Band of Brothers is a World War Two miniseries based on the best-selling book of the same name by Stephen Ambrose. It follows the men of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. It takes place from 1942-1945, following from the Airborne Infantry's training at camp Toccoa, Georgia, USA, to various places in Europe, notably Normandy (France), Holland, Belgium and Germany. It is set during the European theater of World War II. Band of Brothers has 10 one hour-long episodes in the series. Even though Winters is main character, there is a main focus for each episode. The characters that are portrayed are actually the real members of Easy Company. Prelude to each episode contain prerecorded interviews and some of them can be seen in those videos.

I was able to watch some of this series years ago and found it very well made. At that time I did not have an HD tv. With this BD I am very impressed with the improvement in both sound and video. Recommended!!

When HBO makes a mini-series or a TV series they rarely disappoint. Band of Brothers is no exception. It is a captivating retelling of the story of one company in the European campaign of World War II. Tremendously well written and acted by a cast of names and faces you will recognize such s Ron Livingston (Office Space) and David Scwimmer (Friends). I bought this series on DVD several years ago, but decided to upgrade to the blu-ray version when it was on sale around Black Friday. If you are considering Band of Brothers, also consider it's sibling serices, "The Pacific" which as the title suggests, covers the Pacific campaign of WWII. The Pacific does not have the recognizable names of Band of Brothers and perhaps is not quite as good, but definitely worth watching.

Started watching this series on HBO and decided to go buy the collection right after finishing. Overall great and gripping series. Good look of what WW2 was like from the perspective of these men.

An excellent telling of a group of WWII men who went up against odds and tough conditions to complete missions. It has ten episodes and documents what occurred, with interviews of some of the survivors. Easy Company 101st Airborne division, U.S. Army. This is the film version talking about the different veterans of the group and various missions they go through. A book was written about the group years before being adapted into a series for TV.

Based on the true experiences of a 101st Airborne company in World War II, Band of Brothers is probably the finest piece of war-related filmmaking I have seen (and I've seen a boatload of war movies). The 10-part series allows a depth of storytelling that really draws you into the trials and triumphs of these soldiers in a way that a standard film cannot. Normally, I'm squirming in my seat by the 2-hour mark but I'm pretty sure I could watch this entire series in a couch marathon and be riveted. It's a truly engrossing experience and for me personally, far superior to Spielberg's and Hank's other big war collaborations (Saving Private Ryan and The Pacific).

Movie does a great job in showing the sacrifices and heartship suffered by US soldiers in Europe during WW2. Battle scenes are realistic and not hyped.

Great series for world war two lovers. Lots of action about real battles that took place. Blu ray quality is good but not great thats the reason for overal rating.

One of the best Mini Series that HBO has put out. I think it was better then The Pacific but which still is a great mini series also. Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg are the Executive Producers. Its a Epic 10-Part Mini Series run time is 705 minutes. 6-Disc set, DTS-HD Master Audio 1080P High Definition 1.78:1. Also comes with Digital Copy which dont expire until 12-31-21. When I bought this I caught it on sale for $9.99. So if you haven't seen this series its a must see must buy.

Following a group of soldiers from boot camp to Europe, this mini-series from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg vividly depicts real events from the perspective of the soldiers on the ground. One cannot help but feel extreme gratefulness for the willingness of these men to go through and do whatever was necessary to save the world from fascism. Excellent special features include interviews with the real heroes depicted in the series and backstory documentaries and period news-reals.

If you ever wondered what our fathers/grandfathers had to go through in fighting Germany during the 2nd world war, this should answer much of it. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the series follows the Paratroopers of Easy Company from training, through D-day, and all the way into Germany. Based on the real stories of the men who lived through it, and even featuring interviews with them. These men were heroes in the truest sense of the word, and what they did will stay with you forever.

Always wanted to add this to my collection. The series is amazing. Heartwarming and heartbreaking. The characters are well written and the world building really helps with immersion. Couple that with a great price of 9.99 (when I picked it up) and it was definitely a must buy. Only wish it came with a digital copy too. Still great though.

Loved the show and watched it on HBO when it was on. Not happy about the digital code not working on VUDU.

If you liked "The Pacific", which was an excellent series on the war in the Pacific, you would like "Band of Brothers". Although it was not written by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, they directed some parts of this series. This series followed a group of men from training camp to the European campaign including Normandy. Really, an all round fine group of actors that included Damian Lewis and Donnie Wahlberg. It was evenly strong in every series, like the Band of Brothers, which had much to do with the writing of Stephen Ambrose, and good directors.

Excellent BD set of top notch, highly acclaimed, dramatized mini-series about a leading American regiment of paratroopers that was pivotal toward the Allies' victory against Germany in WWII. Must-see, if at all interested in such subject matter, and must-own for any fan of such movies and mini-series.
