Dancing with Wolves 2: In Space

look, if you want to watch dances with wolves again, but with either horrible acting or just terrible cliche dialogue, this movies for you. I can understand why people like this, because it pretty un-thought provoking, and ends up like a mindless action movie. It ends up being just a half butt job and i swear lines from this movie were taken straight from titanic. The cgi was great, but it was way too much overall, and i thought i was watching a cartoon after awhile instead of an actual live action movie. But, you know what, i'd recommend getting it, because it was fun to watch, and it can be an enjoyable family movie that can look fantastic, if thats what your looking for. so why not right?

I think the movie has some good shots in it but doesn't offer real nice 3D screen shots as a lot of other 3D movies do....

This movie has so many colors and things popping out. Seeing it in 3D is a must! I loved it.

The movie was fun to watch in the theater, and also at home. But the "limited 3D edition", is exactly what it claims to be - limited. They put both blu-ray and 3D versions on one disk. The other disk is an SD version if the movie. I find it strange that the movie that pushed 3D forward, and that was such an incredible success, was released in such a cheap manner. There isn't a single extra feature.

Poor 3D, Find the Director's Cut

I had been waiting for Avatar 3D to be rereleased for a while. After watching it, the wait wasn't worth, nor was the $25 I spent on it. Maybe I'm jaded because I first saw it theaters in IMAX 3D. The first bluray release was great because it's all we had to choose from. Then came the Director's Cut which blew me away. The remastering gave me the same effect in 2D that I had watching it on 3D. I hoped the 3D bluray would be just as good as the Director's Cut, but it's not. It appears to be a low quality version of the original bluray release. All the bright images are missing. Most notabley the artifacts that seem to float in front of your face and you try to brush them away. There are moments where the jungle seems alive but it's mostly an unartistic glimpse into the depth of the picture. Save your money for the rerelease of the Director's Cut in 2D.

If you see it in 3D is a great movie

If you love special effects you'll love this movie, and if you can spend your money in a 3D Plasma TV, 3D lenses and Blu-Ray player you'll have a great experience. If not, you may find many other options for great movies, good actors. This is a waste if you don't consider the technology included in the movie

It is an excellent movie. The media is wat is not worth a $3 bill. If you were wondering why a $55 disc is sold here for $30, wonder no more. It does not play in most players. After spending almost two hours finding a thumb drive, updating the BD firmware, it just wouldnt load. I am guessing that you have to pay up the wazoo for an expensive BD player that would play this. I have a Samsung BD-C5500 and this is the only BD I have had problems with. I tried it in my friends Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD and it played wonderfully. Never mind that the Pioneer costs $400 more than my Samsung. So if you have a new (less than a year) BD player and paid $400+ for it, go ahead and buy this piece of worthless...

DONT BUY DVD GET BLU RAY!!!!

The movie itself is great. My wife and I both love the story. We bought it on blu ray which also came with the DVD. We compared them and the DVD version is so nasty looking and blurry. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest getting this movie in BLU RAY. I am not going to say I would recommend that I would recommend this because I would not due to the horrible quality of DVD for this movie. Also for people concerned about the blu ray playing and the update and everything. I have not updated my PS3 and it plays just fine on it.

    Collector's Edition is Terrible

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the Collector's Edition on blu-ray for a high-quality extended-cut of the movie. The box set is organized very poorly. The 3 versions of the movie are split into halves, the first half of all versions are on disc one, the second half of all versions on disc two. This requires you to switch blu-rays halfway through the movie. The quality also seems very poor for a blu-ray, standard DVDs view better on my TV then this box set. I regret buying this box set, I would have bought the original version on blu-ray had I known this. This box set is garbage and does the movie Avatar no justice.

    Another $40 Waste

Once again, i am disappointed. The movie was awesome, dont get me wrong. But it was to be understood that THIS blu-ray would contain the missing scenes, right? WRONG ! Now, i own the original 1-disc blu-ray, as well as the new 3-disc. AND NEITHER ONE HAS THE MUSIC VIDEO SCENE THAT WAS IN THEATRES ! ! ! There's 1 specific scene where neyteri and jake are running around in the dark, with the neon colors, and the song "I See You" playing. It was an "AVATAR MUSIC VIDEO" within a full-length movie. What the hell happened to that scene ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ?

Wait for the Pandora Box edition

This movie that you're buying is only a 2D BD version, unless you only care for the movie without the better quality. To all the people who are anxious to buy this awesome movie...I would strongly recommend to WAIT for the "PANDORA BOX" edition (3D version, 4 Disc, with plenty of extras and documentaries) which will come out on November of this year that if you want your money's worth. You can read the information posted below on the movie director's interview on the upcoming 3D BD version of this movie. Source: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=65324

    Don't Buy Avatar

If you are not extremely tech savvy do not spend the time or money on this blue ray. It requires a new firm ware update to play at all (unless your Blue Ray player is connected to the web already, this is not likely). This will ruin your evening if you sit down to watch it with the family or a date and find out that instead, you will need to spend an hour downloading the firmware update, burning it to a disc, transferring file to the blue ray player and then restarting the blue ray player.

The most over rated movie of all time!!!!!!!!

First off it seemed very Disney oriented to me much like Pochahantas" may not have spelled that right". It's a love story about people from different worlds also very Disney like but with a hint of adulkt content if i had little kids aside from the language I could take them to see it. It was also way to long for a love adventure movie not much action until the end. And the whole " I see you" that was funny what do you see lol. I guess it has a spiritual meaning. Anyway horrible.

This movie is horrible. One would think with James Cameron helming it that it would be good. But Sam Worthington is horrible, the plot is predictable,it runs way over how long it should have been and it harps on being environmental WAY to much. How this film was nominated for best picture is beyond me......

    Avatar home release

What is the point in buying any movie (Avatar included) that is not released in fullscreen format? I didn't buy a large screen HD tv to see a shrunken-size movie release. No, thank you. At least give us the option of viewing it in fullscreen or widescreen. I have lots of dvd's that offer that choice.

It is truly a great movie...Wish I could enjoy watching it. My BluRay drive on my computer will not play it, and I cannot find updates or anything so that I can play it. They are obviously open now, and if I can't enjoy them at home what can I do? Feel a little helpless....good movie though

What do you get when you rip off Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, Pocahontas, and The Smurfs, and add cool 3D effects? Avatar! Don't waste your money on purchasing this movie. If you didn't get to see it in IMAX 3D, then it's just another horrible movie.
