Erases the Memory of the 1980s Marvel Films

As always, the visual aspects of the film were quite strong. In fact, all of the technical aspects are first-rate: color/photography, CGI, sound, etc. When you watch a Disney Marvel film, you get a top-notch show. Obviously, this ain't a Marvel film from the 1980s or early 1990s. Ugh. Anyway, the main weakness is the same for a lot of Marvel films: a so-so villain. James Spader's performance is great for what he's given to do, but the motivations are a bit muddy and abrupt. I guess it provides indirect commentary of some of our social ills, but that's about it. However, the action is spot-on--especially when the Avengers are fighting each other: it's quick and brutal. Not quite Civil War good, but still pretty awesome.

I feel like this movie could have been better. Perhaps, because of the expectations behind Ultron and how famous his character in the comics was, people went in high hopes and got a bit of a puzzle with this movie. All in all, I liked I was not going to pay extra for this Blu ray and I wanted to make sure it had the Digital copy, very important for streaming whenever.

I purchased this on the special release day for $19.99, this is a fantastic price for a 3d Blu-ray steelbook! The steelbook design itself is very nice. There were two different designs, one with Ultron on the back and the other with Vision. The movie itself is full of action and terrific special effects . I enjoyed the first film as well but, found this film to be a bit more balanced with a slightly more intriguing plotline. As far as the 3d goes, I would rate it somewhere between medium and medium-high. It does have some decent depth.

Basing this review mainly on packaging, it's another knockout of a SteelBook design. Very pleased that, like the first movie, they followed up with the similar “A” logo used in the teaser poster for the cover. It's interesting that this time around, they opted to make two different back cover designs of both Ultron and Vision, and they both have a beautiful gloss finish. I only wish the interior art had the same panoramic design taken from the poster art as in the first movie. Aside from that, another overall fantastic release.

Tony Stark creates the Iron Legion, unmanned versions of his Iron Man armor, to police the world. When Ultron the artificial intelligence meant to protect the world becomes sentient and goes rogue, it is up to the Avengers to correct Tony's mistake before floating Sekovia becomes the instrument of mankind's demise. Ultron's pursuit of his image of the perfect host body results in the creation of The Vision and a wonderfully memorable scene with Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.

First, let me say that I'm a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This entry into the MCU was the closing chapter for Phase 2 of what Marvel/Disney has planned and boy did it feel like it. It really sets up where these films are headed and I know that I personally loved every second of it. The best parts, in my opinion, are the new characters we meet this time around and I look forward to where they're headed next. All in all, it's not as good as the first Avengers pic, but I still loved it and can't wait for Phase 3!

    Great Movie

I thought that this movie was a great followup to the previous Avengers movie which is hard to do for the second in any franchise. It kept the characters developing in new and interesting ways and added to the heightening danger Marvel is building toward with their movie plans. As a stand a lone it does suffer slightly by the, at times, over abundance of characters. The Black Widow story arc/love interest was forced and not fulfilling for me. Giving us some backstory to other characters was a good adjustment and allowed characters not adequately highlighted in the past movies to shine a bit. What this movie did really well is set up the story for the upcoming films in this franchise and is what I've come to expect from Marvel films in general. Let's hope this model continues to work.

The movie itself is pretty good, but suffers from obvious studio interference. It's hard to watch without thinking about what things Joss Whedon was forced to include to set up for future MCU movies, and what things he was forced to cut in order to make room for those first things. I just get the feeling that there's a much better version of Avengers 2 that we'll never see. The Best Buy exclusive steelbook packaging is nice. I went with the Ultron version instead of the Vision, because this is likely to be the only movie to feature Ultron, and Vision is definitely returning. Probably the best thing about it was the price. Usually, special editions are more expensive than the standard release, but this steelbook was actually cheaper, so it would have been ridiculous not to get it.

Ever since the Marvel movies began filming I was hooked. Along came The Avengers (1st film) and I was blown away! I could not wait to see Age of Ultron. The CGI in these movies are just ridiculous!! It looks so incredibly real and makes you feel like you are part of the movie. Not to mention that they add in everything you are looking for in a movie - whether it be action, humor, romance, etc. I loved this movie and look forward to any upcoming films they do. I would easily recommend this to any of my friends or family!

It's difficult to not spend an arm and a leg whenever picking up your next anticipated Blu-Ray release..unless you shop at Best Buy. I'm a huge comic book fan, and I couldn't wait to pick up my copy of Age of Ultron. I get all the superhero films, and I only get them at Best Buy, their prices are too good. Simple as that. High-quality, gorgeous Blu-Ray formats, awesome special features, and all for the best prices you can find. And did I forget to mention the movie was fantastic? A solid win all the way around.

It was good. The movie was done well w/ many laugh out loud moments. Spader's Ultron worked his way into my list of enjoyable villains that I dig. The movie did seem to concentrate on a lot of different story lines that had to intertwine. It sometimes caused parts to feel somewhat rushed. You can also see a changing of the characters in the forefront. That said the introduction of Vision was most welcomed! Paul Bettany did an excellent job brining him to life. As far as Quicksilver goes I didn't enjoy this version of him as much as I did the one from the X-Men universe. I did enjoy the first movie a bit more. All that said I will watch it again. See it! I will save you the wait, there is nothing at the very end of the credits, only one mid-credit scene (it is cool)

Honestly for me, the only reason why I bought the Blu-ray combo from bestbuy and not any other place was for the steelbook case! If you're a collector of movies, the special BestBuy steelbook case is a must have! Movie and everything else in the discs are ok. If you're a Disney Marvel Fan, you're going to like the movie, however if you don't follow the rest of the movies and "Agents of SHEILD" some of the movie will get confusing! Look it up online to fill you in on some of the scenes after you watch the movie!

Marvel's Unstoppable Heroes Return For An Epic S

Earth's Mightiest Heroes return for an all out battle against the seemingly-unstopable Ultron. As the fate of mankind hangs in the balance, Marvel treats viewers to a visual and non-stop action spectacle of a film. The character chemistry is great not to mention the epic showdown between Hulk and Tony's special Hulkbuster armor. James Spader is amazing as Ultron and brings a touch of humanity to the techonologically-advanced villain. This is the kind of movie that you will enjoy watching over and over again.

Seen as both a pro and a con, this movie brings back a lot of what people enjoyed of the first Avengers: Whedonisms, heroes uniting after minor disagreements, facing a world ending threat, fighting a faceless and endless drone army, and a villain more charismatic than the heroes. The problem with reusing that formula is that some may have gone into the experience looking for further character development and different types of conflict from the original. I still enjoyed it; I just wanted something new.

The movie would have been hard pressed to outdo Avengers but even if it didn't outshine the original, it was a good movie to forget the world for 2 hours with your family. My son loves watching it for the Hulkbuster fight by itself.

I loved this movie when watching it in the theater and I still do. The story is a bit weaker than the original, but it still has a lot of replay value. However, there aren't a lot of special features on the 3D Blu-Ray disc; most likely holding off for a special set later. I did buy the exclusive packaging at Best Buy and although it's nice overall; the front piece when you purchase it makes it look great, but it's just a half slip cover. I hate it. Regardless of that though, the movie is great.
