Strip mining a planet other than your own against the wishes of the inhabitants turns out to be deadly. The mercenaries brough to safeguard the miners are ruthless and violate the sanctity an religious beliefs of the native inhabitants of the planet. The movie's action sequences and scenery is tremendously enhanced by this 3D film.

this movie is worth buying.. esp in BluRay only way to see this one can't even imagin it in 3D Wow must be totally great have all you snacks lined up as this is a long movie but it will keep you on the edge of your seats Right and Wrong Lessions are taught here so take heed nuff said over all Buy the movie great flick Colors Wow Great plot as well

I first saw this movie in theaters, and thought it looked great then. When we got a blu-ray player, this was a must have. I can't believe how awesome it looks on my TV - I almost didn't believe it was my TV! Definitely worth paying extra for the blu-ray instead of the DVD.

There aren't special features but you can go online with the code they give you to see the special features. The only thing that bugs me is the main character in real life is Australian and his accent comes out sometimes in the movie even though he's suppossed to be american

Excellent and Entertaining movie, this was good science fiction, some people compare the story line to Dances with Wolves. But then I always compared Dances with Wolves to Broken Arrow with Jimmy Steward, same story line. Yes storyline was borrowed from other movies, but so are a lot of other movies.Go see it, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Just to keep it short and sweet.. If your a Audiophile or Home theater person like myself, This is a must buy , no matter what.. The CD ( obviously ) is top notch and the audio and LFE ( bass ) is full, plentiful , and not overdone.. Just a perfect blend overall The movie is, eh.. ok, cheesy acting and writing at times but tolerable. Its a good plot to the story, even tho im not into the sci-fi type movies. If your not into the movie hypt, have blu ray, or a good HT audio system , this might be a rental, but if your wanting to see how powerful blu ray picture and audio quality are , pick it up, no questions

I loved this film. It is a great film, but my biggest concern is that Best Buy is selling this Blu Ray at a higher price in store than online. It was only after I asked was I informed that they would match the price in store. So people who don't know that it is cheaper online are paying an extra $5. That's pretty sleazy.

Yes you can watch it in 3D. If you have a Samsung 3DTV or any 3D TV that does conversion on the fly then there is an option that converts any 2D to 3D. Put in the Blu ray version which by the way has the best picture of any Blu Ray and switch the option to on and guess what you are watching it in 3D. Why wait 10 months.

Excellent plot and idea of man who lost his legs and his brother getting a chance to get his legs and mobility back. Wonderful effects and flawless flow. Not so big on the "Earth First" themes, etc., but loved the whole thing from an imagination point.

This movie is the best movie that I've ever seen. The PQ on Blu-ray is just amazing! You've gotta get this movie. I saw this movie in theaters first (The only thing I knew about the movie befor I saw it, was there was some blue people and some planet).

I did not see this in the theater. Didn't think I would like it. When it came out on Blu-ray 3D the reviews were so good I thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I did. The movie was good. The special effects and 3D were astonishing. It has to be one of the best 3D movies ever made.

The family and I saw this movie when it came out in the theater. My little one just turned eight and he was really tired, but he wanted to see the whole movie so bad that he says "Mommy I really like this movie please don't let me fall asleep." He made it through to the end and we all agreed it was worth the money!!!

The graphics are what really makes this movie work. The acting is still very good. There is some slight ghosting/blurring in several parts of the movie but nothing to take away from it. At other times the visuals are absolutely stunning!

This movie really was a must see in 3D but it's really a great movie either way. I know people knock it for lack of an original storyline (ie Pochahontas) but I thought the love story still worked. This movie has something for everyone, even the kids. Truly stunning visuals!! I highly recommend everyone see this...

A paraplegic ex-marine name Jake Sully(Sam Worthington) finds new life on the planet of Pandora,only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet's Na'vi race.Every actor does a really good job at their role,a bit of the dialog is a little hit and miss,but it's a movie for friends and families to watch and enjoy.Director James Cameron does an excellent job behind the camera bringing the Na'vi natives and creatures of Pandora to life.While this is a good movie I find that it's just not as good as Cameron's earlier film Terminator 2: Judgment Day(1991).

I'm a big fan of sci-fi so I have enjoyed the movie, however this may not be the case with everyone. The plot is fairly simple and is a rehash or variation of stories seen in other movies. The real reason to get Avatar is for its visuals which are simply amazing. I would recommend renting this before buying to judge whether its a movie that you would want in your collection.

Avatar is the standard by which all other 3D movies will be measured. It does not use a lot of pop-out effects (things appearing to come out of the screen), but has a lot of depth (things appearing further away than the screen). If you're interested in 3D movies, this is a must.

This movie was the most watched movie at my house over the holidays. Watching it HD and on a larger screen is definatley the ticket! Its a must for every library. It is an amazing story. Some parts had me on the edge of my seat. In some parts i felt like i was a part of the movie. Wow.

Awesome 3 disc collector's edition. Movie looks great, as expected. all the extra special features are a nice bonus as well.
