Ya never know when you're gonna need one

Discovered I needed an external drive when building new PC. New case doesn't have bays. :-( Anyway, nice device, works quietly and is rather speedy for reading but I haven't tried writing anything.

The CD player in my computer stopped working when a newer version of Win10 was installed. Techs said the newer version wasn't compatible with it. The Asus works with it.

Maybe it was the media I was using. It would not read some of my CDs but some it read fine. It started going slower and just spinning, making a whistling noise. I don't use it much but when I do it usually works, just needs a little TLC

It is truly a plug and play item that worked correctly when plugged into the USB port. The drive is quiet and quick!

There wasn’t anything that let me know that before I bought it.
