This turntable is a great choice since it has its own phono amp and can be plugged into any audio device to play ur records.

Very Disappointing - Even for a starter

Last week my wife and I purchased the Sony model PSLX300USB, we really enjoy it's sound and ease of use. We are both new to collecting records and based on many reviews this was a good starter. This week, we wanted to get another one for the back room that also has speakers to the porch so after many recommendations we decided to try the Audio Technica since a lot professionals use them, so we were told. Extremely disappointing, first the mat is a felt pad after playing a collectors album in white vinyl when we went to flip it, the entire back side of the record was cover in black felt pieces. We didn't notice this on the first record we played since it was black, but after this discovery we immediately cleaned both. Second, the sound quality, the first record was okay, even on the same sound system in the other room as the Sony. So we tried the previously discussed white album and not as crisp as well or make you feel the music like the Sony did. The fact my daughter walked in and asked "did something happen to the record player, it sounds a little off" made me right then and there want to return it. I understand sound is subjective but all 3 of us didn't care for the sound. Finally, this may be normal but I'm still new to using records again, as we sat and watched the record spin you could see the arm going up and down like shocks on a car absorbing imperfections in the road. I did not see this on the sony, nice and level the entire record, I can understand if the record was a little warped but we played them on both one after the other just to see if this was normal. I think it had something to do with the felt pad. So last night I repacked the box and went online to do an in-store pick-up of the Sony PSLX300USB. Aside from these issues the automatic arm performed as expected and I did like that Audio Technica included 2 adapters which the Sony does not.

Four out of Five Stars. Having issue with getting it completely level. Needle will skip with any scratches in the record partly due to uneven plate. Have a tech-geek set it up.

works great. just as decribed. would have given 5 stars but it does feel a little cheap and not as good as your classic record players from the 70s but still totally worth it for the cost.

It wasn't bad for the money, but I actually upgraded to a Denon to get much better sound. This units real weakness is the cartridge

Since I lack the space for my super stereo, I bought this stand-alone turntable to use with stereo or small speakers. It produces good sound, and I love the protective cover.

Some assembly required. I had to YouTube an assembly video for clarification but the video was expertly done by the manufacturer. Push button/Auto start and stop is nice feature and works well.

We had a turntable just like this for many years but when we moved it we broke it and purchased the exact same one since we were satisfied with the last one. Old agers ROCK ON!

Christmas present that still gets used 2 years later, definitely a good investment! Working well, still on original needle with weekly use. My kid loves it, I love the headphone jack.
