Robust GPU for the price point

So you're considering upgrading your GPU. There's plenty of options around, but gosh darn, those prices are steep! Is a modern GPU really worth the expense? Well, it depends... If you're the average computer user and like to watch movies or do some social media posting, with occasional email and web browsing, then no. This GPU is severely overkill. It would be overpriced and you would never utilize the immense list of features and capabilities it offers. Could be more beneficial investing in an Intel GPU if you really want to upgrade your setup and stay ahead of the obsolescence avalanche. If you're a gamer, however - or perhaps a video editor, or 3D CGI creator, or Videographer content creator, then this GPU, the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX4080 16GB might be a good fit for you. Yes, it's expensive, but it's a powerful and vastly capable card. As someone who does photo/video/audio restoration and conversion, this GPU runs major circles around my previous GPU (and RTX2060). I can render photo enhancements almost instantly, and render videos in a fraction of the time (especially using nVidia's increasingly popular AV1 codec - exclusive to the 4000 series RTX GPUs). And gaming? Fuggedaboudit...... I can max out every setting in Cyberpunk 2077 @ 4K resolution and this thing eats it up like candy - even in the most graphically demanding areas of the game - and still gets at least 90-100+fps. Same with every other game I've thrown at it so far (not a small list of RTX games, either). Game after game after game, and this GPU never balks. It just powers through each one with flying colors. So why not get the RTX4070? None of the 4070 models really push the limits like the 4080. Are they not worth it? By no means - the 4070 cards are also capable GPUs in their own right. They just don't do quite enough, in my opinion, to justify the cost. What about the RTX4090? Quite simply because they don't produce enough power over the 4080 to justify their cost, either. And they suck significantly more power than the 4080 - without significant differences in capabilities. Simply put, the RTX 4080 - specifically the ASUS TUF Gaming 16GB GPU hits ALL the sweet spots for me. It's just the finest GPU I've ever had the pleasure of owning and using. And if you're a content creator like me, your revenue should easily justify the cost of this beast GPU, considering the amount of time you'll same rendering material. Do I recommend this GPU? 100%. Buy one before they're all gone - and the prices spike again. (Also, I do not work for nor am I sponsored by any company. This is my own personal, honest opinion on this product, as a small business owner and content creator.) Hope the info helps! Happy shopping!

"Beast of a GPU, Perfect for Hardcore Gamers!"

The ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is an absolute powerhouse. Performance-wise, this GPU can handle anything you throw at it, from AAA games to demanding creative workflows. The 16GB of GDDR6X memory ensures buttery smooth 4K gaming with ray tracing enabled, and overclocking is a breeze thanks to its robust cooling system. The build quality is premium, with the TUF series known for its durability. Its triple-fan cooling system keeps temperatures in check even under heavy load, though the card is on the larger side, so make sure your case can fit it. It’s quiet during normal operation and only ramps up under heavy gaming sessions. For power, I highly recommend pairing it with a 1000W PSU to ensure stable performance, especially if you plan to overclock or have other high-power components. Overall, this is an exceptional choice for gamers and creators who need top-tier performance. Highly recommended!

This card has plenty of processing power to push pixels for anything up to a 4k monitor, without the extraordinary electrical power demands of a 4090 card. I'm currently running a 2k, fast 34" widescreen, and this GPU gives me plenty fast refresh rates (over 100 FPS) on AAA games. Not a lot of fancy RGB lights on this card, but it works well. One note, after installation, Windows had the default screen refresh rate set at 64 Hz, so I had to go into the settings and manually set it to the top speed of my monitor at 165 Hz. Depending on the supply and price situation of the 50xx series cards and how much they reduce the price of these cards, this may be a sweet spot in a few weeks or months.

Great card, needs to come with power angle adapter

Absolute beast of a card. I'm not a gamer; I just keep playing Halo Infinite over and over on my 4k 60hrz monitor. Coming from the 4070--there are dramatic improvements. Card is quiet and I love the small amount of neon bling they added. Four stars because it should come standard with an angle adapter for the power cable. Without it, the power cable adds another three inches to the width of a card. I have the LIAM LI EVO Dynamic, which is a very wide case, and I can no longer use the side panel. So, I'm waiting for an angle adapter to arrive. When I purchased, I never thought of the width of the card, only the length, which it easily fits lengthwise. Very happy with the purchase, and if you can get these at MSRP, then I'm happy with the move from the 4070 to 4080 Super OC.

Works great! It's way bigger than a 3080 (see picture comparison), I had to get a spacer kit to bump out the side of my Lian Li 011D case so the power connection would fit. I also ordered a 90 degree power adapter, the included one is just straight and would have required even more space. Again, these cards are massive, be prepared to make some case modifications and the 90 degree power adapter is almost a must.

Call of duty, Fortnight, War Thunder: at max graphics setting, 4K resolution 144 FPS is pretty easy to get. At 1440 or 1080 it is ridiculously OP, crushing any games top graphics settings, even those with the 244 refresh monitors. There is no question that this is a powerhouse of graphic performance, however it does have some cons. The first of which being price. Even with the RTX 5000 series right around the corner and Black Friday/Cyber Monday, this card is still over a grand. At that price there are other options that aren't quite as powerful, but easily good enough, particularly if you game at 1440 resolution. Also, Ray Tracing is problematic. At 4K I can NOT run Ray Tracing and maintain 144 frames at max graphics on any of the games I listed. Reducing graphic settings enough with Ray Tracing to get the frames back reducing visual quality to a point not worth it. As a result, I never have it one, which is a bit disappointing. However, again, if you are not trying to push 4k then this card crushes it all even with RT.

1st time building a PC and picked this for my GPU. Works well, and temps seem to be very good even when stress tested/benchmarked. It is definitely a big piece of hardware, and I would make sure you have a case that can fit it. I bought a Lian Li Lancool III case, and it made everything quite easy to assemble and work in. I don't care much for having a lot of random rgb lights everywhere, so having just the logo on the side illuminate was perfect for me.

Beast of a card. Way better performance than the 2080ti it replaced. Really hate the new connector and the space needed just for it. Could not put the side panel without modifying it to get it to fit with the cable sticking out side as it does. Best if you can mount the card vertically because that location for the connector wont fit most cases horizontally.
