This Asus TUF Gaming F16 laptop is a very high performance laptop. It packs very fast processor and good RAM storage. In the same time, for professional gamers, this ASUS F16 might fall more on the mid to high range of gaming laptops. The Intel 14th HX Processor and the RTX 5060 GPU are a powerful combination for 1080 gaming laptop. It is not the best on screen resolution but it does well on performance. So, Gaming performance: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 is doing a great job working with the FHD+ display. Together with the Intel Core i7-14650HX and 32GB DDR5 RAM, this laptop is performing really well. It runs all programs and games in very short time. Beside gaming, I am using it with designing software that requires resources. This TUF is also equipped with 1TB SSD which is fast and spacious. Windows boots up in no time thanks to the higher data transfer speed. Good for gaming, the TUF is very well build. Asus claims Military-grade toughness which is believable (Certified MIL-STD). It would withstand drops (mild) vibration, humidity and some outdoor temperatures. In general, Asus promises good durability. Cooling system: This Asus TUF has a very effective cooling system. Obviously with the amount of copper used and the high flow fans. Adding to that the multiple exhaust vents. Connectivity wise, the TUF includes WIFI 6 , Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and BlueTooth. All tested to be working effectively fine. While it can be charged through the USB-C, Asus also included a high power charger with dedicated charging port. It overpass the USB-C power limitation. Keyboard and trackpad are great. The TUF has a desktop style keyboard. The RGB could be better. I am not big fan of gaming left keys having clear plastic. They are a bit bothering and distracting. On the other side, the travel of 1.7 mm is amazing and the response time is good enough for some fast reacting games. What not so great about it: Heavy! Still, it is expected for a gaming laptop to be heavy. This TUF is also heavy. Not very portable. With that, the battery is not expected to last very long. Keep it connected to charger while gaming. Fan Noise: Also in gaming laptops category! This TUF can get noisy when pushed to the limits. The air flow from the back vents is also very strong. The Screen resolution: Compared with some higher screens, this one can be a bit painful. Webcam is ok. Still on the lower resolution side but good enough for video conferences and some streaming. I would recommend buying this laptop if you are looking for high performance laptop that can be used to run demanding programs (design and simulations). It is not a good portable machine! But it does well for occasional portability. It looks nice, stylish and durable.

Power Performance Affordability TUF Gaming Laptop

PRODUCT ASUS - TUF GAMING F16 16" FHD+ 165HZ GAMING LAPTOP - INTEL CORE I7-14650HX - 32GB RAM - NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5060 - 1TB SSD - JAEGER GRAY MODEL: FX608JMR-F16.I75060 Power Performance Affordability TUF Gaming Laptop REVIEW I really like the TUF family of ASUS gaming laptops. For my needs (gaming and graphics), they strike the perfect balance between power, performance and affordability. With 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 165hz full HD(+) screen this system really rocks. At first, I was worried about the performance of a 5060 graphics card (just buying into hype of more is better), but the performance is spot on for where it needs to be, especially with DLSS and Ray Tracing. (see pics for specs and benchmarks) Due to a faster CPU and the upgraded graphics, it blows the doors off my older but same tier TUF gaming laptop with a 3060 GPU. (CPU Benchmark > 35K) For gaming, I like the RGB backlit keyboard, and the colored gaming keys. The keys are very responsive. Overall, so far, all the titles I’ve thrown at it work perfectly. What I like - Tons of ports - Ethernet (only 1Gbps) - Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) - USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) - Additional (free) NVME Slot available for expansion - Rock Solid build and feel. It really looks sharp - Great screen especially for indoors. - Good Amount of RAM right from the start and can be upgraded if needed - Numeric Keypad (small but plenty usable) The tiniest complaint I have is WiFi 6e instead of WiFi 7 but I can fix that with a very inexpensive upgrade if it becomes necessary. I do wish it had 2.5Gb or even 10Gb Ethernet for a little more future proofing, but again, this in minor and can be easily fixed with a USB dongle. I wish the keys had a little texture to them. They perform great, but they are very glossy and easy to have your fingers slip off the keys when typing. I assume most gamers (like me) will use their own keyboard. The touchpad is extremely sensitive (good) but slippery. The speed of the drive is VERY GOOD for a default laptop drive almost 7K Read and 6K write speeds. This thing “ROCKS” at this price point. SETUP The set up if straight forward. Once that is done, everything is ready to go. There is not any additional bloatware. Just attach your favorite accessories (gaming mouse, keyboard, etc) and you are good to go. I do suggest running windows update (several times) and then installing the latest graphics drivers before really kicking the tires. The Windows Setup may also install a critical BIOS update. OVERALL EXPERIENCE Really, I can’t find any faults (and usually I can find something to complain about). The laptop easily handled all games, graphics, and productivity software. This is probably the easiest and most straight forward laptop or PC build I’ve experienced in recent memory. (5-10 systems per year) The screens and graphics perform well and look great. The laptop is not maxed on specs compared to an ultimate and vastly more expensive gaming laptop, but it really hits that sweet spot of performance and value. The fans are powerful and do a great job of keeping everything cool The shape of the case keeps the laptop slightly elevated for cooling. Sitting on the lap for normal usage was not too bad. But I did not have all the setting maxed for high performance gaming either. I did have to go into the Windows-Personal Appearance-Lighting to turn off windows control of the keyboard lights and return control to ASUS apps to get the lights working again on the keyboard (after one of the Windows updates took it away). I like that there are dedicated volume and mic buttons not combined with other keys. MISC Benchmarks - Disk Write – 5665 - Disk Read – 6904 - Doom Eternal Ultra Nightmare Setting - 80-90 FPS (1920x1080) - CyberPunk 2077 – Ray Tracing Low – 60-80 FPS (1920x1080) RECOMMENDATION For home, work, play or school, nobody is going to be disappointed with the performance and value of the ASUS - TUF GAMING F16. I definitely would have no problem to recommend it for 90% of the users I know.

5 Stars for ASUS build and cooling improvements ASUS - TUF Gaming F16 16" FHD+ 165Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7-14650HX - 32GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 - 1TB SSD - Jaeger Gray High quality i7 DDR5 gaming laptop Upfront this unit has significant improvements over the last generation. Examples are; cooling, ease of hardware upgrades, keyboard layout and functionality, and improvements of MYASUS. Someone at ASUS has been reading the reviews and taking action. Very nice! 1. Aluminum body with unknown material of the back housing cover. However, the room between the case and the internal parts is deeper than the last generation. 2. Worked on first boot 3. 12 months parts and labor warranty 4. Complete printed manual with extended warranty options online 5. Disk Test Suite Average Results for MTFDKBA1T0QGN-1BN1AABGA Sequential Read 6,769 MBytes/Sec Sequential Write 5,302 MBytes/Sec Random Seek Read Write (IOPS 32KQD20) 3,171 MBytes/Sec IOPS 4KQD1 86 MBytes/Sec 6. 32GB DDR5 7. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU 8. Very nice heat shield for the M.2 drive. If you swap out drives, be sure to use the old heat shield housing and parts on your new drive. 9. Internal drive is fine the way it is! No upgrade needed. 10. External monitors worked on USB-C and HDMI outputs. 11. Heavy unit and a perfect desktop replacement. 12. The keyboard is fully lighted and easy to use. Setup: The first boot takes a long time. Be advised you will not see any life for a few minutes. Unit must be plugged in on the first boot. Be very patient. Be sure to plug it in on reboot after a hardware change. USB-C port next to the USB A port on the left side, where most of the inputs are located, supports charging the laptop. Recommend the built in LAN port for quicker setup. Updated and setup everything including an extra updates in Windows, Armory Crate, Intel suite, and MYASUS. Installed XBOX Ultimate and played several games (Fight Simulator 2024, Minecraft Bedrock, Warcraft 3, etc. Fans were on the highest speed in auto mode for the high-end games. Cooling has dramatically improved in this newly designed fan system. When completely finished setting the unit up, I updated the BIOS FW in MYASUS. Critical update for this unit. Windows update should catch all the rest. I installed two WD850X 2TB drives (boot drive and data drive). Cloning was done internally with WD ACRONIS. The Phillips head screws for back access panel were easy to find. If you are not an experienced hardware technician, you may want to skip this step. Fans came on at the right temperatures. Also, the keyboard FN keys allow you to manually adjust the speed as well as many other functions. WD cloning software did fine but would not recognize the drive in the USB-C External docking unit. Crucial Acronis may have worked but I did not know it was a Micron product internally! The extra M.2 slots vertical height is limited for heat sinks but more than the last version of this case. I used a heat sink transfer pad as I was worried about the height of my heat sink. If you have a very thin flat heat sink it will work. TBD Memory is fully upgradable. XBOX-X controller is the best bet for games. The i7 CPU showed its strength in gaming mode as I was surprised how quick it was. The mouse and keyboard were not optimal for gaming but worked fine with the lighted WASD keys. For additional cooling, I bought an elevated laptop stand and placed a fan under it for extremely intense games (decided it was easier to place 4 furniture pads under the raised feet of the laptop). Not needed for 95% of the games. Read the manual on how to use the FN keys. The manual is your friend. Also, the keys are clearly tagged as to functions. The sound worked perfectly on startup with no adjustments needed. The screen will not open past about 110ish degrees. Be very careful! I have included pictures up to my limit but may add some in comments at a later date if possible. • • Windows 11 Home Operating System Game, create, and maximize your productivity—Windows 11 Home is the one place for it all. I'm super impressed with the ASUS TUF Gaming F16 - especially its construction and pure performance. I’ve thrown some of the heftiest games in my collection at it, and it’s held its own remarkably well. Whether it’s online shooters where performance is critical, or visually heavy single-player titles that often feel limited on a laptop, the F16 consistently delivered a smooth and immersive experience. It genuinely feels like I'm not sacrificing performance just to have a mobile setup, which has been a welcome change. Beyond gaming, I've found the battery life to be quite good, particularly when I'm using it for less demanding tasks like streaming. It offers solid endurance that complements its portability. The inclusion of Thunderbolt ports supporting 4K external outputs is a real bonus, making it easy to connect to a high-resolution display. The laptop's construction and style make a strong statement. It feels tough and rugged without being overly cumbersome. I appreciate the thoughtful design where a portion extends past the screen; it cleverly accommodates the necessary fans and heatsinks without making the laptop look or feel bulky. I don't intend to test ASUS's military-grade strength claims, I feel confident having it in my backpack. The keyboard itself offers a pleasing tactile experience, and I was especially happy to see a full, dedicated number pad. It did take a little getting used to, as it shifts your finger orientation slightly, but the added flexibility for inputs is something I've come to really appreciate. ASUS also built in some smart hotkey functions that I actually use. Quick-switching the keyboard lighting is a neat touch, and the dedicated screen capture and recording options are incredibly convenient. There are also performance selections that let you quickly adjust fan speed and power modes. It's not without its minor points to consider. When the laptop is pushed into its performance mode the fan does get quite loud. This is to be expected with high-powered gaming hardware, but it’s something to be aware of. Additionally, there’s a dedicated key on the keyboard for the ASUS Armory Crate configuration software. While some users might find this useful, I personally don't see the need for a dedicated hardware button for what is essentially a settings menu. Pretty minor quibbles for what is otherwise a really great machine.

I am a long-time ASUS fan. Over the years, I have enjoyed owning and using ASUS' cutting-edge motherboards, incredible high-end displays, high-performance WIFI routers, and their innovative, well-designed and well-built laptops. My new ASUS TUF laptop addition, with its finely engineered balance between exceptional component performance specifications and relative affordability does not disappoint. The ASUS TUF Gaming F16 16" Gaming Laptop, Model # FX608JMR-F16.I75060, boasts the latest 14th Generation 16 Core, 24 Threads @ 2.2GHz to 5.2GHz (Boost) Intel Core i7-14650HX CPU, 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM (expandable to 64GB), an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 SDRAM, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD (with an open slot for an additional M.2 SSD). This TUF laptop has a smooth, 165Hz refresh rate, a fast 3ms response rate, an IPS display at 1920 x 1200 Full HD+ with adequate 300 nits brightness and an excellent 100% Standard RGB Color Gamut. It has a generous amount and array of ports including a 2.1 HDMI port, a 10Gbps 3.2 Type C/DisplayPort/Power Delivery Combo port, one Thunderbolt 4 port (type C), two 3.2 USB Type A ports, a LAN port, a DC-in Power Input port, and a headphone jack. Put these features together with color backlit key lighting, an IR and a 1080p camera, a built-in mic, a numeric keypad, an excellent advanced cooling system, Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, Bluetooth and WIFI 6e AX, 64-bit Win11 Home, and Copilot on Windows AI, packaged in a handsome and rugged Military Grade MIL-STD-810H housing and you have a fantastic, state-of-the-art gaming machine that plays fast and hard, but smoothly with some updates and some fine-tuning. I find the ASUS - TUF Gaming F16 16" FHD+ 165Hz Gaming Laptop a bargain for the performance.

Unboxing: This gaming laptop arrived well packed in an an eco friendly laptop shipping box. It's notable the that the "Jaeger Gray" - is a VERY dark gray - the images online are an accurate representation of the color. After unpacking and setting up on my desk, I proceeded to login to Windows 11 and allowed everything to update. I installed my favorite applications, steam and a dozen of my favorite games to make sure everything is working as expected. The Gen14 Intel CPU, Tons of memory and fast wireless made short work of downloading and installing a few hundred gigs of content. Overall Use: I upgraded from an 11th Generation Intel power laptop with a Nvidia 3070 GPU. This Asus runs circles around my older laptop in every way. The Display is better - The high refresh rates combined with high frame rates make everything unbelievably smooth. The combination of faster memory and CPU blazes through intensive tasks including video editing and building in visual studio. Opening lighter applications like chrome and office apps feels instantaneous. Gaming: The Nvidia 5060 Mobile GPU is fast. I play a lot of 2+ year old games. Doom Ultra, Cyberpunk 2077, Forza etc... These all run in ultra settings mode or equivalent and are absolutely smooth. I'm able to run every title including the latest Doom ( The Dark Ages ) at ultra settings both on the internal panel and when connected to an ultrawide 4k monitor. I'm looking forward to now being able to run the latest games ! Build Quality and Aesthetics: This laptop feels "solid" - once you get over the feel of the finish. That's the best way I can say it. The screen has some form of metal backing plate .The main body has no flex in it when typing. With the lid closed and ready to travel it fully supports itself when shoved into a backpack. The keyboard spacing is standard and the touchpad is surprisingly good. The left side neatly contains all of the ports that matter ( Charging, USB-C, etc... ). The rear is all exit airflow. The right side has two legacy USB ports for your old USB stuff. It's a clean setup and I especially appreciate the large but not bulky 240W AC adaptor. This is the first full size gaming laptop I have owned where the full power AC adaptor is easily portable. Upgrading / Adding an additional hard drive: Asus took cleaning and serviceability seriously in this design - the bottom cover is not difficult to remove to add an additional hard drive. Remove the screws and gently pry one side to "pop" it out of place. This model has two drive slots and does support adding a second NVME drive for bulk storage and content. This is also convenient to gently clean out the fans and heatsinks periodically. What I love: Jaw dropping framerates in every game I have played 240W AC Adaptor is compact and flat / Actually portable ! Fully recyclable packaging ! Room for improvement: A USB-C port on the right side vs the two legacy ports would be a nice touch.

From the moment you pick up the Asus TUF, the first thing you'll notice is its solid build quality, which also means it carries a bit of weight. This model features a 16-inch display, an Intel i7 2.2GHz processor, 32GB of RAM, an Nvidia RTX 5060 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 1TB SSD. The keyboard is RGB backlit and fully customizable through the included Asus Armoury Crate software .What I found interesting was how they made the WASD keys easy to identify. When the backlight is on, the keys appear brighter than the others, and when it's off, the bold white lettering still makes them stand out clearly. On other gaming devices I’ve used, you can change the color of the WASD keys to help identify them, but with this design, they stand out immediately regardless if they are backlit or not. The trackpad is smooth and highly responsive, while the keys offer good tactile feedback and include a full number pad. The screen is a 1080p Full HD panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support. It delivers vivid colors and decent brightness, though I’ve seen brighter displays in other models. The speakers are acceptable, though slightly underwhelming. Although the sounds definitely change when using a headset that supports Hi-Res audio. That said, the spatial audio is noticeable with the regular speakers and adds to the experience. As for connectivity, the laptop includes three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports (one of which supports Thunderbolt), one HDMI 2.1 port, Ethernet connector and a headphone jack. It also Supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. As a first-person shooter fan, I tested the system with Call of Duty. Most settings were maxed out on Ultra, with a few on High. The laptop handled everything smoothly, and overall system performance was excellent with fast software launches. However, launching COD took about three minutes, which seemed unusual given the specs. After the initial launch, restarts and re-launches were much faster. During gameplay, the laptop stayed relatively cool and the fans remained quiet, though the power adapter did get noticeably warm. Battery life, as expected for a gaming laptop, is limited. Although it has a 90W battery during the gaming session the battery drained in just over an hour before I needed to plug it in. That was not even in performance mode. Overall, the Asus TUF ROG is a powerful and well-built gaming laptop that delivers excellent performance and thoughtful design features. With high end specs at a more affordable price, it competes with some premium models. While the built-in screen isn’t the most impressive, connecting it to a high-resolution monitor unlocks its full potential as a powerful gaming machine. The 16 inch display also makes it portable enough for gaming on the go. In the box, you’ll get the laptop, power adapter, and user manuals.

I really like this unit! You can check all the specifications online but it checks all the boxes! Intel i7, RTX 5060, 32GB RAM, 16" screen, 1TB storage, So lets get into it. Packaging was the normal flip box - laptop as in white cloth cover - with power supply below. Unboxing was simple. I really like the layout of this keyboard. the full number pad on a laptop is a must for me as i do utilize it work. Large mouse pad as expected. I really like the additional volume buttons on the top for quick access. I did struggle finding the Delete key! ahaha over all KBD did feel good and solid. Not mechanical but still had a nice thud sound on solid press. Screen is nice and comes in at 16" FHD with 165Hz refresh - not much better for gaming. Screen sits flush against the body when closed an no exposed hindges. In some other models of past, ive seen the screen go over the edge, not on this guy! Top is super durable, i tried a few things to scratch and nothing short of intential digging would cause any damage. Screen is encased in a metal type finish and body is maybe a magnesiem shell. This laptop is called TUF for a reason having passed MIL-STD-810H tests. Performance was top notch. I had no lag on anything and it handled gaming like butta! Pure performance from this rig. Cooling was great as well - full length cooling across the back. Never felt like it was about to power up the fans and take flight. overall very quiet unit Overall a very solid unit and one i would recommend. I only had few complaints. 1. That metalic screen top has tendencay to keep fingerprint smudges. So i was OCD on keeping it clean 2. Power supply is huge! and had a specific port but its putting out 280W. I checked and the port isn't an issue but getting another PS was only 180W

I don't know what alien they have strapped to a desk over there in their lab at Asus but I like their style. The laptop looks great and is pretty light. They were nice enough to have 3 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C with one of those C ports are Thunderbolt 4. An honest to goodness 3.5mm headphone jack and a LAN port. The HDMI port will come in handy as well. I am not a keyboard junkie so my opinion is that it works the way it's supposed to. I do like that they highlighted the W,A,S,D keys and it has a number pad on the side and it's backlit (I have no idea why this feature isn't standard at this point on any laptop keyboard). The 14th Gen i7 14650HX 16 Core - 24 Thread Processor is pretty nice piece of hardware. Handles all of my day to day tasks without skipping a beat and I don't hear the fans unless I am gaming and then they sound like a jet engine but I have a cooling pad beneath it and my headphones on so it really doesn't bother me. NVIDIA RTX5060 and 1TB NVMe drive and 32GB of DDR5 ram are great for this little gamer.

Excellent value. The i7-14650HX + RTX 5060 fly in games and heavy apps; 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD keep everything snappy. The 16″ FHD+ 165 Hz display is super smooth. TUF build feels solid and the keyboard is comfortable. Notes: fans get audible under load and battery is okay, not great. Overall, a powerful, well-balanced laptop for the price

I won’t bury the lead, if you need a BEAST of as laptop that will play any game you want, guide you through whatever project you’re working on with built in AI assistant, but still have enough battery to let you handle your productivity work load during a layover at the airport then Asus has you covered. With their TUF line the focus is on flashy gaming with a side order of durability, built with an aluminum lid and a reinforced chassis to ensure it can handle drops, rough handling, and temperature extremes most laptops aren’t tested under. I actually used the Co-Pilot AI built in to learn that ASUS did drop tests of about 3 feet, temperature tests between -33 degrees celsius and 49 degrees celsius, with vibration testing up to 500Hz. Basically it's a tough laptop with a battery that averages around 4 hours on normal settings that can play games, build spreadsheets, tell you jokes, teach you how to edit photos, and any other normal laptop activities like shopping online or liking your friends' Instagram stories. Under the hood TUF F16 has an i7-14650HX that starts at 2.2Ghz, 32gb of RAM (expandable to 64gb), an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop card with 10gb of dedicated Video RAM, two USB-C ports, 3 USB-A ports, an ethernet port, and HDMI port, and a headphone jack (if that’s still important for you in a world of bluetooth). The included m.2 ssd gives you about 850gb of storage but there’s an extra port for a 2280 m.2 ssd to bump that capacity up. If you like bells and whistles the keyboard is also backlit with customizable RGB LED lighting and effects that make the keys backlights pulse. The WASD keys are translucent to stand out, which is probably unnecessary but cool none the less. I have big hands so the keyboard feels a little cramped as I type this on my lap in the living room, your mileage will obviously vary and it's not insanely small, just compact. If you aren’t doing anything too demanding the laptop seems capable of running 5-6 hours by putting it on pretty severe battery saving modes but if you play games and/or have your brightness up higher then it may dip closer to around 4 hours. Co-Pilot is built in but you still need a subscription for things like the Image Creator feature in Paint, that’s pretty standard but still worth calling out I feel. I was able to run GTA5 and Baldur’s Gate 3 pretty smoothly and I double checked a few other games on CanIRunIt (a website that gives you an idea what you can or can’t play given your hardware setup and how to improve your setup in order to play what you can’t already). Basically everything I asked if I could run it was saying I could run on maximum settings or close to it, so this is a seriously powerful gaming laptop at a fraction of the weight that something like an Alienware would weigh to do the same things (TUF F16 is just under 5lbs!). Really, any of my complaints would have nothing to do with the Asus setup for this laptop and everything to do with the basic Windows experience (hours of updates upon first bootup, that extra fee for Image Creator, Edge browser being pushed hard, etc.). This is a laptop for anyone from the basic spreadsheet warrior (although you’ll probably be able to find something with LESS power for less money) to the pro gamer looking for a lightweight portable option to supplement their main gaming desktop. I highly recommend any of the TUF line but the Asus TUF F16 in particular left me with nothing more I could want besides an easier setup from Microsoft (and I won’t dock Asus any points for that).

TUF Gaming F16, 5060 Nvidia 32 gig of ram. I was looking for a computer for Revit - CAD use and this is the sweet spot. Good resolution on the display, but not more than needed; Bright enough for my uses; High end CPU: 5060 graphics which should be more than enough; lots of connectivity including rj45; keyboard includes number pad. The thing I don't like, (since I am not a gamer) is the keyboard layout and highlighted WASD keys. The layout is a bit tight, and the highlighted key are distracting for someone like me that still needs to look at the keyboard from time to time. I have not been able to find a way for Armory Crate to control just the WASD key brightness. Keyboard feel is fine. Touchpad is big enough and works ok, but most of the time I will be using a mouse. Very little bloatware. Weight is ok, not light, but not overly heavy. Bestbuy purchasers should note that you can only get an extended warrantee from Bestbuy. They have partnered with ASUS to get good pricing in return for ASUS not selling their extended warrantee direct to consumers.

It's good, but not amazing. If you can get it on sale the value is ~fine. Game specific numbers below. Pros: Decent amount of muscle for a 1080p laptop. The screen is decent and 160hz is fine for most games, but isn't super bright. Comes with 32GB of ram and a terabyte of storage, with a second slot for another storage drive. Stays cool even under full load if you let the fans do their job. Cons: Asus software. Gets LOUD in turbo mode. I can (barely) hear them through my Bose QuietComfort headphones, but this is expected from a gaming laptop. Asus software. Yes, it's bad enough to say twice. The bloat is bad, but you can get rid of some of it. The battery life is expectedly bad when gaming, but also not great when just browsing or watching videos. Expect ~4 hours. I'm pretty happy with this laptop. I believe most laptops with a 5060 should cost clear under $1000, but with the Asus tax that is about what I think it's worth and the value here is my main gripe. You can find 4070 laptops for $1000 and have better support for old games and better performance. Specific games I've tested: Helldivers 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, Baldur's Gate 3. Helldivers 2 is a great experience. DLSS Quality gets me 100-120 fps on high settings. BG3 is also great. Loads fast and runs smooth at ~80 fps high settings. Monster Hunter Wilds is... Problematic. The game easily overruns the VRAM on high settings and turns into a 20-30 fps stuttery mess. Once you tweak some settings to get under 8GB the game runs fine. I could get over 100 fps with DLSS Quality mode and 2x frame gen. I strongly recommend against 4x frame gen as the ghosting and smearing are bad, and the input lag is noticeable worse. Overall, I think this is a fine product (if overpriced). Good size, good build quality. Good port selection. Would often recommend.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F16 is a sleek and powerful gaming laptop that offers exceptional performance for both gaming and productivity. Powered by the Intel Core i7-14650HX processor and 32GB of RAM, it handles demanding tasks with ease. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics deliver smooth, immersive visuals, making it perfect for modern gaming titles at high settings. The 16" FHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth gameplay and vibrant visuals. With a 1TB SSD, loading times are quick, and there's plenty of storage for games and media. It's a gaming laptop so battery life is pretty bad. But that is 100% expected.

I recently purchased the Asus gaming notebook and I am very satisfied with its performance. The build quality feels premium, and the design is sleek yet sturdy. Games run smoothly thanks to the powerful graphics card and fast processor, even on high settings. The display offers vibrant colors and a high refresh rate, which really enhances the gaming experience. The cooling system works efficiently, keeping the laptop from overheating during long sessions. Battery life is decent for a gaming notebook, and the keyboard is comfortable for both gaming and daily use. Overall, this laptop provides excellent value for the price and is a great choice for gamers.

*BEFORE YOU START GAMING OR DOING ANYTHING ELSE ON THE LAPTOP - update all your drivers and install the latest BIOS which can be done easily through the MyAsus app or in the windows update section. Also shoutout to ASUS! I had some issues with my initial review unit, but they stepped up and helped me out in a very timely manner. You can definitely feel confident going with them! Now onto the F16 (2025) Gaming laptop - This laptop roughly falls into the mid-range price bracket of gaming laptops and it does a good job of balancing all the different specifications. It’s well-rounded and I don’t think there are many changes I’d personally make if I was designing it. PERFORMANCE: First off some benchmark scores/temperatures - 3DMark Time Spy - 11630 Geekbench 6 - 2669 SINGLE-CORE / 15837 MULTI-CORE GPU temp - 70-75C CPU temp - 65-70C (few spikes here and there but nothing massive) Featuring a i7-14650HX, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a RTX 5060 this gaming laptop can pretty much handle any game at Full HD+ - I mainly played eSport titles like CS2 and also threw in some of my favorite racing games like Forza Horizon 5. I did not have to tweak any graphic settings to get an enjoyable experience, but this also is in part because of the display only being Full HD+ (1920x1200) the 8GB of VRAM on the GPU could be a potential problem in the future, but for now I found it to be plenty. The laptop also stays fairly quiet and cool even when you load up the most intensive benchmarks! Gone are the days of these things being a hot loud mess. CONNECTIVITY: This thing is loaded with ports which are nice to see - 2 x USB-C 3.2, 3 x USB-A 3.2, Thunderbolt, HDMI, Charging port, and a headphone jack. You can also charge the laptop with USB-C though in most cases I’d recommend just using the proprietary charger for full performance. You could also hook this up to an external monitor and use it as a desktop PC if you wish. DISPLAY: Large at 16” this LCD display is honestly just average and seems to be the one area ASUS cut corners in. It’s not very bright (300 nits) and at 165Hz is a bit underwhelming especially when we are starting to see 240 become more of a standard. Still it's plenty good for any casual video streaming or gaming as long as you aren’t hitting super high FPS in eSport titles. BATTERY LIFE: By default the laptop will go into “Silent mode” and lower the refresh rate to 60Hz when running on battery. This will be good enough for any light gaming, browsing, or watching videos. I got about 7-8 hours of screen-on-time doing exactly that. Respectable result especially for a gaming laptop, and you can change the settings if you want some more performance in exchange for battery life. KEYBOARD: Pretty good keyboard for a laptop with minimal travel and full RGB (the stock photos only show orange, but I can assure you its RGB :)) It’s also full size with an extra row for volume and accessing the armory crate software. SPEAKERS: Speakers are rather average and only get decently loud. They also blast from the bottom edges, so you don’t get that audio blasting in your face sadly. I mostly used a headset so this wasn’t a big deal to me. STORAGE: The 1TB SSD is plenty and can be easily expanded (I use an external USB-C one) . If this laptop cost any more I would have expected at least 2TBs though. BUILD QUALITY: This thing is tough TUF ;p The hinge is VERY strong and sturdy and feels like it will always work as it should. There is also minimal deck flexing though it's mostly when you’re pushing on the top. PROS: * Good choice of CPU/GPU * 32GB of RAM * Good temps * Lots of ports * Amazing build quality CONS: * Display could have been better

recently spent a week using a mid‑to‑high end gaming laptop, and overall it’s quite impressive. The cooling system kicks in aggressively under heavy load, but it keeps temperatures somewhat manageable — though you can hear the fans. The display is sharp with a high refresh rate (144‑240Hz), making motion in fast‑paced games smooth and pleasing. The keyboard is responsive, with nice key travel and feedback — good for long gaming sessions.
