Ok; I'm really very tired of people given a review prior to even viewing the movie and/or complaining about features that they already know are clearly not provided with the movie!! This is a GREAT movie and plays perfectly on my Samsung without any issues as do all BD movies, though some take a few to load into the memory, which I believe some of the new players resolve that lag time. If you like a movie, just get it and enjoy it even knowing that down the road there will be a special cut, director's cut, collector's edition, anniversary edition, etc. The point is if you like a movie and want to see it again and enjoy it without all the unwarranted criticism than go buy it and enjoy!!! Otherwise, if you don't have anything good to say, say nothing at all!!!!!

Avatar is an amazing movie to watch. At first, I was worried that some of the magic I experienced while seeing Avatar in 3D in the theater would be lost at home, but that is not the case. In fact, the rich colors and crispness of the visuals look better than the tinted, blurry images of 3D. This edition of the movie finally includes the features we've wanted from the start, making it a worthwhile purchase for any fan of James Cameron.

Originally I bought the Collectors 3 Disc Edition, on bestbuy.com, thinking the 3D version was include. I was wrong and ended up going to the local Bestbuy store to exchange it. I was happy to find out the 3D version was actually cheaper. So back to the actual movie. Played through the PS4 which is connected to Samsung 4k 65'. As soon as the family sat down to watch the movie, everyone was silent with their eyes fixated on the screen. The colors and sounds quality was outstanding. Actually better 3D than when I originally saw it in 3D at the movie theater. Definite a must own if you want to experience great 3D quality, or just to add to your Blu-ray and/or 3D Collection!

Its good if you like special effects, lots of action,stunning visuals,ex.. like most sci-fi movies good visuals poor story line and rather simplistic. more of a futuristic cowboys and indians.I would compare it to star wars type movie. If it had a complicated story line your head would explode trying to take it all in. A little on the long side could have trimed a lot of sygorni weavers part out. wasn't needed in story. But all and all good to watch dont try to over analize it, just enjoy. maybe theres realy no message in the movie (earth friendly) just part of the story line, disney didn't make it. Its a high def movie if you dont have a high def tv dont complain about the bars on the top and bottom you were ment to see it all.

this is a real 3D move..the movie is excellent and the 3D effects make you feel you're in Pandora ... this is one of those movies that no matter how many times you've seen in 2D when you see it in 3D is a different experience .

Ima be real I don’t care for this movie, looks great an all just another Pocahontas story plot.

The collector's edition allows you to watch the normal movie, or 2 versions with about 8 or 16 extra minutes of deleted scenes. Although some are nonessential, a few help the storyline along or provide extra detail for the story. The set also contains lots of extra footage and behind the scenes material, which will interest those who would like to see how everything came together.

This movie belongs at the top of the all time movie list. It is a wonderful movie that as soon as it was over i wanted to watch it again. This movie is a longer one so make sure you have a good 3 hours to watch it, and keep the popcorn handy. But trust me these will be some of the best three hours you have ever spent watching a movie. It's plot is original and amazing, and every scene is filled with amazing scenery, and a wonderful plot. Once you buy this movie it will quickly become the most watched movie in your collection.

This release contains two seperate extended vesions plus the original theater release. I was dissappointed that this edition was not in the 2.4:1 format. I did not get to see this movie in the theater but considering that the deleted scenes are in the 2.4:1 ratio I believe that the movie was formated to fill current wide screens.

What can i say about this film other than its fantastic. almost everyone has seen it. its such a good movie! another amazing movie from a great director. the reason this is having such little special features is so it can have more storage capacity for higher resolution in video and sound. sure this one isnt gonna be in 3d but so what. shoulda seen it in theaters or wait till november for the 3d release. i care about the movie. i dont plan on getting it in 3d. its not for me. ill stick with regular blu ray for now

I never watched Avatar 3d in the theaters. I've watched the movie several times on blu-ray. I purchased the updated 3d version on blu ray and it was like watching the movie again for the first time only better. I saw things in this version that I never remembered seeing in the non 3d version. If you are looking for a 3d blu ray disc to show what your 3d tv can do, look no farther. This is the best of the best.

Ok to anyone that says no extras, well think about it you get the blu ray version and the dvd for 22 bucks, the menu does offer the movie in I believe it was 3 to 5 languages which is a lot compared to some others that only come in two, then the option of true hd surround, or dolby surround, which do sound super amazing in either one of those two, I loved how my room sounded with the surround option. The blu ray looks amaizing so good some parts will look as if the actors where right there behind the screen. Well in all I do recommend you to buy this movie at first you might think haa its boring, but then it gets quite good.

Jake sully replaces his brother for this high paying experiment that takes place on the world of Pandora. Jake's job is to find a peaceful way to get the local tribe to move from home tree, when exploring he finds a animal that chases him off of a cliff, when hes friends can't find him they leave him for the night. Jake encounters more wildlife big dogs like creatures this time just when one of them is about to kill him a local comes to the rescue buy the movie and find out what happens next.

I went to the theater the first time to view this movie in 3D and was blown away. After this I saw it a couple more times. The art direction and visual effects set the bar for all new scifi epic adventures. The story was imaginative in a way that forced me into a viceral trance thoughout the entire movie. This movie is totally captivating and a must for all scifi and action adventure fans. I hope it's delivered in 3D, so I can relive the total theater experience in my home. PHENOMENAL.

I don't normaly like this kind of movie, but was asked to go and watch it with my husband, so I did. To my surprise I really enjoyed the movie, the colors so brillient the thought behind it so different. I thought was one Great movie my sons loved it so I bought it for one of them for there birthday.

Im a HUGE Avatar fan. I saw it in the theatre two times as it is one of my favorite movies. However, part of what makes it great is the amazing picture and the life like feel you get from the 3D. I watched this last night on a new 46'' HD TV, not Blue Ray version, and it look awful. The colors were bad and it just felt like a cartoon movie instead of the amazing movie that it is. I cant not recommend getting this movie because it is great, but I would definitely get the 3D version coming out in 2011. Maybe the Blue Ray looks better, but the standard HD version was not up to par.

I just bought a new Samsung Plasma 3d tv a much bigger tv to watch Avatar. The picture was amazing like watching the movie for first time the color sound everything so amazing. I haven't watch all three of bonus dvd. This is a great movie for visual, but the plot lacks, and yes it reminds me of an over the top Dances with Wolves. I don't think people watch or buy dvd for the plot but just the amazing visual technology.

I bought this movie on it's release date and watched it on my older 40' LCD TV and was impressed with the movie and picture. I then got a 47" 240HZ LED TV and played it again. OMG, what a difference! The details, sharpness, it was nothing short of amazing. The picture almost looked 3D it was so good. This is clearly the standard that all other Blu-Ray DVD's should shoot for! I also enjoyed the story and the acting was very good.

I am not a great fan of Sci-Fi, but this is one of the best presentations in all the rating categories. The movie starts off a little slow, but after about 10 minutes I was rivited to my chair waiting for the next action scene. This is a "must see" for anyone that wants to watch a great movie.

I agree with a few previous comments. When you put Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, Pocahontas, and The Smurfs together with a Star Wars scifi theme you get Avatar. I sat and watched this movie for three days straight and saw it multiple times in theaters. I recommend watching this movie to everyone atleast once even if you don't like this kind of genre. I definitely recommend this to everyone!
