turn on for sometimes up to an hour. I then found out it was a faulty power button/power cable. It seemed like it would be an easy fix until you find out to do that, you have to completely disassemble the laptop, including taking off the motherboard to access those parts, which is very high risk. Unfortunately, this happened right after the Warranty ended, so I am out of luck and will need to replace it. Do not buy this model; look up how easy it is to replace parts for a laptop you consider buying before buying it. Two years of use is abysmal.

In general, it will get the job done, but it's held back by a number of shortcomings. Should you purchase this laptop, my first suggestion is to uninstall a lot of the garbage that comes with the package. Many applications load at startup and run in the background, slowing the system down noticeably. My biggest complaint, however, is with the MediaTek MT7921 WLAN card. It constantly, and I mean constantly loses connection and has to be reset. This is by far the worst wireless performance I've seen in a laptop. There ought to have been a recall. And, finally, for a gaming laptop the drive is pretty small. You'll really want to upgrade that.

Worst purchase ever!!!!!

I haven't had this laptop for even a year yet, but the power button is malfunctioning. I have to press it about 100 times before it will turn on. Took it back to them, and i was told to either purchase geek squad protection or I could trade it in. I paid $1100 for this thing and they offered $120. Total ripoff. I will never make another big purchase like that with them. I was looking at a different laptop but the sales rep told me that this one was the better choice. Should have stuck with the cheaper one instead of this paper weight!!!!
