supposedly an easy set up, but not as easy as was suggested. have not used it much, as the tax CD I tried was not cooperative at all. The CD was brand new!

Disappointed CD/DVD drive

Does not support my laptop. The attempt to try what I could did not work. On the same day my boyfriend bought a new laptop and a DVD drive but different brand name and his was the same result.
We do understand your disappointment with this optical disc driver and the inconvenience this may have caused if it is not working. This disc drive is compatible with Windows and Mac OS. To work properly, ensure you are using a compatible and working USB cable, and the USB port on your laptop is working properly. Additionally, ensure Windows, the chipset and USB drivers for your laptop are up to date.

Setup Sucked. It took several tries to finger out what was wrong.
Mine came with the wrong country code or something. After 7 or 8 tries a message came up saying there was a problem with some code. It then asked if I wanted to change the code. I said yes.
After the code was changed, the drive seemed to work fine.
We are terribly sorry for the issue your experience and for any inconvenience this has caused you. ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and final inspections for both hardware and software before we send them out to the stores worldwide. ASUS provides a warranty for the unit in order to fix or repair any isolated factory escape defect. This information will be passed on to our development team. For whatever reason, it 'skips'. I try to play CDs and DVDS and there is a lot of skipping. But, it could be MY COMPUTER's fault and not the fault of the CD player so not sure if I can be fair with my review

Did not work right the way I thought it work on my computer. I wanted a writer to write on CDs.

I bought this on Feb 18th and I was worried about this unit because it seemed so lightweight, but is was working well. Now it will no longer burn a double layer DVD. It worked on a Friday and then I went to burn another DVD the next day and it won't work. It did burn a single layer DVD, but no double layer ones. Since I mostly work with double layer DVDs this unit has become useless to me. If it had only lasted a year, I would have felt that I got my moneys worth, but just 2 months is not acceptable. I still need a burner, but I'm going to try another brand.

Didn’t work with my new Mac Air, although it said it would. Got a refund. My previous purchase of a disc drive did not get refunded, however. It was past 15 days. Bought the Mac air and first disc drive at Best Buy. Maybe I will go directly to the Apple store next time. Finally got a disc drive that worked by going directly to the Apple Store. Third time was the charm. In all fairness, this product may have worked just fine on a different computer.
We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the DVD drive didn't work with your Mac Air.
In order for the optical disc drive to work properly, the laptop should meet the system requirements of the device.

Paid $39.00 for geek squad help so I could watch a movie. It worked fine till I wanted to use it at home

It is very difficult to find and use the button that opens the tray to insert a DVD.

I needed the store to show me how to use it. I thought I had it down but when I attempted to get it up and running, I kept getting the "expand" message instead of the "play" message. Why can't it be easier? Not everybody is tech. savvy but everyone wants to use a DVD player.

Good product but does not work with tablet. Would need tp load LINEX to work. Returned instead....
