Good value and holds plenty of dvds, also looks very nice

This is a nice unit IF you take care in assembling it. You must remember it is low cost for a reason - it is made of cheap pressed wood. Extra care is needed in assembly. The directions are easy to follow and things seem to fit all right BUT when you get to the final step (#8) and need to nail the back panels on, DO NOT flip the assembly over onto the front as the instructions state. The weight of the unit and the fact that it won't be lying flat due to the extra size of the bottom panel will rip the four screw pins from the cheap pressed board of panels C, G, H, and D. Instead, flip the unit onto it's side and nail the back panels on from there. I had to glue the plastic inserts back in due to the fact that they were ripped from their holes. Once assembled the unit should provide plenty of storage space.

This shelf is not engineered correctly and was not easy to put together and have it stay together. I've put together many bookshelves and other kinds of shelves together without issue. I should've listened to the other reviews. Don't waste your money on this. It is garbage.

Returned. The shelves are very narrow and the blu rays and dvds stuck out making it look like it would going to topple over. Looked cheap.

Overall, the storage unit is very good. The assmebly, particularly putting on the backing, is quite awkwardwith the base plate attached. One side of the attachment screws pulled completely out while trying to put on the backing. I was able to fix it but had to set the unit on its side (instead of on its face as the directions specified) in order to finish attaching the backing.

I purchased this cabinet to match one we already had, but had reached it's storage capacity. The cabinet we received does not begin to compare with the one we already had. This cabinet is a piece of junk. First of all, it wouldn't go together right and we had to glue it together. Secondly, it is flimsy and the shelves are shorter and thinner than the original that BB used to sell. The back is supposed to be covered in wood grain paper facing toward the front, but only part of the back was covered, the rest of it is nothing more than ugly cardboard, which thankfully is mostly covered by the DVD's. It doesn't sit up straight because it is so flimsy and the color is more of a yellow than maple color and does not match the original cabinet at all. One more thing that I am disgusted about is that they do not have these cabinets in the stores so that one can see what they are buying and so you are basically ordering something blind. AFTER GETTING THE CABINET AND SEEING THE POOR QUALITY,I WANTED TO RETURN IT, HOWEVER BEST BUY CHARGES YOU A 25% RESTOCKING FEE, SO KEEP THIS IN MIND BEFORE YOU BUY THIS CABINET. I am very disatisfied with this purchase and the fact that they charge a fee to return something that was defective and that I didn't get to see before I bought it. If you are looking for a quality piece of furniture, keep looking.

I've purchased these units previously and I needed another to accomodate the ever-expanding collection. This model differs from their prior model in that the adjustable shelves are a smaller depth, which means your DVD's or CD's stick out about a good inch or so. However, the supporting beams are the same depth as the prior models, so it's not as though this looks incredibly awkward. All this really means that if you go to pick out a CD or DVD from the collection (and they're a little too snug on the shelf), it sometimes has a tendency to tip the whole shelf forward. I'm not really sure why Atlantic chose to modify the shelf depth, but I'm assuming that it's because it uses less wood which costs them less to manufacture. Otherwise, this is a solid unit and nicely matches my other ones. The unit is sturdy and, for the price, it's a lot better than some of the other junk out there. I'd recommend this piece, just be aware of the new adjustable shelf depth.

The shelf unit was easy to assemble and attached to the wall easily. Good sturdy shelf with enough shelves included to make it good for DVD's or CD's.

It went together perfectly and is exactly what I need for thread storage. It’s cheap particle board, but it looks nice anyway.

I already have 13 of these units and will be buying 3 more very soon. Of the 13 that I have bought over a 4year period I have never had a problem with the packaging, nothing broken or missing. The instructions for assembly are very clear and easy to understand, all the parts bits and pieces are marked and easily identifiable, follow the instructions and you can have a unit assembled in an hour or less. These units are very well made, once you have assembled it you will have a fine looking piece of furniture that is very durable and worth the money paid.. The fixed shelf is placed perfectly for DVD placement I have 4 rows below and 4 rows above the fixed shelf and they look evenly spaced..

I have four of these storage units and when I noticed the need for more storage I went back to this item. As long as I keep collecting Blu-ray/DVDs, I'll keep purchasing this particular product!

As a storage unit for DVD and momentos, however when compared to the same model purchased two years ago, the individual shelves are 3/16 of an inch thinner, and 1 inch narrower, so placed side-by-side, they do not match and some of the DVD cases extend out past the edge of the shelf. You don't notice this until the unit is fully assembled and placed next to the original

Was easy to assemble. Accommodates tapes, CDs, DVDs and VHS. You can set the shelves at different heights to meet your needs. Make sure to use the attachment to secure to the wall. Could possibly fall forward if you don't.

The screws and bolts used in this shelf are of the lowest quality. Upon putting this shelf right side up, the screws in the middle buckled under its own weight and snapped, causing the top half to come crashing down. The parts (particularly the "R" fasteners) are so fragile, and it's meant to hold up movies, books, and other weighted items. The fasteners actually broke in two places. IKEA furniture is tougher than this, and for half the price!

Fairly easy to put together. Very sturdy. Are a good size for a large collection without being an eye sore in the room.

Easy to put together, directions are pretty clear. These are advertised to hold 1080 standard cds so we purchased 2 to handle our 2000 cd collection. We have both standard jewel cases and slim jewel cases. Both seemed to hold only about 800 cds a piece.

I bought 5 of these cases several years ago and was exceedingly pleased with them. I recently purchase two more and I am exceeding displeased as changes have been made to the product that have significantly reduced the quality. The adjustable shelves are not as deep as the stationary shelf therefore the dvd cases overhang the shelf by about 1/2 inch. In addition, the adjustable shelves are not as thick as they were on the older model and therefore more likely to warp under the weight of the dvds. The most significant difference is that the cams used in the assembly hardware are very lightweight and cheap. Several of the cams would not lock and I ended up having to use nails to secure the top to the unit. They also strip out very easily when you attempt to tighten them. It is amazing that Atlantic managed to ruin a very satisfactory product by making minor cost saving changes to it and they are marketing it as the same product and charging even more for it than I paid for the original 5 that I bought several years ago. When you are reading reviews for this product, please note when the review was written. Older cases got very good reviews but the newer cases are not worth buying. I will be returning my second one to Best Buy for a refund.

Have two of this DVD shelf. I hope this does not go out of style. I may have to get a third one, if I don't stop adding to my collection of movies.

This is exactly what I was looking for to store our extensive DVD collection. The quality is average, but it's what I would expect for the price. We're very happy with the purchase.

I followed all the directions but the top portion of the tower bows to the left. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
