I have been a user of another top tier software for many years available through Best Buy and though I would give AVG Ultimate a try and I am very happy with my decision. AVG Ultimate is packed full of features and live monitoring like no other. The scans get deep into the computer and actually found issues that my other software left behind. The security software works very well and does not slow down the computer whatsoever. I really love the tune up feature the most. I ran a full tune up session on my computer and man did it make a huge difference on the way it runs now. It found many drivers that were out of date and took care of them in minutes. Also, there was a lot of registry errors and registry files left behind from old programs. The best part is it cleared almost 120 gigs of room off my computer from files, cookies and whatever else was clogging up my system. The computer just runs better, period. The password protection works great, no complaints, just keeps them stored and makes logging in super fast and easy. The secure VPN is nice but is honestly slow, just like others available. It does work and works well. I have been testing it for 3 solid weeks and I feel safe making payments over the internet knowing my information is being protected. Definitely look into the AVG Ultimate software, I am going to be a lifer now.

So far this has met my expectations. It's very easy to install on Mac, Windows, and I phone OS. With little to no time, you're up and running completely secured. The user friend interface makes it a snap to be able to scan your computer or use any of the various other functions. Overall I'm very pleased with the performance.

I've used AVG a few times in the past ranging from the free version to helping friends configure advanced settings on older versions of AVG Ultimate. I've been testing this current version of AVG Ultimate 2020 on 3 computers that I have at home and here are the notes that I collected during said testing. Positive - 1) I've tried some "real life" virus infected files that I sought out on the internet and tested on these machines. AVG swiftly noticed the infected files and quarantined them. 2) User interface is colorful and pleasant to look at. This won't matter to most users, but there are those who simply won't use an ugly application - this isn't ugly by any stretch of the word. 3) No perceived performance impact by running this AV. I've stopped using others in the past because of noticeable slowdowns - none seen here. 4) I can "manage" all machines running on my license from one central console. Can't comment without further data - 1) This should go without saying, but it is unknown how fast AVG updates their virus definitions. I can't say anything about that. 2) The built in VPN - I can't say whether they collect logs or not - far too many VPN providers on the internet say they don't but actually do. I wouldn't lean either way without any real evidence. Negative - 1) This is enough to actually make me not recommend the application - WAY too much, and I mean *WAY TOO MUCH* up-selling built into the application. I was prompted to purchase add-ons for the product that the "Ultimate" includes. 2) Too many interactions with the user. Your average internet security suite/antivirus user doesn't want much - they want security and they don't want to be infected with a virus. They don't want their antivirus to interact with them, and then if it does, only to tell them that they have a virus and that it was quarantined or removed from their system. I found the interactions extremely distracting and more of such activity than in previous versions. So - this is a tough call. Yes, the application works and works well, but it has some rather annoying idiosyncrasies that are a turn-off for me. It works - but I personally don't like it. That doesn't mean someone else wouldn't !

The AVG Ultimate protection package is an excellent solution for protecting your computers, laptops and mobile devices from malicious content attempting to perform unwanted actions on your devices, such as compromising your personal data. The AVG protection software is very easy to install and does not impair the performance of your devices while protecting your from SPAM, unwanted pop-ups and redirects. You can surf the internet with confidence, knowing that your browsing session is protected by the ultimate solution in computer software protection. The AVG Ultimate can even check the validity of Wi-Fi hotspots so that you know your device is connecting to a safe wireless connection and not a rogue hotspot. This is extremely helpful if you connect in public places like, hotels, airports, and restaurants. The AVG Ultimate is easy to manage as well. There is no need to worry about manual updates or manual intervention of settings. Enable the services you wish to run and you're done. I highly recommend the AVG Ultimate security package.

I bought a subscription of AVG Ultimate a year ago and have had no problems with viruses, malware or password breeches, or unwanted webcam access. So I decided to sign up for another year of awesome protection. The installation was easy, just had to enter my new subscription code and I was extended for another year. Yes I often get banners popping up telling me I need to add driver update and Anti tracker which is an extra monthly payment but I just close those banners as the ultimate version does everything I need to keep my desktop safe. I also download the Ultimate version to my families 2 androids, 2 Iphones, and a laptop. Ultimate provides great potection for all devices. For the price, AVG is the best security and antivirus for all your devices.

    Great Antivirus includes VPN Software!

In the days before Microsoft included antivirus software in Windows, AVG was my antivirus of choice. I then stopped by software, thinking Microsoft was enough but times have changed and with so many connected devices including laptops that go to school where who knows how responsible other parents and kids are, it was time for a more robust solution. AVG Ultimate scores well in independent tests (see https://www.av-comparatives.org/) and has some nice extras which make it worthwhile. I didn't download a virus to test AVG Ultimate out but I did real-world work to see if helped make life better. Here's my thoughts: Installation is easy. There is no need for registration (THANK YOU AVG!) you just download, enter your license key and go. You can create an account if you want. One less place to have a username and password is great. Windows 10 automatically recognized AVG as my new antivirus and it appears in your Windows Security settings. I'm a PC Gamer and there was no noticeable impact on gaming with the software running in the background. There is a Do Not Disturb mode you can use to silence AVG Ultimate for specific apps if you're worried you'll get a scan reminder in the middle of your Fortnite tournament. What you might not know and what makes this AMAZING value is that it comes with AVG VPN. A 10 license (PC/Mac/IOS/Android) VPN makes this an absolute bargain and if you're connecting to public WiFi networks then AVG is worth buying for this alone. This means it does offer security for iOS as a VPN is your best security option on iOS as Apple doesn't support antivirus software. Other included benefits include a PC Tune-Up and Password Protector. The first is a PC maintenance tool that can clean up space, your registry, etc. There are also tools to tweak your startup settings and scan your harddisks. The Password Protector alerts you to account breaches, it's not a Password Manager (from what I can tell) and it monitors passwords you store in your browser. Probably the best thing about AVG Ultimate though is the 10 user license. I thought it was overkill at the time, we have 3 PCs... but when you add in mobile devices and tablets 10 is really want you want. So if you're not sure if 10 is what to get, I really recommend it. Finally if you're on Android, AVG has some extras for Android users. Including AVG Cleaner for Android and tools to help you manage your photo gallery and a funky alarm clock. The latter of these are a bit gimmicky but the antivirus for Android and AVG Cleaner for Android played nicely on my Sony Xperia. My only complaint (and the reason this gets 4 not 5 stares) is in the AVG Ultimate menu they include a link to a "Driver Updater". Installing it then prompts you to pay an additional annual fee for the Driver Updater. I wish they didn't do this and either included it or hid it from the menu (or you can hide it from the menu). Especially when they calls this AVG Ultimate, they should include everything. Otherwise, recommended and worth the price especially for a 10 license VPN!

    Solid PC Protection

This bundle is all you need to protect your computer for the average home user. It covers the most attacked parts of a computer user's digital life. From surfing the web/email to virus/ransomware to privacy/password protection and even a VPN, you are covered with this AIO suite. There are 5 main areas that are protected in this software: Computer, web & email, "hacker attacks", privacy, and payments. It has real-time protection against virus/ransomware and malicious apps. Web and email are also covered in real-time against downloading viruses and email attachments and links. Hacker attacks handles firewalls and personal file protection. The privacy section addresses webcam and sensitive documents from snooping and hacks. The payments section protects you against spam and fake websites for safer shopping and online experiences. Aside from the basics here, you are also provided a "PC Cleanup" tool that actually does really well. It scans the registry and other things to help optimize your PC and keep it operating at peek performance. I do get annoyed here that they try to upsell you on something that is "Ultimate" which means the entire suite should be included in my opinion. They want you to buy the "Driver Updater" and "Anti-Track" which is a HUGE annoyance after you go through the long process of clicking through the various scans. Setup Setup was fast and easy. You download the installer, enter your serial number or pay for one, and then everything is unlocked and downloaded. After activation, you will have access to the Internet Security Suite and PC Tune-up software. This is pretty quick and everything is up and running fairly quickly. Performance My machine is running Windows 10 and has 64GB of DDR3 3200 RAM and an AMD 1700x. The software runs like a dream and isn't really resource intensive at all. It flies through it's tasks and doesn't cause any bottleneck issues that you will find with other software suites in this category. It is using between 283MB and 301MB of RAM running a scan and also the Tune-Up software at the same time. Now that is lightweight for sure! To put that in perspective, Chrome is using upwards of 580MB of RAM. The UI The UI is organized and well laid out so that anyone can figure it out. Everything is broken into sections that are pretty clear at least to me. My only gripe is that you have to click next during various scans which is a PAIN if you are trying to do this overnight. My favorite features UI - The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. I really like how everything is laid out and is easy to find. VPN Builtin - Nice VPN software built in. Webcam Protection - Notifies you when it is accessed or block it totally. Hi Performance Low Resource Demand - usually AV software hampers the system resources. I am pleased to say this is the best for Windows 10. Definitely recommend this for home use.

    AVG Ultimate (10 Devices)

The installation of AVG Ultimate is very simple. With the constant increase of cyber-crimes, the necessity of self-updating protection is higher every day, and this makes that process easy. The software started blocking nearly every site I use when I first installed it, but it did not tell me what it was doing. It made it look like the site was down or there was an issue with my Internet connection. I had to create an exception to do an Internet search to find the issue. I had to turn off part of the software to be able to browse the Internet... It makes me question how secure my computer is now.

    Amazing Protection For 10 Devices

Installation: Installation is straight forward, easy & without any major problems. Although, there are a few included items to have to be installed outside of the main installer (Tune Up for example). Interface: The interface is really clean and easy to follow. I am a tech person myself but some of the other antivirus & security apps have menus that are very convoluted, not intuitive and just plain hard to understand. One drawback that I will get to later is Ultimate isn't really ultimate in that some of the apps aren't included (Driver Updater for one). This is really a sore spot for me. When I am buying the ultimate I really take it to mean Ultimate in that everything is included and operates under one main interface. This is not so with AVG Ultimate. Pretty disappointed in that. Performance: I have been running Malwarebytes for years now after migrating from Kaspersky back years ago and before that Norton (specifically I think Norton 360). So I know that any antivirus & security suite of apps is going to be CPU and RAM intensive. On my Gaming and Plex server it doesn't really slow anything down as I have an i7-8700k with 32GB of RAM running Windows 10 Pro. My laptop is an i7-8750H and 16GB of RAM running Windows 10 Home and I haven't really noticed any sluggishness from it. The included Dell apps that it helped me to put to sleep were more CPU and RAM intensive than I have noticed AVG Ultimate to be. **NOTE** The Account Breach scan (unsure right now of the correct terminology that AVG uses) notifies me that my account(s) have been breached. I assume they do like HaveiBeenPowned does and run my email addresses and accounts through a DB to see if I have been breached. I can NOT find this setting anywhere and click anything other than exit on the result causes AVG to lock up and forces me to reboot my machine. I plan to work with their Support team to narrow down what is happening and find a solution (hopefully). Final Thoughts: AVG Ultimate really is a great suite of software. There are minor annoyances of up-selling things that should be included in the Ultimate Edition, this is par for the course with AV and Security software and really needs to change industry wide. AVG Ultimate is a solid 8/10 in my book and I really enjoy it. That said, when my year is up I'll be going back to Malwarebytes as it is a discounted account that it super cheap ever year for me.

I have used the majority of Virus Protection programs. AVG has always been a good product from their free tier to this product. Software is easy to install and setup. The PC Cleaning addon software is also very useful and helps give the PC a little backend boost and cleanup. Only improvement I would want is a backend management of devices to be able to deactivate a device when it is no longer needed with protection. Overall my PC did not seem to take a CPU or Network hit and I am happy with the protection it is creating on my PC

This review is based installing AVG Ultimate on both my Windows computer as well as my Samsung Android device. I originally attempted to install AVG on my Android first, however after getting a few errors related to invalid activation code, I moved over to my laptop.  The install for the laptop was quick and easy with the download taking a few minutes for the initial setup, and about 20 minutes if you choose to install all features. AVG runs seamlessly on Windows, and stays in the background as expected.  After successful installation on Windows I was then able to use the same activation code and install on my Android device. If this review was only for a Windows computer it would be a 5 star, however the Android experience wasn't as seamless.  For the Android support there are constant notifications to "fix" or enable a feature, always with an additional cost.  It got to the point where I uninstalled the app from my Android due to the frequent notifications.      The features for Windows are nice - Internet Protection, a secured VPN, password protection, and a tuneup feature.  These are all as expected, and you have a dashboard that allows customization of which features to install. The Android features are similar - boost ram, clean junk, scan wifi and VPN protection but also includes data monitoring, app protection, "anti-theft" which includes PIN security, and the expected system scan.  Overall these are great features, I just wish that I wasn't always receiving notifications either of a scan or of a "feature" I need to enable (enabling is code for purchase).  Overall I think it does a great job of background security for my Windows machine, but not sure I'd highly recommend it for an Android device.

I had some difficulty getting this initially installed. It took a little while for the AVG help to respond. When they did I realized the AVG Ultimate is setup for specific devices. Double check it covers the devices you want. Android Mac Windows The AVG rep suggested I install it on my windows pc first, then try other tablets etc. after. The install worked fine on my windows pc. I set it up and was able to connect with the activation code provided. It ran through the initial scan and informed me of all the errors I may want to fix to secure my computer/network and speed up my computer. I performed the clean up and turned on the VPN monitor (included). I did not notice a major speed increase if any after running the cleanup. I tried to install it on my Android tablet/ 2 in 1 but only could access some of the programs. The Play Store does not have all the programs/apps available to the PC version for this Ultimate coverage. I have not tested out the security app yet on my Chrome Slate and the TuneUp app is not available. I was unable to install it on my iPhone or iPad This seems to be geared for Windows PCs and Laptops.

It also works on 10 devices as well. The UI is great as well. AVG is usually one of the better anti virus apps and is less intrusive in terms of perform hit on your system

This AVG is pretty good for PC in protecting for most things. The good Protects from most know virus codes and web browser hacks Full real time protection against malware and ransomware With being Ultimate you would expect everything to be included but there are some add ons But not so good for my android device. Major issue is battery drain and deleting files without giving me an option on what I want to keep from junk file cleanup.

Easy to download, unobtrusive, and reliable. There's nothing flashy or showy about security software, but it's absolutely necessary with the proliferation of malware on the web. This is a great option because it protects ALL your devices as well as Wifi hotspots so if you use your computer in public, this is a must have.
