Finally waited for this movie to go on sale. James Cameron makes excellent films, as he puts a lot of time, money and effort into them. Therefore, the price doesn't drop too often. Wish there were more features, other than that, is a great movie. It's only one disc and the main menu will let you select to play the movie in 3D or 2D. Picture quality is amazing in 2D as it is still Blu-Ray.

It has been years since I saw Avatar at the theater and this is an equal experience on a 55 in 4K LED TV. The 3D is very good especially when in the scene where these white flower like things are floating around in the air and appear to float off the screen. This is my first 3D movie so I can't comment on how it compares to other 3D movies. Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

So if you've seen Avatar in the theatres, then you remember what an incredibly stunning film it was and how incredibly immersive when seen in 3-D. If you already own it on BluRay, then you know how amazing it looks on a 1080p TV. However, if you don't own it yet, and you want to add it to your collection, then this is the definitive edition. Home 3-D will always be less impressive than that in the theatre, so avoid the 3-D edition and get this one with the extra footage and three different versions of the film. There's the theatrical, a cut with a little extra footage, and then the full cut with all extra footage integrated. It adds quite a bit of depth to some ancillary characters and really rounds out the story/experience.

Wow! Best movie I've seen in years! Beautiful cinematography, and good story line to boot. But it was more than that... thought provoking. It showed a culture who had great respect, love and care for their planet, vs another culture who only saw the monetary gains achieved, by destroying it. Same old story?? Not really. It was great from beginning to end, and interesting for both young and old.

I couldn't believe how much more enjoyable a movie could be in 3D. Avatar is a great movie in any format but truly amazing in 3D. I wasn't going to buy it initially since I already owned the original version but am truly happy I bought this version as it's beyond beautifully done as some scenes are so realistic you think you are actually participating in the movie.

Finally added Avatar to my movie collection; my 10 year old granddaughter noticed it when she was here “oooh, you have Avatar”! Good movie, will definitely watch again.

I bought this disc mainly to test out my new OLED with 3D. I've never been all that interested in 3D but was curious how it would look on my new HT setup. I was not disappointed. The 3D at home, using an OLED display, was just as good as what I remember from the theater. I'm still not a big fan of 3D but I did enjoy watching this once.

I've been waiting for the extended 3D version of this movie forever and it seems like it's not happening anytime soon so I just got this one during the Black Friday sale. It is a must own movie for anyone with a 3D TV. It is really sad that the TV manufacturers stopped making 3D TVs and this movies shows you why they should continue.

I thoroughly enjoyed the artistry and narrative of James Cameron's creation when it first came out. However, I felt the storyline left questions, i.e. why was the school closed? The extended edition includes scenes that answer these background questions. Since this is also a collector' edition, there is an entire disc of bonus material that I am still checking out!

Avatar was one of the first "major" 3D movies that had a large box office. I know many people, myself included, that saw the movie twice just because of how great the visuals looked. Well after all these years Avatar still looks great when viewed on a proper projector screen in 1080P 3D format. If you own a 3D projector this movie is a must buy for most people.

We all know Avatar. I’ve never owned a copy of this film and I saw it was cheap so why not? Great film with great added scenes. If you loved this movie now you’ll love it more. If you don’t, definitely give it a shot again.

I bought this movie for my family to watch before we head to Disney in a few weeks to visit the new Pandora World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom. The movie would have been well worth watching regardless of our trip. The special effects were incredible and watching it in Blu-ray on the 4K HD tv was amazing. Well worth checking out!

We saw AVATAR at the movies when it first came out. it was such an amazing movie i wanted to see it again. When i saw the collectors addition I had to have it. The directors cut was great and the interview with james Cameron was very enlightening. Now I have an even better understanding of the story behind the movie. Makes it even better.

Incredible to have at home with 3D. Watching through a GT1080pHDR Optoma projector/Xbox One with Ultimate 3DHeaven glasses. Screen is full and immersive 3D. Better and clearer than I remembered the experience being in theaters. Def worthy as a showcase 3D movie.

I have always wanted to purchase Avatar on bluray but thought the price was too high. My daughter and I have a top five list and this is at the top of her list. When I received the email saying that it was on sale I had to get it. I had rented the DVD when it was released but was blown away by the bluray. Very happy with my purchase.

I heard all these great things about Avatar, with it winning all these awards. I wasn't able to watch it in theaters so I had to wait until it came out on DVD. Finally was able to watch it and loved it! It has a great storyline and the digital graphics are excellent. I loved this 3 disc version because it includes special behind the scenes footage.

Like anything, it all depends on preference. I'm a movie buff, so no reason not to own a movie such as this one, however first time I saw it in 2D, I was not as impressed as everyone hyped it up to be. Seeing the movie in 3D definitely made it a bit more spectacular, however, for my preferences, the story wasn't the best or most touching I'd ever seen. Great movie, don't get me wrong, I just feel the majority was seeing how far they could push the boundaries of the 3D/CGI...etc., and to that they did definitely make for some nice eye candy. Also the order online and pick up in store always makes it so easy to get what you wanted at your local store right when you get there!! Thanks!!

Finally bought the best 3D sci-fi movie. I am also a StarWars fan, but Avatar is still the best in 3D. Did not buy on 3D originally, as I chose Phillips &Samsung while then you can only get 3D Bluray with Panasonic purchase. While I still have Samsung 3D, now I finally have the Avatar 3D as well. Amazing to watch on my TV

We liked this movie so much when we saw it the the theater that we had to have it for our own. This set comes with three separate discs which have three different endings to the movie. The picture quality is excellent!
