Super turntable with a great cartridge This is an excellent turntable very high-quality but what most people don’t know is that you can upgrade the needle and get 100 times better sound by simply adding a $200 stylus. Audio Teknika makes the upgrade styluses for this turntable and the sound is absolutely worth it.

This turntable has the BEST sound... (even better than very expensive sound equipment I have purchased in the past). I have worked at Radio Stations in the past & am very aware of what old 45's & albums should sound like. You won't find a better Stereo Turntable for the great sound & low cost that this one provides.

Very good value for the money. My only struggle with this TT is the anti-skating. Ive been trying various ways to overcome some of the distortion I hear in certain parts of a record. I upgraded the stock VM95 cartridge to the VM540ML; can’t go wrong there but it cost an added $265 +shipping. All in all for the price I would say you can’t beat it. But me being, or trying to be , an audiophile, my ears tune into the imperfections. Alas, I cannot afford the type of system right now that would completely satisfy my auditory senses.

No comparison! This is a very good table for those of us who don’t require a high-end turntable. For less than even a casual enthusiast might pay for a cartridge, You get a well-designed, no frills product with speed controls, balance and anti-skate adjustments and felt mat on a nice alloy platter. The included dual magnet cartridge and selectable phono pre-amp produce a quite adequate signal. Plug it into a pair of powered monitor speakers and you’re good to go! Or you can use the USB Output for a digital connection.

This is the third of the Audio-Technica turntables we've purchased - not because they've failed, but because we wanted one in several rooms...so three it is! The sound quality is great and it plays our vinyl well. For home stereo use, this is an excellent choice for listening to the warm sound of your LP collection.

What a huge difference! Highly recommend this one especially if you are new to turntables. Please do research how to set this up before playing any other records. That way you don’t mess up the needle or vinyl. Once you get it going it’s beautiful!

I wanted to start listening to my vinyls again after a long period of time. I use to have a Dual but have no Idea what happened to it. I paid about $600.00 back in the 70's so it not a cheap one. So i found this one looked at all the reviews and decided to buy it. i have not been disapointed in the purchase

I bought this item more to clean records on before I played them on my 48 year old Dual 1219 record changer & player. The man who got my Dual working advised me not to put very much strain on it. This means that any method of cleaning a record with a cleaning pad as the record rotates would strain my Dual & shouldn't be done on it. Since this model has direct drive for the turntable it will be better than the models that have belt drive. I've not used it much so far but so far it's worked fine & wasn't that hard to assemble.

A definite improvement over the other turntables I've been using to convert my vinyl lps to digital. I did have a problem with the album slipping on the felt pad that was provided with the turntable, but all I had to do was contact Audio Technica and they sent me a rubber mat with no problems. Excellent service.

I had been looking for a turntable for years to play 33, 45 and 78 records that was a good quality that we could hook up to our sound bar. Finally here it is!! This had a built in pre-amp also, perfect! Great combination of features and a great price too! It looks good and fits in beautifully with our system!

This product is exactly as advertised. I really like the adjustable counterweight and anti-skate. It is of a high quality for the price paid. I would only maybe hope for automatic action in addition to this manual turntable, but I an very happy with everything included. It looks great on my sideboard.

    Hideo Matsushita Would Love This

This is the bare-minimum you need in a turntable and really showcases the high quality craftsmanship of Japanese turntable designers and manufacturers. Besides Matsushita/Panasonic, Sanyo, Micro-Seiki, Denon, Kenwood, Sansui, Marantz, Luxman, Onkyo, Victor, Kyocera, or Nakamichi, Audio-Technica has the most offerings right now that really harken back to the golden era of the 1980s and 1990s of phonograph production that were really exemplified by the stunning electronics innovation of Kōnosuke Matsushita. Hideo Matsushita carried on the tradition of Kōnosuke by founding Audio-Technica and left us with the great machines we have here today. I would always recommend buying a Japanese turntable, and preferably one manufactured in Japan to complete your hi-fi system. Audio-Technica has great options for those just starting to get into vinyl - and if you need a starter phonograph - this is a great start.

I haven’t had a turntable since the mid 80’s. I did a lot of shopping around, web etc and this is the one I selected. First it is a solid unit unlike some of the other units in the same price range. Easy setup and I was playing the old records again. Very happy with the purchase

The only reason I couldn't give this table 5 stars is it didn't come with an auto return feature. We've become so conditioned to cds stopping on their own or continuing to play, that I almost forgot you have to flip the vinyl over to play the other side. However, that's also part of the nostalgic appeal. The turntable forces you back into music appreciation mode. Grab a good wine, some appetizers, a good women and just get back into the music. Sorry...waxing rhapsodic

I love everything about this turntable. If you know what it can do and you use it right, its an excellent upgrade from a beginner turntable. Hook it up to a preamp & some speakers and the sound quality is amazing. Has a built in preamp but it sounds better without one.

This is my first turntable. I chose this one after extensive research as it matched my needs and wasn’t too out there in terms of price. It sounds great running through my home theater set up. Vinyl blows all other formats out of the water and I’m glad I made the move.
