Totally defeats the purpose of using it as a speakerphone which is why I bought it.

There should be a weight in back to hold it up, or a way to put something heavy in there- but I can't get the stand off now that it's attached.

Answering Machine function did not Work

I got it set up but after 5 rings a caller gets a busy signal instead of being picked up by the answering machine. I email ATT for help and gave them the model #. I got a 'boiler plate' response that had no reference to my specific model or problem. I called their 800# and got a recording saying they'd get back to me in a day or two. 24+ hours later and no response. Customer service is non-existent. I'm returning it.
