Save your money, wait until they offer a non motion control remote and lower the cost. Video quality is meh and you can’t fully use all functionality with what they give you out of the box which is ridiculous.

Let me start this review by saying that the customer service at DJI is top notch. I had some initial issues with my unit, but the folks at DJI were fast to respond to me, worked around my schedule to work with me, and got me taken care of very quickly. Now, onto the DJI Avata drone. Having been flying drones for years, both as a hobby and for business, I've got to say I love this little guy. I do a lot of work for realtors, doing virtual walkthroughs of houses, aerial photography, etc. Many of The units I have used over the years were too big to fly through the house, and so we're only suitable for aerial and outdoor views. The size and maneuverability of the DJI Avata alleviates these issues, and allows me to get all of my work done using one unit and one quick fly-through, then out the door and above the house. This unit is so great and saves me so much time that I've been able to lower my rates and get a ton of new customers. Using the DJI goggles 2 is an amazing experience. It gives me the exact view that my customers will be getting, and allows me to do the job right the first time. The only thing I wish they would add to these goggles is the ability to just use them as a screen. They are incredibly comfortable, and I could easily see watching a movie on them or something. As a side note, the battery only lasts for between 15 and 20 minutes of flight. I have to assume anyone using this drone for business or racing is going to need more time than that, so I highly recommend getting extra batteries.

The Motion Controller refuses to charge when plugged into any USB-C Power Delivery source, such as USB-C power brick or laptop USB-C port. It only charges via legacy 5V USB-A to USB-C cable.

I wouldn’t be more happy with this purchase. I really enjoy going to places and using it. Every time I use I learn more and more about it.

Awesome drone, good introduction to fpv world. Very smooth camera, drone itself has some limitations but overall great first fpv drone.

I have flown this drone and many others in its category for a few years now and this is by far the easiest. It also does well in helping new pilots learn.

At first i loved the drone but then with the latest firmware update and DJI utilizing a cheap and sneaky update for remote ID i wish i could return mine. Not that I'm against remote ID but now having to have your phone connected while flying could have been handled better. There are also new goggles coming out this year that may be a better option. Had I known all this i would have waited.

First flight, incredible! I go to fly again today and now I have multiple errors. A gamble error and battery error. I’ve tried calibrating and went through multiple troubleshooting processes. I call DJI support and they’re no help. After spending all this money for one flight I have to send it back to DJI so they can see what the problem is. Initially I was super pumped about this drone, but now I’m frustrated I wasted my time and money on this.

Good luck getting this setup on an iphone. They do not include cables needed for pairing.
