This release does not have dolby vision, but I honestly cannot imagine it looking any better with it on my 65" LG C2. The blacks are rich but there's undoubtedly great detail in the shadows with some really captivating gradients. Any improvement via DV is bound to be so marginal that you'd have to be looking for it side-by-side to care. This is what you show to people to demo your setup

Avatar has finally come home on 4K Ultra HD courtesy of Disney with a excellent presentation minus DolbyVision. (Thanks Disney) this is the best way to view the film (theatrical version) for sure, but if you are looking for extras, you will be disappointed. Order the collectors edition that was released in 2012 for all the goodies that are included in that set. (Especially all 3 versions of the film)

The audio and video of this movie are crazy good! I have an LG C1 and a Sonos 5.1 channel system and this is one of my favorite 4K discs to play to show off my setup. I do not have the same experience streaming this movie.. compression, buffering, and pixelation are awful compared to the disc version.

Well i went to best buy get "Avatar the way of the water", instead by mistake i got Avatar , since they have like 3 type of movie cover, it confusing, i came across the mistake when try to watch movie, it's was a movie that i already have, they shouldn't put avatar 1 with a different cover right next to Avatar 2..of course once it's unwrapped there's no way to return it

Avatar was a film that i grew up not enjoying. I didnt like the fact that the story was so thin you could cut it apart with an Oreo. However as i got past that later in life i looked at what it brought to the table in terms of CGI and started to see the value. The film looks better than ever on the 4K format and it will be a rewatch of mine for years to come.

I love this movie, Cameron has outdone himself again. Action packed and story driven the movie has depth and builds each character so well that each vould have their own screen time detailing each characters progress as fhey grow. Looks AMAZING in 4K and the packaging looks VERY NICE even though I was additionally hoping for a Steelbook. I will always prefer to watch Avatar in 3D because it so incredibly immersive but the HDR in the 4K disc shows so much detail and shadow detail that each format leaves me engaged in different ways.

Honestly, this is a beautiful cover. I love the white slip book. It looks sleek. Not sure why others are review bombing due to it not being a steelbook... it never says it's a steelbook.

awesome, best buy is the only place i'd prefer buying my movies, electronics, video games, pc's and everything related, this movie was a good price, quality product as always, and visiting the store was a pleasure as ALWAYS, employees are always pleasant and helpful.

What more can I say that hasn't already been said? Breathtaking cinematogaphy, a fresh and unique storyline, an ongoing theme that is relatable to everyone, no matter your background, culture or race. A must see!

Good colors and detail . This movie cut is the theatrical version. Sound is punchy with nice depth. Watching the movies over again gets you more pulled into the world of pandora and the different groups that are clashing with mortality of the situation at hand.

Thought video was great in 2K. Wait until you see it in 4K! Stunning!

Finally!!!!! Avatar on 4k has been released. I decided to start it late last night and i was only going to watch an hour and finish the rest today, yeah that didn't happen. I watched the whole movie last night and today at work was tough but it was worth it.

i don't know why people are saying that the visual effects on this movie didnt really hold up don't believe those guys this movie still looks beautiful! and the 4k version makes it slightly better but not as much! the sound tho is amazing on it!

Blows the already excellent blu ray out of the water. There are just even more colors, hues and deeper blacks-WOW! Only down side- No extended cut. Hope Cameron comes out with it at another time. A reason to get a 4k TV.

I wanted to watch the original movie again before I watched Avatar 2. I thoroughly enjoyed familiarizing myself with the story line again and it's crazy to think this movie was made before 2010. Great series !

I've been wanting this ever since 4K Blu-ray was introduced to me. It was this and Tron: Legacy. Still waiting for Tron: Legacy but so happy this finally came out and I added it to my collection.

Big Upgrade from the Blu-ray version in terms of Visual and Audio quality. The HDR is awesome and delivers great detail and Dolby Atmos offers a better sound quality than the Blu-ray.

Avatar in 4K UHD -- a must have for any James Cameron fan! Picture quality is arguably the best I've seen on any 4K UHD disc. Far superior than the 4K compression available on streaming. Highly recommend!
