Overall Baby Driver is a fun movie. One of the best parts of it is the soundtrack there is definitely some great tracks to fuel the action. The story is simple and enjoyable. The acting is another thing entirely. With such a star studded cast you'd think there'd be some great performance but this is one aspect of the film that falls flat. I was excited to see Kevin Spacey's role but his performance felt stiff and a little forced. John Hamm was over the top, a far cry from his smooth cool demeanor from MadMen. And Jamie Fox felt similar to Hamm. I understood his character was supposed to be this lose canon hard nosed guy but it just came off as over played. I'd say if you like fun car chases and rockin' music this is for you. Go in expecting a fun action movie and not an Oscar worthy flick.

A solid movie with great acting and great use of music.

Baby Driver is actually an homage to old 1970's car exploitation films. You wouldn't know it from the look of the film, or the design of the sets, but if you're a fan of those movies, like The Driver, Vanishing Point, Gone In 60 Seconds, or even Smokey And The Bandit, you'll understand exactly what I mean. The movie features all actions scenes synced to whatever song is playing on screen, like a music video, but with high speed auto action. I wouldn't say there's a lot of new ideas happening here, but that doesn't mean the over all film isn't a fun ride. While it felt familiar to me, not in a bad way, i can imagine for those that haven't seen those films i mentioned earlier, you might have a totally different experience with the film.

Baby Driver is one of those rare cinematic experiences that only gets richer with repeated viewings. The first time through it's a heart racing heist film with alot of heart, but watch it a second time and really think about what you're seeing. From the single take coffee run with choreographed writing on the wall to the meaningful color coding of just about everything, the film is full of surprises, metaphors, obscure references and hidden meaning. Baby Driver is a terrific ride that I can't recommend highly enough!

To be blunt, I didn't expect much when I picked this one up. Another action flick to kill some time with during a slow afternoon. Was I surprised, not only were the action sequences done well, but the acting wasn't subpar as it usually is in these type of movies. Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx both did well portraying their roles as "bad" guys in this film, and the lead, played by Ansel Elgort was an interesting attempt to create a new style of character. Definitely worth a shot. You may be as surprised as I was!

Love this movie! I only wish they could have kept up the premise from the start of the movie and worked it throughout. The writer admittedly says he had the first 12-15 minutes of this movie thought out since he was young (teens or early 20's) and you can tell because it is excellent. He just couldn't keep the punch up through the whole thing. I also think there was a darker turn that maybe wasn't as necessary but still worked. Loved the ending although a bit unrealistic. Worth the watch no matter what.
