This is a wonderful series and a must have for any WWII movie collection. Throughly enjoyed and at a great price ($11.00).

I have watched many series and movies over the years telling the stories of the greatest generation. This series puts it in perspective from hearing from the people who lived the events and then watching the portrayal in its retelling. They worked to honor those men with not embellishing the story. I also appreciated the corrections as they later found out further information.

Great series from Tom Hanks & Spielberg. The actual accounts from the veterans of WWII who served in Easy Company during the liberation of Europe is what truly makes the series something special. Every time I watch it makes me re-appreciate their sacrifice and proud to be an American. HBO miniseries/series - 1. Band of Brothers; 2. True Detective (season 1 only - other seasons were bad); 3. This is an excellent miniseries, the precursor to The Pacific, this series focuses on the European Front in WW2, from the perspective of a number of American soldiers. The story is gritty and realistic, as accurate a depiction of the war as I've yet seen. The acting is fantastic, and the voiceovers by Tom Hanks give you a lot of background information prior to each episode. The physical set itself is a Blu-ray disc case in a cardboard sheath, well made and sturdy if treated well. Definitely recommended!

Love this series! Acting, direction and music are all so well done. You must watch this all the way thru where they show you the real people who are being portrayed. The best part of this series to me was in the final episode where Winters speaks on behalf of his grandchild and tells him the real heroes are those who fought and sacrificed their lives on the battlefield. The show can be gruesome as expected, but depicts the real sacrifices the men and women of this country have made to provide us freedom.

tells a great story of those who served, the interviews are as entreating as the movie. a fine retelling of the book which has yet to be equaled in detail and fist hand story telling from those who were there. worth the money and is something you can watch with the whole family. it does have graphic language and violence (war), but does a good job depicting the core of the story of the paratroopers in WWII.

If you love WWII movies, you are in for a treat! The show is great - even after so many years since it originally aired on HBO, this disc set remains a popular buy. All of the episodes are leisurely spread out over 6 discs with generally filled bonus features. This set goes on sale once in a while at very attractive price. Good addition to any Blu-Ray collection.

Good drama about soldiers in WW2. Well cast, follows the lives of ordinary soldiers in difficult times.

A great movie for the person who loves war movies with a storyline they let you get to know the characters

This historically accurate depiction of the trials and tribulations that WW II combat soldiers had to endure, is priceless & timeless. This movie is truly a masterpiece and a classic, a must have in every family’s movie collection.

If you’re a history buff this series is for you. A terrific WW 2 story that shows how “citizen soldiers” landed in France opposing the German army on their way to Berlin. It’s realistic, hard hitting and interesting as you get to know the stories of each of the men. Again if you’re a history buff “Band of Brothers” belongs in your collection

A great series! This is a DVD series that keeps your interest especially if you enjoy war movies. Each individual story is well told and the action keeps the pace going throughout the series. It's well worth watching it for the first time or if you have already seen it, like me; worth buying it to watch again.

Phenomenal picture with added features to enjoy and appreciate a well built tv special.

The series explores the ydnamics of War from the perspective of the soldiers in the field. Not just officers but the men of the lower ranks. The unity, the relationships and the trials and ordeals that are encountered in the forge of War. The bonus features are insightful and well worth watching.

If you haven't seen this series, you are truly missing out. One of the best TV series ever going in depth with American soldiers in Europe during WWII. Lots of action, emotion, and mostly accurate. The picture and especially sound on the blu-ray is terrific - looks better than when aired on HBO. Must buy!

My dad was a history buff and this was his favorite series of all time. He would watch it over and over again. He got sick and we started the series together but only made it about halfway through. I purchased these on a wonderful Black Friday deal so I can someday finish watching it.

If you've seen World War II movies, or played World War II games, and you think there's nothing else for you to learn, watch this show and realize how wrong you are. And after watching eight episodes of carnage and confusion, watch episode 9, "Why We Fight," Because when you think you've seen it all, and you've experienced everything our guys went through over there, to come face to face with true evil is bone-chilling. EXCELLENT SHOW.

This is a really, really great WWII reincarnated story. The acting and special effects are very good. There are very carefully crafted scenes and they really show the camaraderie and true horror of what soldiers saw in that war. The disc itself came with a digital download, but otherwise you really cannot go wrong purchasing this.

I was fortunate to find this on BestBuy.com for $9.95 during their Black Friday sales. I highly recommend this series for anyone who is a fan of WW2 Movies and for those who haven't seen it yet. Its an excellent series. I suggest to anyone to keep checking on Best Buy .com to see if this series is on sale again and if so, buy it. If its not on sale and you want it, get it. Its worth it.

There has been alot said of this miniseries and it is indeed one of the finest. I had the DVD version already and wanted to upgrade to Blu-Ray. This did not disappoint. That being said, this series is several years old and some of scenes are grainy and some of the others are dark. I would though recommend getting this if you have never seen it, and if you have the DVD, the video is much improved as is the audio
