Unfortunately it only took a few weeks before the ams started failing. Issues with it feeding and stopping prints midway. It seems to be a bad AMS but incant even talk with Bambus support team. They take 3 days to respond. I'm forced to either buy a new ams or slowly wait for help to get compensated or fix the problem.

Complete Disappoinment. I got this printer twice, and returned it twice. In both cases of the initial setup, the filament failed to load properly into the printer. I had unload and reload. I couldnt get it to print because of this. It also failed to connect to wifi Bambu Lab has been a complete disappointment. Do not beleive the hype. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND

Read a lot of good reviews but unfortunately received a defective one. The printer errored out performing a calibration right out of the box. Bambu Lab support continued to suggest I go through their lengthy troubleshooting processes. Luckily I was able to return it. Will purchase again and hopefully I get a working one. Will update review if it does

I got this machine a couple of weeks ago. I have maybe printed no more than 30 hours. But now I keep getting errors saying the AMS can’t pull back the filament. I have tried everything. I have watched numerous videos. I have reached out to people who own 3-D printers. It’s not working. At this point, I’m very frustrated. But also there seems to be a pattern with this specific printer. Honestly, I just wanna return it. However, I have invested so much money and buying filament for it. But what’s the point when I can’t even use it. I’m so sad. Just feels like a waste of money at this point.

The Bambu Lab P1S with the Automatic Material System (AMS) is a highly capable enclosed CoreXY 3D printer that delivers an exceptional balance of speed, reliability, and multi-material printing capability, making it one of the most impressive consumer-grade printers available. From the outset, the P1S with AMS impressed me with its ability to produce consistent, high-quality prints with minimal user intervention. The printer’s fully enclosed design, combined with active chamber heating, provides a stable thermal environment that significantly reduces common issues such as warping, layer splitting, and inconsistent extrusion when printing engineering-grade materials like PETG, ABS, and ASA. In my experience, this enclosure has been instrumental in achieving reliable results with materials that are notoriously challenging on open-frame printers. The inclusion of the AMS unit is a standout feature that elevates the P1S beyond typical single-extruder printers. The ability to seamlessly switch between four spools without manual intervention enables complex, multi-color, or multi-material prints that were previously impractical on a single-extruder system. The filament drying capabilities of the AMS—where each individual spool bay maintains controlled humidity levels—have proven effective at preserving filament quality over extended periods. I have successfully completed multi-week print campaigns using nylon and carbon-fiber-filled materials stored in the AMS without noticeable degradation due to moisture absorption, a problem that frequently plagued my previous printers. The printer’s hardware and software ecosystem further enhances its usability. The combination of the CoreXY motion system, high-flow hotend, and the Bambu Studio slicer results in print speeds that frequently exceed 200–300 mm/s without compromising surface quality. The automatic bed leveling, vibration compensation, and input shaping features operate quietly and effectively, allowing for fast prints with minimal artifacts. In my hands, the printer has demonstrated a high success rate—often exceeding 95% for complex models—requiring little more than starting the print and removing the completed part. However, there are some limitations to consider. The AMS unit, while innovative, introduces certain operational constraints. The added mass of the AMS frame and filament transport tubes results in a slight reduction in maximum achievable print speeds compared to a standalone P1S, particularly for rapid, single-material prints. Additionally, the system’s reliance on PTFE tubes to transport filament from the AMS to the print head can lead to occasional filament jams or retraction inconsistencies, particularly with highly abrasive materials such as carbon-fiber-filled nylon. These issues, while infrequent, require manual intervention to clear and can disrupt longer print jobs. Proper maintenance—such as regular inspection and replacement of the PTFE tubes—is essential to mitigate these challenges. Other practical considerations include the printer’s relatively high power consumption due to the enclosure and heated chamber, as well as the non-trivial amount of desk space required when the AMS is fully assembled. While the AMS’s filament drying functionality is valuable, it does not fully replace a dedicated filament dryer for users working with extremely moisture-sensitive materials that require prolonged preconditioning. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Bambu Lab P1S with AMS delivers an experience that is difficult to match in its price range. The combination of automated multi-material printing, reliable high-speed performance, and an intuitive software workflow has fundamentally improved my ability to produce functional, multi-material prototypes and end-use parts. The printer’s capacity to handle a wide range of materials—while maintaining them in a dry state—has eliminated many of the logistical challenges associated with multi-material workflows, allowing me to focus on design and output rather than constant filament management. In summary, the Bambu Lab P1S with AMS is a powerful and versatile 3D printing solution that excels in delivering production-ready results across a broad spectrum of materials and applications. Its strengths—particularly the seamless integration of multi-material printing with reliable drying capabilities—far outweigh the manageable limitations of the AMS system. For anyone requiring consistent, high-quality output with multiple filaments, whether for prototyping, small-batch production, or multi-color modeling, the P1S with AMS represents a significant advancement in desktop 3D printing capability.

    Simply Amaze by My P1S

I'm thrilled with my Bambu Lab P1S printer and highly recommend it, especially for beginners! It handles most printing needs beautifully. While there's been some discussion in the 3D printing community regarding Bambu's announcement about restricting third-party software, it's important to note that this currently only affects the X series printers, not the P or A series (at least for now). That said, the Bambu slicer is quite capable and produces excellent results. The included 0.4mm nozzle is a great all-around option, and I've even had fantastic quality with a 0.6mm nozzle. Any issues I've encountered have been user-related – like forgetting to empty the poop chute (lesson learned!). Setup was incredibly easy; it was practically plug-and-play. Within 35 minutes of unboxing, I had updated the firmware, calibrated the printer, and was printing a Benchy. Spare parts are affordable, and the expandability to four AMS units is invaluable. I actually added another AMS to enable 8-color printing. I've been using PLA and PETG with no problems so far. Odor hasn't been an issue for me (my printer is in my office near a window), though I know some materials like ABS and ASA can produce stronger smells. The P1S can be a little noisy during calibration, but the printing noise itself is more like manageable white noise. The network connectivity is a fantastic feature. I can control the printer from my phone or tablet, so a PC isn't always necessary. The built-in camera is 720p, which is decent, but I've supplemented it with a Ring camera for a better view. The possibilities with the P1S (or any Bambu Lab printer) are truly endless! Like any piece of equipment, regular maintenance is key. I've put about 1200 hours on mine, and it's still going strong. One tip: I've found that plastic filament spools work best with the AMS system. Cardboard spools can sometimes slip, causing feeding issues and print errors.

So far, the P1S has been working great for me. It does “poop” quite a bit during operation, so don’t be surprised when you see small circular piles of filament on the floor. This 3D printer is truly ready to print right out of the box with little to no adjustment. All I had to do was run the calibration the first time and start printing. I didn’t use the sample filament that came with it—I went straight to PETG, and it worked just fine. I actually started with a cheaper Ender V3 KE, but the P1S print quality is far better. The KE gave me adhesion and print consistency issues, which led me to switch to the P1S because I wanted something that was reliable and ready to print out of the box. I needed a printer I could depend on for my business needs, and so far, the P1S has delivered. I haven’t needed to use the multi-filament feature yet, but the AMS system is working well so far. One feature I really like is the ability to view and control the printer remotely. I can start a print, head out shopping, and still monitor it while I’m away. By the time I get home, the print is finished. I’m really loving this printer so far.

The Bambu Lab P1S Combo is a very good 3D printer. It has excellent print quality, fast printing speed, and works reliably right out of the box. The enclosure helps a lot with ABS and other materials, and the AMS system makes multi-color and multi-material printing easy and convenient. The setup is straightforward, the software is user-friendly, and the printer feels well built and solid. Noise level is acceptable, and results are very consistent. The price is a bit high compared to entry-level printers, but the performance and features justify it. Overall, it’s a great choice for both hobbyists and more advanced users who want reliability and quality. Recommended.

A Legit Tool, Not Just a Gadget

This is my first 3D printer, and I went in expecting a learning curve. What I didn’t expect was how quickly this thing would become part of my daily workflow. I’ve been printing almost nonstop since the day it arrived. Setup was straightforward. It came with starter filament and everything needed to get running. No scavenger hunt for extra parts, no firmware gymnastics. I was printing same day. What surprised me most is how refined the experience feels. The built-in camera and app integration let you monitor prints remotely, which matters more than you think once you start running multi-hour jobs. Being able to check progress without hovering over the machine is a big deal. The print quality has been consistently impressive. I’ve printed functional parts, organizers, brackets, and larger structural pieces, and the dimensional accuracy and surface finish have been better than I expected for a consumer printer. It just works. The AMS system (the four-spool unit on top) is the real differentiator. Having four filaments loaded at once means you can switch materials or print multi-color parts without constantly swapping spools. It also keeps everything clean and organized. Once you use it, it’s hard to imagine going back to single-spool setups. As someone new to 3D printing, I appreciate that this printer doesn’t require constant tweaking to get good results. You can dig into advanced settings if you want to optimize, but you don’t have to in order to get excellent output. This has quickly gone from “new gadget” to practical tool. If you’re considering getting into 3D printing and want something that lowers the barrier to entry while still delivering serious performance, this is a strong choice. I didn’t realize how useful this technology would be in everyday projects until I had it.

The Bambu Lab P1S Combo has completely exceeded my expectations. The setup was incredibly simple, and I was up and printing within minutes. The print quality is outstanding, sharp details, smooth layers, and consistent results every time. The speed is another huge advantage. This printer is fast without sacrificing quality, which makes it perfect for both quick prototypes and finished projects. The AMS system works flawlessly and makes multi-color printing super convenient. Build quality feels premium, the software is intuitive, and the printer runs surprisingly quiet compared to others I’ve owned. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-performance 3D printer, this one is absolutely worth it. I’m extremely happy with the purchase! Highly recommended
